King Dronan  

Quick Disclaimer: This all happened on Test. I'm not familiar with how Test .vs. Live works (minus new content), so it may or may not be valid on Live as well.

I was two-boxing in Droga, with one character stationed on the NW area killing for names, and my other toon stationed on the NE area where names are listed...essentially, the two locations mentioned up by the picture.

I never had a single named spawn over 8 hours of camping on the NE area. However, I was able to get most of the names in the NW region (including Dronan) to spawn multiple times.

Copper Hammer is still his common, and the Maul his rare. If he has the maul, he will not have anything equip'd.

If you're wanting these items, it's honestly just a long camp. My toons are 105 and 95, so needless to say I didn't stay still.

Bonus: extra tribute items, and with speed killing constantly, pulled in about a few K per spawn cycle. Not too shabby considering what I was there for.

TL:DR- Camp the NW corner, plan for a possibly long camp.

Just watched him spawn at exactly 742, 1941, -262

He spawned at +17, -198, -171 down on the ground next to the big wooden bridge. I waited to see what spawned in his place and it was "a goblin ice master" and he did roam.

This was tested on the servers vox and phinny with the same results.
The PH for King Dronan is "a goblin cave lord". I believe there is only one PH but I'm not 1000% sure.
Hard part is finding the right goblin cave lord. The PH and King Dronan are not roamers, they will be in a permanent position.
Any roamers that are goblin cave lords will not be the PH.
If you kill a cave lord and it respawns as a totally different mob, then it is not the PH.
gobin cave lords that spawn in the same spot over and over consistently are not the ph either.

The respawn points on the PH and King Dronan are totally random and can be anywhere. Bring a tracker.
It may take awhile to spawn King Dronan, but he can spawn back to back.
Copper hammer is the common loot and the devastating maul is rare. His quest earring drops every time.

After reading many posts on this topic, I'd like to add my own observations. I've found King Dronan up while farming tribute in the zone twice, in as many days (10.26.13 & 10.27.13). Many cave goblin lords were up at the time, and he spawned in areas that cave lords do not seem to spawn. This leads me to conclude that his spawn cycle has nothing to do with goblin cave lords, and he is simply a rare random spawn with many placeholders. I apologize if this conflicts with other opinions. Good hunting.

Has anyone on a progression server been able to nail down what actually spawns him yet? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Went to Droga today to get some tribute items, the King was up in the far southwest part of zone. He was standing on the second floor of the room that is near the ramp by the Food Supplier. Location of spawn -527, 2108. This was a day after the dps merc patch. Have wiped this this zone many times months ago and this is the first time I've ever seen him. Figured I'd post that he still exist and most recent spot sighted. He dropped CHoS and Earing.

Ok here is one thing I can confirm theres no telling where this guy actual spawns it has to be random,where u first enter droga from the invis floor u drop off at right down that corridor there at the end of it where it opens up king was right there killed him he dropped Copper hammer of striking gave to some lowbie in zone :P

Yes, he still spawns. I found him right after a restart, killed him, waited for respawn and found that it's a random spawn elsewhere in the zone. The PH was a goblin cave lord. I tracked him and killed him and it respawned in a 3rd loc. I can only surmise that there is a table of respawn locs that are chosen at random, I kinda doubt it's a truely random location. But since I didn't track it through more than 3 spawns I'm not entirly sure. The King was the only mob I killed in the zone. He did drop the CHoS too.

I have spent over 12 hours in the King room. Ive probaly cleared the room about 100 times; killing nearly 500 of those stupid lil gobbies with my 70 RNG. I have yet to spawn him. The only good thing that has come out of it was that i got my 53 BST a pair of Kingly Boots of Splendor from the other mob down the hall. But i REALLY want a CHoS for my BST. That was my purpose of the trip down there to begin with. Can ANYONE please tell me what i need to do in order to get one? Im gettin tired of killin these silly goblins.

65 mage can solo this mob and the hwole room easy. Just stand outsid door to the left, and cast 65 earth pet. Then outfit pet take out hte two outside, then the two in door. Then use eye of zom to target in room and kill the 5 inside and then its yours. Easy as pie.
