Lavaspinner's Lair is a network of caverns inhabited mostly by Tirranun's drakeen minions and the lavaspinner spiders and their queen. You'll see the occasional Delve goblin wander through, though, and will have to be mindful of the ever-watchful, highly aggressive smoke and stone dervishes scattered about. Watch your step here too, or you may wind up the meal of the next basilisk or lavaspinner that passes by.

Was an easy zone to explore and exp in. Lootwise , the armor drops are craphola, weapondrops are very nice though , overall.

i to have done this quest untold time -but never have found the Pristine egg--no mobs sees invos (that good) and all are melee. Great for kiter.

You see the message----The ground Shakes, and a loud Thud can be heard echoing through the Tunnels.---this mean a egg has spawn. always get 3 egg piles per mission no more- even if you wait and kill the whole 6 hours.

mission says be fast on killing so we turned 10 spiders at less than 10% health and stocked piled them..then killed 10 within 2 minutes hoping to spawn the Pristine egg or a named..no good nothing happen.

Good luck on this mission--you may be the first to win it.

Had the same problem earlier on , But you just need to kill so many , we had a respawn in a room , the prisinte sample thing looked the same as the cracked egg one.

for this mission below

Kill 25 Lavaspinners
Loot 3 Cracked Egg Shells
Loot 1 Pristine Egg Shell

I was able to get the 2 first steps done but could not get the Pristine Egg Shell. Can someone specify how to get the Pristine part completed?

My group also tried this. We were killing alot of the spiders and was having little to no trouble really. Then, we get the 3rd cracked egg shell and became stuck. We spent over an hour looking for 1 Pristien egg shell. Never found it. We decided to port and try a different mission later.

Please, if someone knows how you get the Pristine Egg let everyone know. I know we killed near 50 mobs before we just got tired and used invis to scout around to see is we could find a container to open. No named mob in the zone either and the room for The Brood Mother was completely empty.

DoN Mission: Lavaspinner Hunting

To Complete:

Kill 25 Lavaspinners
Loot 3 Cracked Egg Shells
Loot 1 Pristine Egg Shell

Our group had never done this one before, and we lacked a mezzer, or any details on how to complete it.

Essentially you're supposed to go through the zone killing the Lavaspinners and finding a specific container mob. In this case it is the "Unhatched Lavaspinner" (if I remember correctly).

When you find one of these "unhatched" containers, they'll look like a pile of pulsating dark rock. Unfortunately you can't get to them without multiple pulls, even with an SK (68), Shaman (70), 2 Wizards (both 68), a druid (70), and a rogue (70) we had damn tough time just getting through killing the Lavaspinners, and with multiple pulls we'd never have been able to crawl this stupid thing.

What we did is the rogue went through the caves locating the "unhatched" mob containers and the druid would invis to these and target the "unhatched", do a /open and insta cast his Innate Camo, then loot and Evac/Succor his way back to the zone line.

A very dangerous method of dealing with this stupid DoN and nearly inflicted a few deaths, but over all, it worked.

I recommend bringing a mezzer or a very good FD puller to handle/avoid the adds on the pulls. One at a time the spiders aren't to bad, but getting 4 of 'em banging on you, and unless you got around 12k HP to burn every pull, you're gonna go down fast.

I have done this mission too, take us 2 hour befor find rocks, we was disapointed to no see any drop from mobb in 2H..., after that we got 5 rock in less than one hour, then got trouble with divine gate CH adds and wipe, corps was too far and with repop see inv we cant get our corps, got to go to summon corps in guild lobby. But time to come back had like less 3H for finish mission... But we are stayed more than 15 min outside of zone and item count was reseted ! 0 of 6 ! Arg
I realy dont understand why this counter is bond to the instance zone... was pure lost of time we finaly got 7 rock and losed mission. For sure i ll never did this mission again.
DoN Mission "Diving for Lavarocks"
# Mar 05 2005 at 7:10 PM Rating: Decent
This is a message to anyone who does the "Diving for Lavarocks" mission for DoN. Don't be dumb like me and think these mere 6 items drop off mobs. The name says it all. You have to go into the lava and /open the lava rock. Sometimes a drake will come out, sometimes not. Sometimes when a drake comes out, the rock will disappear and there will be no rock.

The game places you a good distance from where you will first spot a lavarock. From the very first time we found one, it was difficult to clear all the mobs then open the egg only to find a drake there. Pull the drake out of the lava which has HORRIBLE pathing. Have your chanter stand away and be on the lookout for adds. Our cleric died too many times to mention along with the rest of us for this to happen.

We ended up quitting after 4 hours inside. The rogue we had didn't wanna lose so took his chances and swam around invis and opened 2 more rocks to find no mob and the last 2 pieces we need. Thanks. It sucks, but it is over with now.
