It procs like mad with your average shammy buffs. Holds agro (as good as epic from what I hear from people who have both).

The ratio makes for good DPS and it's got some nice stats on it. All around good weapon. On Eci sells for 30-50k.

Bought one today in the Bazaar on Saryrn for 10K. First one I've ever seen for sale, I think the price was an aberration. The chat at Steel Warrior suggests it should sell for 50K to 80K.

By the way, it looks awfully stupid. It looks like a staff with a big steel ring strapped at the top, with a bard horn strapped to the steel ring. If it procs like everyone says, though, I don't care if it looks like a pink parasol with a lace fringe.

This procs at level 56. I switched to greatstaff of thunder from dual wield, and so far my performance is much higher. Normally when I pull I leave my group at about 10% monster health to bring another mob, but now they will end up following me when I head out if I have stunned them a few times. Only thing that bothers me about this staff is the effect says "soandso has been struck by the force of ykesha" What does this staff have to do with Ykesha?

I have one of these; I got it off a named giant in the south wing of BoT. I don't recall the name but it was NOT Gaukr the level 65 boss; it was a level 64 named who spawns when you kill the krigers (which, btw, are the standard mob once you zone into the towers in BoT).

I was given it because it is warrior only, and it was only the second piece of meelee loot we had ever seen in weeks of hunting there. I used it a bit, but the proc was resisted on the bigger mobs; in any case I normally use something called a rocksmasher, which I don't see on Allakazam's list; it is a 2HB which looks like a velium hammer, has 47 damage, 41 delay, 35 AC 25 stam 100 HP and 41% haste. Eashaan of the Sky in NToV was kind enough to let me have it.

Fast for a 2 hander

This looks pretty fast for a 2 hander - alright I'm no expert on 2 handers I play a bard mostly.

This means you would be getting that whopping 2h dmg bonus pretty regularly. I'd say this looks like a damn good taunter overall. But like I said, I play a bard.

Aye, good damage, great aggro. Procs a whole ton, especially with 290 dex. Procs a lot more than epic 2-hander.

Warrior with 2HB?
# Jan 06 2003 at 11:23 AM Rating: Default
I really cant see a warrior giving up dual wield for this. Just my opinion though.

On Steel Warrior there are discussions comparing agro to epic. I'm not saying it can keep agro like the warrior epic, but the fact that people are arguing it means it's gota be pretty close.

These are dropping like candy now and the price has really sunk (about 7k on Eci and dropping).

So for the non-epic warrior, these are quite a deal.

actually a warrior is concerned about holding aggro primarily, I have this weap on my 56 war now and it procs alot. The proc generates alot of aggro. That said it is better than dual wielding for a warrior because standing in front of a mob while attacking opens you up to ripostes. When mobs hit like they do in PoP, the more you hit, the more potential they have to riposte. So a 2h weapon actually reduces the damage you take.

Actually, this is my primary aggro weapon. It's not the greatest weapon in the world, but I keep taunt fairly well with it. The proc is a lot of taunt, and it seems to proc often. =)

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 06 2003 at 3:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well im not 100% sure but with enuff haste and dex it wont matter what a war uses so long as he holds agro and i also think stun is an agro increaser since when i 2 box with a cleric and he stuns so i can bs the mobs chase him if he does it to many times and i know at least 2 wars that are in my guild that use a 2h weapon to beat on stuff and they dont ever loese control to me anyways and i got a dagger that procs ed and i bs for 300 most of the time ao its not the weapon that makes the tank its the tanks knowledge of his char and setup

A tank with great knowledge will not be able to hold aggro without the proper tools. Knowledge is a vital component as with all classes, but all the know-how in the world doesn't make up for inferior weapons and haste.
