What are these guys for? I stumbled into a crowd of them the other day and almost got my **** handed to me. Anyone know?

I am not sure, just got back to playing EQ1 after an eight month hiatus and to say the least my poor 41 druid did get her **** handed to her... I have been hearing alot of things pertaining to a war, perhaps it has something to do with that.
I think it has more to do with developers with their heads fully inserted into what your druid had handed to her )
