Best I know is it was a very early icon model, from back in the days when many icons didn't match or were actually a "mis-match" for other item types.
[Back then you "proved/exhibited" your knowledge, played trivia, etc. with such things and it was fun. But nowadays there is so much stuff such potential confusion seems best avoided, and much more accurate icon models are to be preferred.]
At least it's a head.
So I would surmise someone just used "what they had" at the time.
