[The Vah Shir must have taken the town in the north for Major Ehmdish to spawn.]

Major Ehmdish regards you indifferently -- what would you like your tombstone to say?

    You say, 'Hail, Major Ehmdish'

Major Ehmdish says 'I have no time. The Grimling counterattack may come at any moment. We live in danger].'

    You say, 'What danger?'

Major Ehmdish says 'Of course! You're standing in a Grimling town, Wrye. This isn't Shar Vahl. My only hope is that we can press our advantage here and strike a truly [lethal blow] to these vermin.'

You say, 'I will deal a lethal blow.'

Major Ehmdish says 'Yes, we must strike at the heart of the Grimling horde. Apparently the day to day leadership duties are divided between four Grimling leaders. Unfortunately, we don't know their names or where to find them. But you look resourceful. Here. Take this chest. If you can fill it with the heads of the four leaders, you will have the thanks of Shar Vahl. . .the golden thanks.'

[He hands you a "Wax-Sealed Trunk." The grimling leaders are all uncommon spawns in the four dead end rooms of the mines in Grimling Forest, one in each. They drop their head every time, along with a weapon of the horde or grunt, and another piece of okay loot. Their names are: Highpriest Giplish, Spiritmaster Ugreth, Spymaster Gephes, and Corrupter Ahgra. Each is somewhere between level 45 and 50 and underconned. Expect to spend an hour per grimling leader. Combine the four heads in the trunk.]

You have fashioned the items together to create something new!

[Give the trunk to Major Ehmdish.]

Major Ehmdish says 'Ha! It's heavy! A sign of your success, no doubt. What a glorious tribute this will make. Here, take this as some small payment for your effort. Continue to fight the good fight, Wrye.'

Your faction standing with VahShir Crusaders got better.
    You gain experience!!
    You receive 300 platinum.

[It may be possible that pure casters receive a different reward.]

Need current dialogues and faction hits (if any), /loc of quest mobs, quest items involved, prerequisites to get this quest (if any), and more information in general.

    Grimling Forest WAR
    # Sep 21 2003 at 1:55 AM Rating: Default
I'm a lvl 64 Mage. I've been playing in Grimling forest ALOT lately, and messing with the camps. I've discovered that solo i can do all but 2 camps.
The first camp i Can't solo is the Cleric's camp. Just can't kill fast enough...YET...SCM3 will make a difference.
the second camp i can't solo is the final camp.

I'd suggest doing the cleric camp with 2 or 3 pet classes. Cakewalk that way...long as they are 60+.
The final Camp in zone requires 7 people minimum.
the Strategy for the Final camp is easy. Kill a tent....and let 1 of your 7 people sit in it.
move to next tent.....there are six tents in all...by having a player in each tent...they won't respawn.
the 7th person needs to be a pet class...to finish clearing the camps. As there appeared to be 2 waves...4 spawns in 4 sections of the camp.
after the 2 waves....5 mobs spawned in an area...and there was an untargetable mob. Claw of Khati Sha...pet caster stays back...pulls singly away from that area...and kills them one at a time....when claw becomes targetable every one jumps mob.
Sorry still trying to figure out how to reset zone...
Think it's the Elder and Elite Orders quest.... testing that tomorrow.

Just did the final camp with 3 people. 65 Mage, Ranger and Druid, all with 150+ AA. Wasn't "easy" but was super fun. Got the 100% wt reduc bag, sure wish it was coin weight reduc too. =(
    Wonderful.

    Repop

This quest does NOT repop the zone. I have done it a few times in one night.
    question
    # Aug 01 2003 at 5:42 AM Rating: Decent
Does anyone know if this quest repops the war with the Grimlings? Me and my partner have been working on this quest together, and we would like to know if this will cause the zone to repop and start the war over again.

Gather up 11 of your best friends and clear all the camps. The first 5 are really easy (and boring). The last 4 are a little harder. You will need a full group of 12 to kill the last outpost near TM. Desecrated armor drops from some of the 9 battles, very cool stuff drops off the Claw of the Khati Sha.

Most of the mobs in the first 9 battle will be green. There are just a lot of them. At 59, there is an occasional light blue or dark blue mob.

A group of 12 around your level can do all 10 in about 3 hours.

A number of other quest NPCs will pop when the last battle is complete as well.

Oh, and the weapon looks very cool, it has a metallic skull mace head.
    I would not do

As a Beastlord, this weapon is pretty sucky, as it has a ratio above 2! Better suited for a warrior, as the ratio is the same as the Lamentation.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 24 2003 at 11:24 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Actually, if you look at the screen pic of the hammer, it has a damage bonus of 8, making it a 17 dmg and 19 dly weapon. Pretty good if you ask me. Plus, there is a +3 dmg vs Grimling, hence the name Grimling Thrasher. I would take this for my Pally or Ranger any day. The Ranger would love this in duel weild situations.

Your statement has a few problems.

First off all bonus damage is figured by character level, and does not vary between ONE handed weapons. TWO handed weapons gain an additional bonus based on weapon delay.

Second bonus damage does not add to base damage it adds to the figured damage (it's not like bane
or special damage types like +magic, or +disease).

The damage bonus is relative to your level, and does not affect base damage.

Anywho, if you are fighting Grimlings, the bane damage DOES affect the weapon's base damage making it a 12/19 weap, which isn't bad. Anywho, you get 300pp for your time, and a weap you can use if you plan on killing a lot of Grimlings. It's not as bad as some of the other quests Verant has made with Beastlords on it, so I'm not going to complain.
