Successful MQ in 2024 using the "invis trick". MQer handed the Phinny stick in invis and I handed the other staves. Worked.

mark this as rare or uncommon. dropped 2 outta 25 times.

Went to do the phinney staff turn in today for my Wizzy and you can NO LONGER MQ it!!!!

Does anyone know how much the MQ of this goes for?

Need some info on MQ. Is there faction you need to have for it etc. Dont want to lose the other 2 staffs in the process.

I've single pulled Phinny with this technique, I'm sure others know as well but if you're a Wizard, Bind yourself to the ledge, then send your eye down there to target phinny, then invis up and swim down into the room on the opposite side of where Phinny be, Get down to the bottm of the cave. Then with Phinny being still targeted, just root him(he'll resist anyways) and immediately GATE. You might get hit or might not. Once you gate back to the ledge, Phinny himself just appears and you and your group can take him out. And BTW, this must be one of the worst camps to get Epic pieces... I've heard of people killing this dude of up to 20 times just to get their piece... He's about a 12 hour respawn.

Please be very careful about attempting to MQ any of the wizard staffs. I attempted this recently. A friend of mine *a druid* had the blue crystal staff he was holding for me for MQ. When I finally got both of the other staffs, we headed for Halas to do the MQ. The druid DID NOT have the faction needed for the turn in, and Arantir ate all three staves. I spent approximately a week petitioning to attempt to get my staves back. Normally, a GM will not give back items lost during an MQ attempt, but the one I spoke with was very nice, and gave me my two staves back. Please be careful about MQing.

Sorry about this, but I went to Kedge with my ranger friend to see if he was up, he was, but level 60's were camping him. They didn't need the peice, so they invited us to join. He dropped it. I did VS two days earlier and got that peice on the first kill. Now on to Fear as soon as possible.

I just want to say that I am sick of this camp! I have killed Phinny more than 10 time (lost count) the fact that this guy has like 4 epic pieces on him makes it a pain in the *** to camp since the only times that I have heard of this staff dropping there were no wizzies there to loot the thing. I started camping him at lvl 50 and now at 59 I STILL don't have this drop. Well I just wanted to ***** a little bit to let anyone who is thinking that this camp would be quick...well it isn't.

Ok, I don't care if everyone knows this or not. Here is the no fail method of pulling Phinigel Autropos! Get a lvl 65 paladin or close, if they are lower than 65 without the HoTs and great ability to heal themselves then bring along another person who is a healer.

Anyway, gather at least one other person who needs the epic piece, preferably mage/wizard combo is nice. Now get to the ledge, after you're there the mage or wizard sends an Eye of Tallon out into phinigel's lair to get a target on him.
The paladin will then proceed to swim in targetting distance of each of the 4 swirlspine seahorses and cast pacify on them. The second the last one is pacified the paladin will target the person with phinigel on target, assist, and boom pull with a spell such as stun since he is immune.

I have done this twice and it was a single pull both times the first try and both were successful kills. And to top it off I have my Blue Crystal Staff because of it. :p You do not need anyone who isn't a paladin or healer on this one, just bring whoever needs the epic piece and at most a paladin and a healer (ie. 58+ shaman / druid or a 56 cleric) because any extra will just create more aggro to throw around and ***** things up. Good luck getting your staves wizards...

PS- Heh if anyone, like me, has a short friend list all other methods suck badly. Please use this method so we can get phinny in an out as quickly as possible and get him dropping more staves.

I was in a Phinny Raid for a caster a I know and this dropped unfortunetly there where no wizzies where there, so I got the chance to loot it for a mate of mine was just wondering if this is MQ'ble and what faction ya need to be able to hand it in

Can this stil be MQ'd after the faction changes?

The cheating way to do this is simply kill solomen (yes its hard) But he drops the 3 staves.. then all you have to do is give them to Arantir and Get the bag then give it to Solomen and you IS DONE! (Done this at 51 and my 15 wizard friend has these 3 staves waiting to hit 51!!)
