Then instead of the low amount of damage noted above, it started getting in hits over 1k hp.

I should have had my merc healer up, going solo with shammy pet, but didn't.

I was running my 85 Vah Shir Shaman Heroic Character on Bertox.

Probably upset the pet by killing the prayermaker. My character resisted the Malosi spell, but not the Malo spell cast by the prayermaker.
