I got the earlier augs for my DE warrior but am now going for the Eminent book. I am killing spiders and collecting clusters. There are a lot of ???? yet so I am not sure what happens after I complete the first 2 parts. Do I need to turn in some amount of the clusters or can I sell all of them to vendor ?
I chose the Infested Mission
After completing the Mission (90min 3boxing, mainly cause i looted all the corpses of everything), i had
83/120 Lavaspinners killed
34/80 Eye Clusters looted
It looked like there was respawn in the instance, so I could have just stayed in and cleared the caverns out again to finish up. I figured I'd go back the 2nd day and get the last set of stuff and complete the mission again.

Whoever posted that info for Forbin's Quest is incorrect. That NPC is no where to be found. I have checked All 3 neriak zones..Lavastorm, Bloodlands.

anyone know if u can get these off the single person missions? and if so what missions?
I beleive you need to do both: Eye clusters in the mission, and lava spinners in the lair. I am killing lavaspinners in the lair and I am half way without a single cluster. On the quest journal it says ALL, but its probably incorrect.

They definately DON'T drop in the Noninstanced zones i've killed 64 spiders and not one has dropped

Do the Infested mission. They are dropping like mad.

I agree with the above posters they do drop from the infested mission, for those not in the know , you can get the infested mission when you have completed tier 1 from the DoN missions, I am also amiable to the mission giver but not sure if this is a factor in gaining the mission, When we got the mission last night we was all level 65 and nearly every other spider dropped a cluster, a guild grp of level 55's did the same mission and didnt get a single drop, so i am guessing it is level based drop too. hope this helps.
I'm having some trouble with these. I'm slaughtered many spiders, in Lavaspinners Lair and Lavastorm....I get credit for the kills, but the drops aren't anywhere to be found. I've seen the eye clusters drop in instanced versions, but do not get credit for looting them.
you get credit for these also when doing the Forbin's Elixir quest, much faster than Lavaspinner's Locals.
where is this Forbin's Elixir quest at ?
ok. You get credit for looting them in the instanced mission "Lavaspinner Locals." Spiders are SE of zonein. I got about 13 during the course of the mission, though the area is farmable if you have a willing group.
I'm a DE btw...and definitely not getting credit for looting in "Death Comes Quickly" or "Recover the Eggs" quests in Ascent.
also half elf cultural quest for gm book--kill 120 spiders--loot 80 eyes--turn in 4 eyes--99 kills and no eyes--they must be in the task/missions

these don't seem to drop in the non-instanced zone (or are rare). killed probably 30 spiders in the non-instanced zone and saw no eye clusters drop. in the instanced lavaspinner's, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of the spiders dropped eye clusters (8 in 17 kills, i think).

Any one found these? i've yet to see them.

I have only found them dropping from the spiders that reside in Lavaspinners Lair instanced dungeons.
