Actually there can be two (2) chests.

One that spawns every time and one that can be spawned by players who have done the Q&A with the blocker turn ins to spawn a 2nd chest with bonus loot in it (such as a 2.5 page).

In going back through my stuff... I am sorry, I can't find the name of either chest.

Some hints on MM, partial strat

I'll drop a few more hints for those working on MM.

There are multiple mobs that have to be dealt with before him, so after triggering you have about 5 min to handle 6(?) mobs. The key to beating them is the clicky items given out by the spirits from tier 2 mobs. Several of them will cast the Garg DT that is used by many gargs in the zone, so be ready to cure.

Once MM becomes active, it starts off as a straight pin and tank fight. He hits like an end expansion boss, a decent step up from OMM. He will occasionally go into a "distracted" and "vunerable" states, where clicks from the bane weapons have different effects. Some are more desireable than others, the DPS casters have a good damage effect on a "vunerable" state click. Its random and semi-rare that these states appear.

Voracious bats will spawn on you just like in the Redfang event. There is a timer for it, which starts off as every 3 min from when they first spawn. That can change depending on who clicks on what state. The first spawn can catch you off guard, since it isn't exactly clear at first when they start. Deal with them the same way as in the Redfang event.

Throughout the fight, a single add will spawn and tends to always spawn at the same spot. At 50%, MM will start to AE death touch everyone in range of him except the main tank and ramp tank. There is no resisting it, only dodging. There is an emote to help with this.

Its a complicated event, and requires the whole raid to respond quickly and know what is going on. However, I would say it was eaiser to figure out than OMM, and you don't have to be concerned that a single person missing a click will wipe a raid like with OMM. If you have broken all the other events in the zone and can survive the climb up the tower to him, then you probably have the force to put him down.

no, i don't know which one. it looked like single target, and i don't recall ever resisting it. it just knocked me all over the room.

we killed the initial guardians pretty fast, and were waiting for him to become active. so i ran up and spammed my </me humps %t> macro and he immediately went active. i survived a couple of rounds and eventually died to single target rampage, but he spammed me with the avatar knockback for the entire fight, about once every minute or two it seemed. my death didn't pass it to anyone else, either. maybe because i didn't zone to bind, i suppose.

Killed him in MM back in 1999.
Killed him again in DPoB.
And it appears he somehow is back from the grave in TBS (Solteris Task #7 is it?)
Does this guy ever frikkin' stay dead? Lol!
Let's not forget the Ro's are also immortal too! (PoP/PoR/TSS/TBS)

MM also made an appearance in PoR. He is also an influence to Venril Sathir, who had connections to the curse of the Nest, in DoN. And let us not for get Innoruuk, who also made appearnces in original PoHate, PoTime, and LoY.

These are gods, and the story must carry on, so thier "death" is no death. Just a way to move the storyline on. To tie everything together.

For everyone wondering why he doesn't give you a faction hit it's because he WANTS YOU TO KILL HIM. by killing him you make him into a full god. The fight isn't too hard compared to some others but he IS still a royal pain to kill if people aren't paying attention.

You no longer get the curses in Demi-Plane once you turn in an AE blocker from each tier 1 mob. Each tier 1 mob drops 6.

What I meant was, after killing Mistmoore, will you be able to not get the Curse of Blood AAs so you no longer have the annoying debuffs from Matriarch Shyra, Draygun, etc.

since the blood aa's stay at 5/5 (which you need for full flagging), i'm assuming you'll get the full detrimental effect if you do blood trials after that. however, blood trials at that point will no longer be necessary since flag pieces drop off tier one events. plus, by the time you can beat mayong mistmoore, the blood trials are a joke, with or without the detrimental effects.

so it really doesn't matter at that point.

After all the years and rumors and myths and stories and everything else related to and caused by Mayong Mistmoore, not to mention all the creatures around the world that will give faction hits TO "Mayong Mistmoore" ... am I the only one who finds it slightly amusing that Mr. Mistmoore himself is not on his own faction?

I understand that he's tied to one of the newer expansions.. but still. If there were a Sargent Slate faction, I would expect Slate to be on it.

It doesn't affect gameplay, no.. but sometimes, it's the little details we see in game that make us enjoy it.

He's pretty easy.

As far as the strat. He hits you with his sword. He has a short AE. If those don't kill you you're good.

Oh and he has adds. but you knew.

I'd farm him more but I'm busy doing Smith Rondo raids for the BiC.

As it seems some people would like to lead you to believe he should be in Field of Bone...DONT buy their stories. He is not quite as hard as OMM as he lacks the hp. But don't ever kid yourself...he is every bit of a God. Hits in 9-13k range, has a VERY nasty aoe that you want to keep your casters away from. Thankfully it has a pretty short range but all the same. He can easily take a 20k tank in a couple rounds so you need a good rotation and decently timed sequence. Make sure you have at least 8 healers as you'll need them when the adds start coming. Get some major dps on mayong. We had 5 wizards manaburning with necros twiching. He's not slowable to my knowledge.

And to address your question of what gear you need...if you're not anguish geared, you won't get demi-keyed....that's just a simple fact. I suggest you use patience as a weapon and gear up..take your time working your way into demi-plane slowly. Learn mob spawns, get the roamers patterns down. Beat the queen and THEN worry about Mistmoore as you won't make it to him without taking her down first.

and to those playing off their godly status....get a life and get real...he's not as hard as OMM but he's DEFINATELY not easy

He's quite easy to figure out compared to some of the encounters needed to get to him. You may have noticed that raid limit is 54 for a few year now and yes, you'd need a full raid of Anguish+ equipped people for him.

Oh, please... just six guilds have beaten Mayong so far, it may be a bit early to spill the beans about him and ruining the fun of figuring it out. Respawn is 5 days btw.

Anyone else notice the press release of the new expansion Prophecy of Ro (notice the mention of a new god) and the downing of Missure Mistmoore? I think they had the Expansion all ready (or nearly ready) and were waiting for someone to down him so they could release it in "line"
What do you think?

RE: Correlation?

Have to agree with you, seems like it. I'm guessing its still a bit off, this may be rushing them, but the press release might've been triggered by his downing? You know, Sony's PR was spawned upon Mistmoore's death.
Whatever the case may be, the first event is most certainly interesting, and I'm trying to keep my hopes up for the second.. those sphere things sound like they could be neat.

if he was/is a demi god, why is he not weaker than the other gods in the planes? Being a demi I would think he would be easier. Sooo, I guess what I'm saying is. Shouldnt they up the strength of the other gods since a demi could probably own all of them?
RE: diety

Another explanation could be that because he's still partially mortal, he can fully manifest himself physically, which full gods can't do. The "real" gods can only manifest in forms with a small fraction of their real power.
RE: diety
# Jan 06 2006 at 2:24 AM Rating: Decent
Its a conflict of interest for the story line vs game play.

Notice he's low level, 75, compared to many of the "true" deities. Still, he's a harder fight, to say the least. This is because Sony needs him to be harder for game play's sake, but the game lore takes a loop hole in sayin that he's weaker due to a lower level.

In all honesty, this is one of those subjects that the less you think into it, the better off you are.
