I was wondering if it was ever gonna drop, sure enough, finally did after like the 10th straight Emp run I've been on. Drop rate is way rarer than the sword, so monks and BLs save em RPS.
Had 1 drop for me 2 weeks ago. Was a pick up greed raid. Only 2 people wanted it including me and i won the roll. God i love pick raids. Never have to spend DKP that way LOL.
We've done emp four or five times on Povar in the last several months and no - we haven't seen one Caen's drop. It's a bummer too 'cause Jiva has been cheap with the REBB's as well.

when I see a Thing I as a Beastlord can wear and its THAT good i gotta now how hard this emperor is the Iskars need justice and Ill kill em IF hes easy heh.
Hmmm...anyone remember the Mistwalker? How about Palladius? Palladius, by the way, is *still* a viable weapon prior to the Elemental Planes. And that was Velious era.
"Overpowered" should not be a phrase used in EQ, realistically. "Ahead of its time" would be more appropriate.
If you want a real laugh, take a long, hard look at the Monk epic. Think about what it takes to replace it (nothing prior to elemental gloves would cut that particular mustard), and think about how easy it is to get (relatively!). Overpowered? Take a look at the forest, boys and girls...you're missing out if you're not.
The truth is that Kunark screwed a lot of things up, and it took a while to get them back under control. Velious did a million and one things to start to pull things back into perspective, Luclin and AAs largely finished the job. It'll never be perfect...but take note of how many items since Kunark have been removed from loot tables in their entirety. (I ask that Sleeper's Tomb be disregarded 'cause that was kind of an odd scenario, with a one-time-only...err...thing...going on there.)
Different kinds of procs create different amounts of aggro. Procs that do direct damage such as by fire, lightning bolts, cold, and life drain appear to create no more aggro than the same amount of damage from a generic melee attack. The procs that create super aggro are ones that stun, de-buff, or leave some kind of effect (like snare) on the target. I am sure that without adequate aggro generation by the main tank that this weapon might have a tendency to generate too much aggro. However (in the case of monks), that is what FD is for.
Regarding the use of a 2hb versus one handed weapons to reduce aggro, if the 2hb is good enough (and this one is) you'll generate about the same amount of aggro. It used to be that 2hb's didn't generate much aggro at all, but they changed the rules on us and now they do. If you are raiding and you are taking away aggro from the main tank, then either he isn't doing his job right or you aren't. If your guild is powerful enough to get a Caen's, then your main tanks will have extremely high aggro weapons and you probably won't be able to take aggro away from them without the use of a spell or a very high aggro proc effect on a weapon (like the one Tunare drops). With a Bo Staff of Trorsmang (I expect to get a Caen's soon), I am unable to take aggro from our main tanks even when I hit my innerflame discipline 30 seconds into a fight.
A good 2hb comes in handy in two situations that I can think of right off the top of my head. It's handy when you have to get in front of a monster on a raid and risk a nasty riposte. You can die to ripostes in a few seconds versus something like the Avatar of War with fast weapons. A slow weapon may save your life there. Likewise, if you are tanking for a group or soloing (something us monks can't do much anymore hehe) then it comes in handy because it cuts riposte damage dramatically.
I'm sure a beastlord could make very good use out of this weapon. Beastlord damage comes from three sources though. It comes from their melee, their spells, and their pets. Monk damage is 100% melee. Give a monk a better weapon and all of his damage gets a boost. Give a beastlord a better weapon and only part of his damage gets a boost. That is why in guilds that dole out loot via some sort of merit/NBG system, monks tend to get the nicer BST/MNK weapons ahead of beastlords. We have four or five of these weapons in my guild so far. All are in the hands of monks so far. When the five or so monks that don't have one get one, I am sure they will start going to the beastlords. By the way, we aren't mistreating our beastlords. They get some rather amazing one handed weapons. I, as well as several other monks in the guild have passed on really good one handers, letting them go to beastlords instead because 2hb is the way to go for monks.
as a general rule the Monks should have first crack at a nice 2HB such as this, even though a Beastlord can make very good use of it.... This is an excellent weapon for a Beast to tank with....+5% to Block +20 Agi 125Hps...and YES a Beastlord properly equiped can Tank pretty well.
But a Monk with a 2hb takes more advantage of it. would be a total waste of Wis+10 and 125mana but oh well....
Beast should get first crack at the better H2H weapons though....
Got one of these about a week ago and boy does it proc alot. With inginuity 3 aa its pretty sweet getting 200 point lifetap crits. So far high regular non crit hit seems to be 301 with it for me. I have 2 nice h2h items but this weapon is phenomenal when you are in a situation when you need to use 2hb like the poster above posted.

