Lose 10% per level over cap...
# Mar 25 2005 at 6:23 PM Rating: Decent
Anyone know for sure how the decrease in effect percentage works over level cap?

Is it a straight 10% off the effect? So level 67 = 30%, 68 = 20%, 69 = 10% and 70 = 0?

Or is it a 10% decrease as a percentage of the effect? So level 67 = 30%, 68 = 27%, 69 = 24%ish, and 70 = 21%ish?

I know it's a bit after the fact Nan, but here is a reply to the same question I had ...:

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=31473&mid=110234004821037

Not sure if it's accurate, but it might help.

OK read this if u are wondering about this robe,
This is the silk elemental robe. One would think you could figure that out for your self but again EQ requires a credit card to play not inteligence. Secondly the molds drop in plane of time of gods and are rarer than 30 year old virgins. Thirdly the effect is a burning affliction type of effect and thus increases the DMG our spells do. Fourth please quit posting if u are under 65, get a clue lvl for a month join a raiding guild, pharm ToV then ssra then VT then flag your way to elementals and then repost. Should take u about a year maybe 2 to accomplish. Then u can understand the time and effort it takes to get items like this, and btw yeah u still have to go that route, skipping VT = your guild will not have the hp to survive the battles to even get the gear for elemental planes. OHHH forgot the other route ... buy and account ... well this works as long as you dont pick a necro to buy, easily one of the most complicated classes in game to raid with.

Not true at all. Our guild on Fennin Ro doesn't have one person keyed for VT, and we have killed everything in PoTime except Inny and Quarm. We are on a rotation with 5 other time guilds (maybe four) and only get two days to raid Time, and we've gotten that far in about a month. Not braggin, just stating that it's possible.

Um...I'm going to have to disagree. The Rathe run is the most hectic raid for a Necro, but aside from that, it's cake.

heh, there are 2 time guilds on stromm, and the server has not even been open for a year. No transfers, all fresh starts.

It's funny to talk bad and all, but if you make a wizard and just level him up, grind a few aas, and don't generally suck, you too can see this robe drop in a few months.

First off, he said a year, maybe two so why are you giving him a hard time?

Second off, this is a necro robe not a wizard's. Same quest but kinda silly to post here.

Third off, this in a few months is doable as you say, IF you join an established EP raiding guild and they carry your *** thru backflagging and all.

I play every day am in a raiding guild we raid 4x a week. We are taking the VT way thru the progression as noone is in VT and it is serious candyland. However, if we chose to go EP route, we would need zerg numbers and we like raiding with 40 or less. I will have this robe maybe 2 months after we're done with VT, as once the guild is all VT geared, EPs are easy as cake.

So you see, a year or two is actually a respectable time to expect to get an item like this. Expecting sooner is silly cus you'd be goin up against ALL the other casters and their dkp so I doubt you get it in under a year unless it's for a twink and your guild is in GoD.

You were doing so well with your post until that point =) On Tarew Marr alone there's at least 2 guilds in elementals working towards POTime and not that far off from it either. Sure, it makes things a bit more challenging, but VT gear is by no means a MUST for progressing into Elementals. We're living proof =)

Other than that... good post =)

When you have the skills and people to pass up a time sink like that why wouldn't you?

and as for https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=12900 .... there are much better items for classes listed in elemental and higher

something like https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=19864 or https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=21351 and there is also the kickass spell haste items that Quarm drops when we get to him.

I understand your point. I do like that you can get 10+ nice pieces(better than 50% of EQers will ever have) per run.

I don't think it is anymore time than flagging. It just takes dedication.
To each his own though and that is why EQ is so great.

RE: Pattern

drops off bosses in potime. ANd in response to not going to vt and advancing you CAN do it, its just way more of pain in the *** and most of your guild will be ill equipped till at least a couple monthes of third tier farming/ elementals

/nod this is what i meant. No VT = extra time in elementals fighting over the minis, most of the guilds who went that way and avoided time are just now messing arround with the rathe and corinav events on my server. Which they of course now are raced for these mobs as well as the minis as we get new members who need a flag or loots. While possible to make it through the game skipping progression, it does catch up with you later... we refer to it as hitting the wall.

Another Dumb Question

Am I the only one that finds this strange or maybe I just don't understand how this works, how can you have a permanent 750 absorb damage? If you don't have to redo it because it's permanent, does that mean basically you would only be damaged by something that hits harder than 750? Just curious how something like this works.

Actually, the permanent is a Typo. It should say, 'Triggered'
RE: Another Dumb Question
# Jan 15 2003 at 11:08 PM Rating: Default
The Permanent means that the buff that the item cast, is permanent (ie. not a bard song).
Of course its not permanent permanent. It has duration just like the Forceshield spell, and it disappears when the owner have taken 750 points of damage.

Dumb Question Inc
# Jan 14 2003 at 7:16 PM Rating: Default
Considering that all other Rune/HP shield spells that I have seen, used and know of require reagents, does anyone who has this fine robe, or the Wizard Elemental robe tell me if the right click requires reagents...not that I'll ever get this robe Smiley: smile but was merely curious.
RE: Dumb Question Inc
# Apr 21 2004 at 7:24 AM Rating: Decent
there is no clicky on this item, your spell shield, force shield, which requires no reagent would be enhanced by 6%, what does that mean? it means that instead of absorbing 750 dmg it will now absord 795 dmg.
RE: Dumb Question Inc
# Jan 14 2003 at 11:17 PM Rating: Decent
I don't think so...since the actual spell itself doesn't require a component.
