Skill req on this?.. I'd hate to have to get like, 150+ tailoring or something like dat to make n00b gear that will last me till 20.. :(

There is no skill required to make this only the skill to get the items required and the skill to navigate around Freeport. Hey, another thought, why don't you try it and find out? Maybe you will learn to enjoy the game!!

I can't get my items to combine. It keeps telling me that these items can't combine in the container type. Does this have anything to do with the fact that the armadillo carapace is a NO DROP? Please help me out here.

You must be stacking the pelts, do not stack anything or else it won't combine :)

maybe verant sould balence these newb quests. compare this to Bone mail gloves (the ones for DE SKs)

You should check out most MNK only gear in relation to plate class armor. I don't think a piece of monk Thurg armor goes above 10AC whereas the plate stuff can exceed 35-40.

lol the thurg monk armor is better than 10ac the monk tunic is 23 ac so :P :)

This is a very nice item for a newbie monk ... it's magic, so they can attack the wisps without searching high and low for a magic weapon that may be too heavy for them
