Like basically every mob in SoD, the armor upgrade pieces are the rare drops. Killed him 6 times over a total of probably 8-10 hours camping him. Got 1 armor piece, 2 earrings, and 4 necklaces.
Hi all, Can confirm 4 spawn points: As you come into the zone from top of ramp looking into the zone, the Gobbo in the pit in front of the ramp, The Gobo behind the rocks on the ledge to right front, The Gobbo to the right against wall and The Gobbo to left behind the entrance. The only Gobo I never saw him spawn on was the far left by the small spire. The 2 starting with the one on the right wall seem to spawn more freguently, then the one in the front pit, the least likely was the one behind to the left.
Appears to be a pet-less mage. He cast the following upon my warrior during one fight:
Mala Burning Sand (Mage lvl 62, 980hp nuke) Wrath of the Elements (Mage 55, 350hp nuke +132/tick dot for 5 ticks) Shock of Steel (Mage 57, 1193hp nuke)
and the Big Kahuna:
Essence of Corruption, dot for 3280/tick, 5 ticks. This landed on my warrior 3 times during the fight. May be irresistible, or maybe his 105 resist-corruption just isn't high enough. Saw no indication it's an ae spell, i.e. none of my other toons suffered from it. We fought him tight near the zone-in so if he had any range at all on this spell, and IF it was ae at least one of my other toons would have been damaged.
Must be a level 87 mage spell since PC mages can't cast it. ;)
Like with many caster mobs, he casts so much his melee is rather weak even though he can melee for 4k/swing. Frankly, I'd rather deal with 3280/tick dot damage than regular 4k per shot melee swings.
Wizard stun will interrupt his casting.
Three confirmed spawn spots: most common is goblin PHer directly in front of zone-in steps, on a ledge. Have seen him also spawn to the left, a short distance away next to a big rock, also a goblin PHer. Last time I killed him, out of 5, he spawned immediately to the left of the stairs. I'm guessing he can pop in place of any of the 4 goblin in the zone-in area. The only one I never saw spawn as named was the gob to the right of the stairs.
In 5 kills he dropped 3 ears and 2 necks.
This is an excellent camp. I recommend setting up in corner immediately to right of stairs. No spawn IN the corner. A guard does spawn right in front, close enough to aggro if you're not invis'd. Nothing in the zone-in area sees invis, including the named. Repop timer is exactly 15 minutes. You can clear 4 goblins and 4 guards and if that doesn't take 15 minutes send your puller up a tunnel to pull some more. If your group can handle Field of Scale comfortably, it should be fine here. Mobs hit about 25% harder. They do enrage and flurry so be prepared for some spike damage. I never saw any rampage. My cleric pretty much chained Devout Light, with supplemental healing from druid as needed. Named fight is actually EASIER than the trash, except it takes a little longer. This is because all the trash are warriors and they never suspend their melee to cast.
Only thing I wish I had tested was to see if any Cure Corruption type spell would remove that dot. But it wasn't serious enough problem that I cared.
Any questions on this camp feel free to /tell me on Saryrn.
I'm not usually off by as much as 1 minute. Since I box my group it's usually vital that I get the spawn timers down. Maybe they've changed it or it's got some variability in it?
Also drops "Slaver's Lanyard" a Ranger/Monk/Berz/Rogue Neck item. Can also drop the "wrist/hand" type item for the new armor combines. This mob also has a nasty AE Dot @ 3k per tick iirc.
