Ruga Drops a cheap dagger or two and two of Flutterwing's sibling's eggs everytime (give the egg to flutterwing to complete flutterwing quest). After that Ruga will always drop one or two pieces of equipment but they will be random. Will either be plate, leather, chainmail, or silk...and will be for either hands, head, wrists, arms, or feet.
You get chest and legs armor from glooming deep quests - burlap leg gear for cocoon silk quest, and burlap chest gear for clearing rats, bats, and nests ... after level 4+ you will get quest to clear out Glooming deep Grunts, Warriors, Wardens, and a Spiritweaver - the reward for this will class specific leg armor (meaning plate, chain, leather, or silk). When you complete the Overlord quest you will receive class specific chest armor (again plate, chain, leather, or silk)
I have 7 level 10's characters running the glooming deep and have never seen leg or chest armor MOB drops, and the best place to get class specific upgrades for the other equip is getting drops in the Jail. Best to bring a few friends (preferably different armor types) and group kill Ruga and his spawned crony's.
I heard once long ago that Ruga is supposed to drop some kinda chainmail coat, like Ruga's Chainmail or something like that, VERY VERY rarely, like once every 1000 kills. Any truth behind this?
I highly doubt it. Gloomingdeep is a newb zone, therefore I doubt SoE would make a chain coat accessible to new characters at this time in the game. Only way that you can get chain or plate armors, is if you put some in the shared bank, and twink the new character. You heard wrong apparently
I have almost a full set of glooming deep plate mail on my bard from doing the tasks in there. They are giving out some pretty nice stuff, I guess they are trying to keep people from twinking. Not bad stats, just under Lambent armor.
