Inscribable Words [The Deep]  

 

just had words drop of the cheese horrors before THO. Then 2 mins later dropped off an elder ~

After reading the various posts on obtaining the words for this quest, I came to The Deep with the impression that the words may not drop at all off of the non-elder, while the elders had a much better chance of dropping them. I had 69 warrior, 65 cleric, 66 chanter to get to the southern-most passage and clear our way back to the final tunnel that leads to the elders, THO and the entrance to Ssra. We cleared the 4 smaller thought horrors that were clumped together at the turn of the passage. The warrior then pulled an elder horror. Much to our dismay, 3 came. As intel reported, the adds were un-rootable, unmezzable. The chanter slowed all 3 and the warrior tanked 2 while the cleric and chanter exchanged aggro on the last one a couple of times until the first elder was killed. All 3 were killed and we killed off the next pair of elders with no problem. We went on to kill about a dozen or so, but we ended up wiping....and I swear this is the truth....because an elder ran at 19% health. The casters had de-memmed their roots since intell had said snare/root did not work and they received the "immune to run speed changes" message when they tested. We all wish we could have tested that again on the elder that ran.

Anyhow, we CR'd and rezzed, the cleric and warrior camped in the regular thought horror hallway just south, before the 4 spawn that I mentioned earlier. The next day, the cleric and warrior killed regular thought horrors in these hallways, without killing any elders. After about 4-5 hours of total time spent in those halls, "a thought horror evoker" in that same 4 spawn spot that I keep mentioning dropped the inscribable words for me.

I did this camp about 2 months ago. Got 2 words in about 3 hours off regular Thought Horrors back by the shrink-wand camp. Also killed some Elders, who chewed us up like nobodies bizniz.

Recently started the quest again for an alt. Cleared the regulars forever with zero drops. Also found out, the Elders have been changed to slowable (previously un-slowable). My thought is that with changing the Elders to slowable mobs, the words no longer drop off regular Thought Horrors. Dropped off about the 10th Elder.

I helped kill a mob in Deep on SSRA side, past THO. After killing around 12 Elders there, this dropped.
Then I Duo'd south tunnels, my goal was to kill Elders as much as possible. It's wasn't an easy task getting there and holding the camp Duo. But I was able to find a safe place and clear 2 to 3 spawn places, pet pulling due to their huge aggro range. The 7th Elder droped this. I did not see that either one glowed. I killed several hundred of the other horrors in the process, and checked loot on everyone.
My theory is the elders have a better drop rate.

been camping it myself - doin the whole left tunnel duo for about 10hrs now and nada =(