It looks like an untransparent TStaff with two crescents on both ends. One end of each crescent is longer than the other, as well.
The effect is a virtually unresistable 100point lifetap. With max dex at level 65 without AA (280), I have seen the weapon proc a minimum of once, to a maximum of twelve times per fight in Plane of Valor.
Maximum hit is for 301 as far as I've seen, and I doubt I will ever get rid of such a weapon.

Its 4th RE: of the i m not bashing Beastlorads but... and its the one by ThaylinE. In that link it shows a new UI that DEF looks like something i want to use, if u cood PLZ respond as fast as possible to tell me how ya get that if ya know =), thx, i wood REALLY apprieciate it.
The cap on 1hb and piercing is the exact same as 2hb for beastlords, and using 2hb isn't any worse compared to those items. True, we don't double attack as often (or at all, if you're not 61+) with 2hb compared to other melees, but that doesn't change at all when we're dual wielding (i.e., we still don't double attack as often as those classes).
Compared to a *beastlord's* normal damage output while dual wielding, a good 2hb will outdamage other combos just like it would for monks/warriors/rangers.
The h2h cap, however, is much higher for beastlords, so many don't opt to use *anything* except h2h because they would otherwise lose a lot of atk.

it would be a waste to allow a beastlord to loot this. Without double attack it would be like a caster trying to melee. But if your guild doesn't care, then by all means let them have this as sort of a trophy.
Im a lvl 65 Beastlord with 200+AA's My guild will let this go to what ever class has the most points. POINT BLANK. Thats the way it is in most guilds that rotate Emp. The guild beastlords though will 90% of the time always let the Monks get this or the ReBB from Sol Ro before we do because we are using Hands of Honor, Battle Fists, Grandmasters Maces, and other High End H2H weapons. Our Beastlords dont over aggro and end up dead either. If your at this level of the game and cant controll your aggro then please dont go on the raid. as some one else pointed out. If your dead your DPS = 0 and your useless to the raid anyways.
Umm, excuse me (Moron), but it would not be a waste for a beastlord to use this. And any guild that would get it for a Beastlord is very smart indeed.
First the damage is Nice. Second any Beastlord worth thier weight in PP at the level it takes to attain this (coined term) "Trophy" already has 1hb, 1hp, H2H weapons that draw incredible agro anyway. This weapon is so beastlord friendly it is incredible to see such an arrogant stupid statement such as yours. You get in to a raid fight and let a beast lord get up and melee along with the big boys using any of the other weapon skills and you will have a dead Beastlord on your hands, usually because the weapons and weapon skills associated with necesarry level, draw high agro. At times like this a slower 2hb with decent damage is quite appropriate.
Notice: at no time did I say Beastlords deserve this more than monks, nor did I say monks deserve this more than beastlords.

