Okay, though it's hard to pick out the useful content from all the "what a piece of cr*p" posts, I gather that this armor used to have a level 55 spell effect, but at some point it changed to be a level 65 spell effect, which seems a lot better. (Since I already have to be 55 to get the armor, I can cast my own level 55 spells thank you very much!)
But now I'm left wondering whether the effect stacks with other similar spells. In particular, does it stack with Mental Corruption (HP->mana proc)? I've heard the MC doesn't stack with HP->HP procs.

Sorry, but this isn't the upgrade to Mental Horror. This is a 90hp lifetap proc. It's a good spell and very useful until you get the next strenth of lifetap proc.
finally i can have this spell. Seeing as 85% of the games population does not and probably will not have thier GoD spells, this is a God-send. Thank you SoE for doing something right for a change! I applaude you! *Golf Clap*

Well I bought an Ornate BP mold for my 55 SK based on what I read here, popped it together and tried it. It is only healing her for 25hp not 90, though it does last an hour. I am pretty disappointed all in all, as the proc does not seems too proc often (only 198 dex, guess I can try to raise that), and the healing effect being much lower then I had thought it would be. Any hope now that it will heal for higher amounts as she gains levels? 8)

just looked and noticed the effect listed on my ornate bp is not shoud of death, but something called black shroud lasts 1:00:00 cast timer is 3.0 and is a 90hp proc donno if they have changed it or not but black shroud is'nt on my spell list so i think they have.

I haven't used the clickie on this forever beacause it sucks(compared to other shrouds or even mental coruption), but today i did for some reason and the spell was black shroud. NOT shroud of death. Either it was changed in todays patch or one a while ago and I never noticed.
Black shroud is much better though, it's basically the same as shroud of Death but proc siphons 90 hp instaed of 50. Definatly a upgrade and a click I now actualy use lol

I was just checking thru magelo and now it has the Ornate Bp listed as the same right click spell but the spell making your weapon proc a 1 minute root vice the lifetap proc. Is this a typo or was there something chenged recently?

The proc link is bad, it is still the same effect. Adds lifetap proc to your attacks.

Not sure what you guys are moaning about, us clerics get a right click cast of spell haste that doesnt even work with our two main used spells (heal over time or complete heal)
You SK also get mana regen 3 on your boots and we clerics are stuck with only mana regen 2 on our bracers (i know a total of 4 with both bracers, but who wants to lower their stats by using those bracers) All classes were shafted with the ornate molds

I'm sure Ornate was not as bad as you claim it to be... when you consider the Era and Progression standpoint it was intended for. It's how many years old? Get your head outta your *****

The vindi BP I got at level 45 has higher stats and resists and the same +100hp. The only thing this one has is 12 AC more. The click effect can never be cast, why is it even there? It doesn't stack with the self buffs I already have running all the time. In fact I may be deleteing this armor and going back to my vindi BP at least it has regen on it.

I am curious about something. Of all you people crying about this thing, do you even have it? I just got mine last night and I am quite happy with it. You fools waste more damn server space ******** about what you dont have more than anything else. If you did loot the mold and got the BP I am willing to bet that this would suddenly just be da bomb. Yes the effect could be better, but how many pre-elemental Bps have a great right click effect. Just be happy with getting an upgrade.
Oh yeah have had this, and the legs, and never used the clicky once on either, they are spells we already get upgrades for.. take a look at the other ones that are actually useful. They need to change out the effects and we would be inline with the other classes.

I just put this on my Troll Dreadlord tonight. Very nice indeed. The Fulvous Darkscale did the Troll well, but this is sweet stuff.
I usually use Mental Corruption but, I will get used to Shroud of Death. I am sure the missus (Cleric) will be happy for the self-healing, especially when the crit procs land to heal. Funny thing is that I have the Shroud of Undeath Spell but never bothered to get Shroud of Death.

Note what I highlighted.... Why? North Ro LDoN Armor DIDN'T EXIST when PoP was released. Yes, I have vambraces, for example, right now that knock the ***** out out of my Ornate ones from WoS... but I expect it to. It's the way the game has progressed. ::Shrugs:: Ya deal, but I'm rather sick, as you may have noticed with my multitude of comments, of people whining about how much "this thing suxx0rs!" when it's from 4-5 expansions ago. Open your eyes people... I started playing seriously just before GoD's release... I should be making these mistakes, but even I can see that this armor was meant for a time long passed.

