Ok, I got the ingredients for the book. Got the belt from the Gnolls in Blightfire in about 5 min, got the venom sac from the snakes in crescent reach in 2 kills, the cat pelt in baz for 1pp and ring in south ro in 5 min, once you turn that in get Ancestral Dark Elven Armor you need to get your patterns. You will need a Book Binding, about 1pp.

In the book binding combine.
1 x Ancestral Dark Elven Armor - Returned on Failure, Returned on Success
1 x Compacted Backpack - Bought
1 x Large Bottle of Ink - Bought
1 x Quill - Bought, Returned on Failure, Returned on Success
1 x Roll of Plain Parchment - Bought

Gives you:

1 x Backpack
20 x Pattern for Dark Elven Boots
20 x Pattern for Dark Elven Gloves
20 x Pattern for Dark Elven Helms
20 x Pattern for Dark Elven Leggings
20 x Pattern for Dark Elven Sleeves
20 x Pattern for Dark Elven Tunics
40 x Pattern for Dark Elven Wristguards

The items appear inside the backpack. The ancestral armor book will be consumed the tenth time you use it. You can repeat the quest for another

By the way this is a Non-Tradeskill combine.

Once you do this you go back to Artisan Dosan Vis`Moor in Neriak and say valuable and pick which quests you want to do for which symbols you want to make. Remember to carry the impression book with you when you do the kills! Good Luck!!

Don't waste your time killing asps in South Ro for the snake venom sack. Tried for 3 hours and not one dropped.

Zone up into North Ro and on the first ridge line kill everything that moves. Eventually the large or giant rattlesnakes will drop one. Got mine in 5 minutes...

After I turn in the cat pelt, raw-hide belt, snake venom sac, and cutthroat ring he says the predicted ".....we have an understanding?" I reply with saying VALUABLE and I don't get the for zone predicted response, he his only replying with the quest for the augments example; blessed, revered, sublime....quests. How do I get him to give me the zone quests? Am I too high of a level at 77 to start the cultural armor? It seems he will only respone with augment quest??????

# May 23 2008 at 1:49 PM Rating: Decent
I had the same problem and only have been able to make Simple armor. I believe the problem stems from them having the same word for the armor and the augments. I could be wrong but got frustrated with it and haven't checked it again, it had taken over 10 hours to get the damn raw-hide belt to drop to begin with. I'm also not sure if it is he just doesn't like me enough and haven't pursued that option and plan on trying to gain better faction standing, also when I get a chance. It could just be a bug... although I do see Dark elf cultural armor in Bazaar, but I'm unsure if it's just old stuff that never sold before all the changes..Hope that helps, because it really hasn't help me either..LOL

I found the text for it... the problem is the word [valuable] as you can see below its used twice...

Dosan Vis`moor says 'That's what I thought. Your current set looks like it fell from one of Innoruuk's zombies. If you are interested in some more eloquent designs, I have acquired some armor patterns designed by one of Lanys T'Vyl personal artisans. Never mind how I acquired them, what's important is that they can be yours, for a [price], of course. Then again, if you're interested in something even more [valuable] I might be able to help you there as well.'

You say, 'what price?'

Dosan Vis`moor says 'Well, the patterns are all in my head. If I had the actual pattern book, I'd be a hunted elf right now. So if you bring me the ingredients to make two pattern books, I'll give the extra one to you. I will need a raw-hide belt for the covers, a low quality cat pelt for the pages, a cutthroat insignia ring for the book clasps, and a snake venom sac to grind down and make a salve which will protect and preserve the finished products. I have heard these items can be found in the Oasis of Marr. South Ro and the Commonlands. Bring them to me and the extra book shall be yours.'

Quest Details: Collect and hand in a Raw-hide Belt, Cutthroat Insignia Ring, a Low Quality Cat Pelt, and A Snake Venom Sac.

Tips: Cutthroat insignia rings drop off of Dervish Cutthroats in West Commonlands, North and South Ro, and Oasis. Raw-hide belts drops off of various orcs in the same zones plus East Commonlands. Snake venom sacs are from cistern asps in North and South Ro and Oasis. Low quality cat pelt are from a variety of places, including plains cats and pumas in East and West Commonlands, North and South Ro, and Oasis. If you get a medium or high quality cat pelt first, it can be turned into a low quality pelt by combining with a skinning knife in a tailoring kit.

Dosan Vis`moor says 'Well done, Lilandraa. Here's your copy of the pattern book. Now let's keep this little arrangement between us. If Lanys gets wind that we have these designs, we'll find ourselves on the wrong end of a few too many swords. If you require some [valuable] patterns for those armor designs, I can provide them. . . for a price, of course. Otherwise, let's just forget we ever met. Do we have an understanding?'