Posted:Oct 02 2002 at 4:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Despite what this so called 55 BST and the 40 BST say yes no guild that could take Emp would give this to a BST in their right minds... first off there are only a handful of BSTs possible to be in one of these guilds throught the servers and Second monks would do around 4x the dmg with this that a BST would. In fact a BST's dmg with this would pretty much be the same as a monk with say an IFS (38/40) not counting the proc. The reason for this is as the first poster said Double Attack. A monk will hit almost twice as often AND is on a much higher dmg table than a BST anyhow. It is true a BST and monk equally equiped the BST will outdmg at high lvls but the majority of this dmg will come from the pet unless the BST is seriously uber... and NO ONE would give this to a pet /chuckle
*cough* Monks actually can Triple Attack at 60. Well, it is not that common but it is another advantage over Beastlords, especially with 2HB weapons.
A friend of mine got one of these this evening (yes, he is a Monk) and it truely is impressive. The proc is a godsend for Monks and the graphic is even rather nice =)
I will admit that eventually Beastlords will loot these. After all, the Emperor will be killed for a long time to come and eventually a guild's Monks will all have one.
It is amazing the arrogance of some people to think that Beastlords do not deserve a weapon of this level. I am a 55 BL on Lanys and this is exactly the weapon I would use if I could get it.
just to fyi, i do use 2hb it comes in had every now and then, like when i'm fighting a mob with a DS or somthing, i hit in the 75's with mine with a delay of 40, now with that damge i can disrupt damge more, also i tank farly often so i helpes me hold aggro, if u used somthing with a better ratio then, 37/45, then i can't imagen the damge hehe scary
Haha any bst that would want this is out of their right mind, want it over a monk that is.... without DA it really is so much more benificial to monks. After all the monks get then a bst can get as a trophy, to actually use it is another question. Since 2hb caps so low for bst it is so much more eficant to use h2h
60 Savage Lord Quellious Lotus Cult http://lotuscult.com
Well, you can certainly tell the BL's who don't raid from the ones that do...
H2H generates a lot of agro... most BL's who raid want slower heavier hits from 2HB weapons so they don't generate so much agro. The tradeoff is that 2HB caps lower than H2H, so you lose a fair amount of atk, which translates to lower DPS.
However, lying on the floor waiting for a rez loses a fair amount of DPS as well, and that's what happens if you generate too much agro.
So, I can definitely see why a guild would want to equip a BL with a damned fine 2HB weapon.
I gotta agree with Jeroo, although at the higher levels the difference between the Monks 252 2Hb skill cap and the Beasts 225 cap means exactly ZILTCH. Raid buffed even with 2HB equiped im almost always around 2100Atk, Iv yet to meet a Monk with an Atk over 1800, The ONLY thing the higher skill cap does is raise your atk, yet at 225 skill level my Atk is still MUCH greater than your average Monks anyway.
Oh and BTW since as a Beastlord that has ALL my healing AAs maxed plus an Improved healing IV item its not uncommon for this weapon to proc a 240Hp lifetap with a random 0-20% extra up to 288. esp since its UNresistable. put that in your pipe and smoke it
This is an excellent weapon for a Beastlord esp to tank with of which Beast are WAY better at than Monks since a Monk could'nt hold aggro if his life depended on it.
Id have to say that "mentaldisorder" is a very fitting name. This statement coming from a Monk weilding 2 of the worst Monk weapons in the game, one that procs root, the other ensnare, LOL. Get yourself a 2HB and STFU
Quote: A monk couldnt hold Aggro if his life depended on is
have u ever seen a monks HP? its absolutly sucks why in the world would a monk want to get any agro at all other than for pulling mob my point exactly anyway this is better goes to a monk way before a BST learn what u are talking about before you say it
Brooce 65 monk <Vexare> Elemental soon to be time Best puller in guild
actually as a lvl 65 Beastlord with over 120 AAs currently and ALL of my defensive AAs maxed, i can tank quite well....
This 2HB would be perfect for tanking as a Beastlord...hits hard, has a nice 100Hp lifetap which causes a decent bit of aggro, and being much slower and doing about 1/4th of the amount of attacks i do with 2 fast H2H weapons i would take a whole lot less reposte damage....
Monk can do more damage with this yes...
But a Beastlord can Tank with it very nicely....
Any Beast that wouldnt use this weapon as part of his arsonal is an idiot....
Jeroo, you're a moron. Look at Lotus Cults webpage once. They're the strongest guild on Quellious. Think he doesn't raid much? Well, you're just as much of a moron as the rest of them.

Warriors should get less hp/ac so monks can compete with their tanking abilities. O and monks need to get innate procs, like Ice comet on the prim, Anarchy on sec and a 15sec stun with kick.
% mods DO work, at least for backstab skill...find a rogue with a tendon slicer or massive heartwood thorn and ask them if they still get the same max non-crit non-disc backstabs now as when they had ragebringer (also 15 dmg) now that they have a backstab mod...went from 553 to about 593
Proof that Verant's sense of humor is still around. Caen, er, Kane's bo stick. Cute. Does the monk who has this always start off by saying "I am here to help you" ?