I really see no reason why a SK would wear this Breastplate, and SOE is not going to change it. Some SKs on shadowknights.org sent a petion to SOE asking then to consider changing it and were ignored. My recomendation to all SKs is to do what I did when the mold dropped. Get in on the roll and if you win sell the damn thing for 200k and buy a crafted BP with better stats.

The stats on this bp are just fine, however putting a level 55 spell on it? Not only a level 55 spell but a useless level 55 spell. My Sk is 62 with 55 aa's and RARELY if ever did i use shroud of death probably only if the cleric sucked or on ToV raids where you're taking lots of AoE. I have Soul Abrasion 2 and even though that translates this spell proc into 100hps i still dont use it, mana=life for the most part. Mental corruption a level 52 mana proc is more useful and can keep you going instead of having to sit and med when your in a grp, if you have a decent cleric wtf would u need shroud of undeath.

Obviously they took my suggestion and added a level 65 spell instead =p........at the time of my original post mana was more important than health as mobs didn't hit so hard then and I had mana problems. The original spell on this BP was most definitely subpar compared to what the other classes had. However, now that I'm 70....I'll take the hps plskthx.

Gonaniel, You can make this BP at level 55, you don't expect them to put a 65 spell or a 60 spell on it do you?
It was made as a 55+ BP therefore they aren't going to have a 60+ spell on it because a 55 using a 60+ spell is stupid.

Why is it absurd to expect/desire a higher level spell on this than 55??? Have you looked at other ornate items? Enchanters get a level 63 spell to rt click on their ornate legs! "Stupid" or not its true, so why cant SK's want a spell they might use on their BP?
Of course several classas got screwed (Wizard, to name 1) by the spell choosen for ornate gear, but wth, if SOE cant make it fair the least we can have is the right to complain about what we got, lol.

*Takes a deep breath* the clicky on this BP is about as useless as they come, at level 52 ya get a better one (mental corruption) and by the time ya have this you prolly have shroud of chaos that is also much better. I almost never use this, the ONLY 2 times I'll use this clicky is if I get rezzed in the middle of the fight and NEED a proc right then and can't wait a few tics till I can cast a good one or if I'm jus' running through say Black Burrow and don't feel like meming a real spell.

You might want to play your class for another 30 levels or so and then try dueling.
You'll be in for quite a surprise when you find out just how many other classes can kill SK's fairly regularly in a duel.

I hope that someone at SOE checks these boards occasionally cause I just do not get this BP. I mean, not only is it a weak spell, its a spell you typically cast BETWEEN pulls, not in the heat of battle. If it drops, worry about it the next time. Plus, does this stack with Shroud of Chaos? I mean, with a one hour duration wouldn't an SK 63+ (and that has to be who they intended to have it from where the stuff is from) have that up if they wanted a tap proc?
You know what would have made a TON more sense? Aura of Darkness. Now THAT would be useful and its kinda comparable to the pally effect and complements it (pally cures ya, SK debuffs the mob and buffs you).

Yeah, the ornate bp molds are definetly lacking, not just for SK either. The paladin has a cure that looks great but I have yet to actually see it cure one damn thing, even after a dozen cast. Oh wait, it did cure a level 30 spell once, nm. If you want a good bp do 30 N Ro LdoN and get Royal Attendants, that is what I am working for

Are you kidding me? Have you seen the Rog PoT armor? It's rediculous compaired to this and they are not made to tank! Again SoE shows there hatred toward us dark knights!

I agree the effect on it is pretty pathetic considering the lvl at which you'd get this. It should at least have Shroud of Chaos or maybe...maybe Shroud of Undeath to help out those *cough* Big Boned *cough* classes. But why not a right click life tap(bond of death/Zevfeer's bite or even drain soul... or as someone that always has Voice of Terris mem'd and wasting a spell slot on raids or groups where the warrior can't keep agro, why not that? When it comes down to it just about any spell better than True North would be good. hehe ;)
As for the color I really don't mind it. =) Being a woman playing a 63 female de sk I think pink would look absolutely fabulous with her purple ToV gear. So over all and excluding the effect this is an awesome bp.
Oh and with LoY coming out and the mention of being able to dye armor the pink MIGHT not be such a hard thing for you guys to live with so buck up whiners /big evil grin. ttfn

The final combine takes zero skill. Making the sheets of metal requires effective skill of Smith(220). Same for the temper Brewing(220).

This BP is nowhere near that great, I'd stick with a Vindi BP over this... The pure fact that the buff on this bp sucks so bad it makes it damned near worthless compared to other BPs in it's range.
