Went in there Last night with 66 cleric(brother), 65 mage(me) and 63 necro(wife) and had no issues.. had my cleric die and then i just corpse pulled him down.. all 3 of us KOS in chardok, 66 cleric had rogue parked to unlock doors and then coh his cleric thru locked door with my mage..
When got to Overking 66 cleric pacified 2 of the the mobs on both sides of his room walls, I pulled with mala type spell and the one i mala'd came with only the overking.. 2 mobs, killed add easily, then burnt down the overking in about a min. logged on my cleric, got rezzed in, looted scroll and gated out.

Well, it took me 3 tries to get this and the reason is that I didn't read any posts before I tried it.
The 1st time, there was only 3 of us in a group. Me, 70 war, and 70 dru. Then, we met up with another group and started raid. We got mobbed and died.
The 2nd time, we had a pretty good group, but no Rog. When we got down there, we realized that we needed the Rog for a lockpick.
Third times a charm. We did it easily with me (25 Clr), 70 war, 70 dru, 70 bard, 70 rog, 70 mnk, and 56 bst. All 70s had 10k+ hit points. My clr was there for a tag-along of course. Couldn't do much of anything to help out.
Maybe you won't go through all this. Maybe your first time will be a charm. Just don't forget that ROGUE! Happy Huntings Clerics!

You can Paci this room. Single pulled King tonight with 70 Bard. Used 61 Paci song (Silent Song of Quellious). 1ST Attempt I used 66 Song that Reduces agro range, got 3 adds. Faded swapped songs and singled him out.

Have any level 70 rogues tried to pick pocket this?
It is not flagged as magic, and the pp limit was always (Rogue Level - 5), but I haven't read of anyone stealing from a level 65 mob yet.

Since the room cant be Pac'd...why not get an SK or Nec., buff their pet best you can (including shrew). Any SK/Nec worth their salt knows how to pet pull singles out of a full room. It's no secret but I'm not gonna tell ya how its done. As a 66 SK I've not tried it in this room but I can pull any single mob out of any room that I've seen so far. Hope this little tip helps.

I dont understand why this room couldnt be pacied, the mobs arent nothin special same old ones as the rest of the zone. When i got my cleric his scroll, i pacied the room. How to go about pacing the room is easy if ya got a good rog that let you in. And the secret you so cherish is a simple fd send pet in trick, real hard. This is an information board not a taunt you with tricks and say things that arent true.
Posting this after i just killed him. i can confirm my earlier post, cause we just did him all that were pacied, didnt agro.

Apparently, there has been an update to the overking room. Just did this raid last weekend. Everything was great, got the Prince, and was camped outside the king's room. Then we got wiped. The reason is the server update to the room. A guildie read an article after wipe =). You can't pacify the room and pull the king anymore. If the king comes, everyone in room comes, pacified or not. Seems the new tactic is pacify king and as many others and clear the room front to back, taking on king last. Did it with three groups averaging 56 (main group was 63+).

Hi All - I am planning to do this raid with my hubby cleric (Medisen) on Maelin Starpyre very soon...he is 66 now and still NO EPIC! The group we run with is: 63 War, 61 Bard, 63 Dru, 59 Monk and a 59 Pally (I'm the Pally). Do we have the right group for this? I'm usually the one pulling and I do very well with paci, but these mobs will probably resist mine. Medisen has the latest area paci, maybe that will work?? I'm just concerned about the adds around the Overking. Any help or suggestions?? Also, I am not familiar with where exactly the Overking hangs out, is it easy to find? I have the map, but of course it is not marked! Thanks ALL...happy hunting!

Yes the singed scroll is mq'able. Did it last week for my cleric.

This guy is doable with one 65 group. IF you have a good puller who can pull Overking WITHOUT is friends. He is not as tough as he used to be.