Kill 20 Chetari Warriors 0/20
Make impressions of the teeth of Chetari warriors. 0/5
Kill Lictors of the Hearth 0/10
Make impressions of the symbols on the breastplates of the Lictors 0/2
Deliver the impression book to an artisan of your race

Side note, it took 26 chetari warrior kills to get all five impressions done. I didn't even get the first impression until 17th kill.

I can't get the Expert's book task from Dosan. He is indifferent to my level 35 mage, which is the required level for the Expert's armor. Yet when I say Solusek's Eye, it says "You are not at the right level for this task." Dosan gives me the task text for the experts book but I do not receive the task. When I say Sebilis or valley to him (the master and grandmaster book tasks) he scoffs at me as he should. I don't understand why I can't get the expert task. Help!

No faction is listed for the Dosan anywhere, dont tell me i have to do evil DoN's, I quit if thats the case.

Um, if you follow the guidance, you can get this done in under 30 min in oasis or mar. Kill of the orcs for the belt, the asps for the posion sac, the dervishes for the ring, and pumas for the pelt. You can even buy the pelt in the bazaar to save your time. Its not that hard really.

Frog Hunting Tips
# Jul 04 2005 at 2:58 AM Rating: Default
I Soloed this quest with my level 70 Dark Elf Cleric doing a quick 1 hour sweep of 8 spawn points for Krup frogs before my normal nightly fun with the guildmates. Groups doing Mass Slaughter of the frog population tends to bog down your goal of killing just Krup Frogs but if that is what floats your boat go for it.

What you need list:

1. Frogs love to Hop, Hop, Plop & Swim away at 20% If they are alone. I cannot stress the importance of SNARE here. I used my Dark Elf Cleric Noob Quest neck clicky that casts Clinging Darkness. Other non snaring classes could use the Alchemy Snaring Concoctions. Root works if you can deliver a Kill Shot that can smoke a Krup frog that is 20%. It was rare I got a kill shot with my best DD that tops out around 1800.

2. Levitation

3. Damage Shield

4. Some sort of Pacify or Harmony helps but if your a bad *** who can slay 4 green forgs in a blink of an eye you should do fine without.

My 8 Krup pop spots are down the hall from the first Bridge a.k.a. B1. As you walk down that hall after crossing the bridge you will see the path turns left. You will also see some water next to the path. You want to float over the water and pull your Krup frogs to that area on the other side of the water. This is a total safe zone. No frogs go to your side of the water unless you agro them. None of the frogs on the other side will agro unless you attack them. You will not agro any of the Frogs on the normal path pulling or if one gets away that you pulled to this area. Your first two Krup Frogs are on a ledge on your side of the water. ( A Krup pops in those two spots 80% of the time). Pathing is great here as the Frogs will jump down off the ledge if agroed. Now when the frogs run from your safe area they will jump in the water and swim. You can follow them and you will not agro any of the frogs on the other side of the water in this room. Howerver; Your runner will swim to the next room where your other (80% chance of a Krup) 6 Krups will be waiting.

Ok you runner will swim to the next room then FLY out of the pool to another Ledge that is to high for you to reach. Infact I do not think you can get out of the water in this room. Do not panic if one gets away and agros 2-3 frogs way up on the ledge. Quickly swim back to your pull spot and camp out or just wait for 3-4 frogs if your level 70. If you are lower I would count on more then 4 frogs.

Ok I am going to end it here. I could go on talking about an area you wont understand untill you have been there. Just remember that after the first bridge go down hall ( Kill the roamers and Frogs that you Agro before you cross the water) and keep going straight over the water to your safe area. Look for the two frogs up on a ledge on your side of the water. Pull them down from ledge kill them. Float up to that same ledge and around the corner you will see up to 4 frogs or maybe a Bug. 2 Krup minimum will pop down below you. Pull those Krups up to you then lead them off the ledge back to your safe area. Kill them. Go back up the ledge and note as you go down your ramp to your right is water. This is the pool I talk about above. You will see a a ledge with 2 frogs and possibly a roamer. Both of the frogs on the ledge are Krup about 80% of the time. I would usually just float to this high ledge and kill the two frogs where they stand. Afterwards I would do a half twist & double flip off the ledge into the pool and swim back to my safe area med up and do it again or leave.

This is my Krup Hunting Tip for the day. I will go into the Ilis Shaman later. Good luck and do not forget the Snare.

Just a quick correction on your post Teruhl....You must place the following 1)the book of Ancestral Dark Elven Armor,2) A HUGE block of clay (not large), 3) 1 Compacted Backpack, 4) sculpting tools, and 5) 1 High Quality Firing Sheet......place the 5 items in a KILN and click combine, and then, that will give you the backpack filled with the assorted molds.
Hope that helps

Big deal i go thru all this work for this ? Journeyman's Duskwoven Robes

Where is the real armor and why won't someone post the end results of this long quest.

At this point it looks like a total waste of time.

Who on earth wants a 5/5 item?

I've been waiting for 3 months now for some stats ect on this quest yet no one bothers letting anyone know what they are.

What's the point?
