We just tried the level 60 version of this task (2 level 58's, 2 level 59's). While the rest of this task seemed level appropriate, the Goblin Gardener was a con red that flurried for 1.5k. We expected him to be difficult.. but he seems to hit as hard as the high level version.
This is part of the "A Simple Task" Mission from the good side. The male mission giver on the left in lavastorm is the mission giver.I was in the middle of the mission when I made my previous post. After FAILING I want to give people the heads up on the "A Simple Task" Mission from the Good side so that they don't waste a chunk of their lives as we have.
A Simple Task consists of you zoning into a floating island in Broodlands and obtaining a rare flower. Anyways our group went as so.
65-68 War,Clr,Shm,Brd,Dru,Ench ... Low DPS group hehe but it was the only guildies on at the time. The war in group was a pickup who had played on beta. This comes in handy later.
What to do:
Step 1 - Travleling to Thundercrest Isle
Zone into the Thundercrest Isle in Broodlands. Far West from the Lavastorm zone in. CAREFUL tho...the zone in portal is hometo a Raid mob. BIG Viking lookin **** that had 17 lil goblins with him...count them 17 lol. So be careful and invis up. Nuttin there sees invis as far as we saw.
Step 2 - Finding the Garden
Once in zone your task is to find the Garden in the western section of the zone. Easy enough. Most of the zone is blocked off yo you. I suppose because the rest of it is for other missions. The ogre in group remembered being able to invis thru alot of this in beta. So we invised up and headed straight thru the gate in front of us. Follow the path til it splits. Go left nd take the first left door you come to. Go straight and walk into the building you see ahead. This building is where it all takes place. I wandered the entire zone and couldnt find anything of interest. Careful from here on out. Random drakes see invis. In our case there was one that wandered the halls of this building. Simple building. Just a square hallway that encased a central room. One other hallway at the main back side leading to the exit. There are doorways on the inside of this hall. ALL lead to the central room. To get out go up the ramp at the back of this hallway and go right. There were see invis mobs here but its a short run so just open both doors and run to the exit pad at the back. But at any rate....the central room here is your destination. The garden. Unmistakable. There are 2 pumas on each side of the wall. We set up group near them. They have low aggro range and are easy kills even if ya get aggro. Was the only non roamer spot in the area. The rest of the room had some Kirins'(Horses) and drakes. The drakes stayed on the opposite side of the wall from the pumas and wandered back and forth. The horses are stationary spawns.
Step 3 - Collecting the Flower
Your next task after finding the garden is to collct the flower. BUT you must find a way to transport it safly due to its fragile state. So...DO NOT PLUCK THE FLOWER YET!...we found this out the hard way. More on that later. You must get a 2 slot container from a Goblin Gardner called a Inscribed Pot and a Drake fertilizer from the Master Courier and THEN pluck the flower from the garden and combine them to ensure the flower doesnt wilt before you return to lavastorm. I cannot stress enough...do not step into the garden lookin for the flower. With that said...The flower is a little red mushroom looking ground spawn. There are 3 sections to this garden and for us the flower was on the farside one. It was sitting on a plant leaf. Not hard to miss a red dot in all that green. but don't even worry about this until you have the other 2 parts. Why? Because some jackass developer decided to let it wilt. Yes...wilt...in my bag. As soon as I collected the "Dark Lady" from the gound, which was no drop by the way, I got a message basicall telling me I need to hurry before it wilts. I walked around for about an hour before we got the parts we needed then went to combine tham and couldnt. My Dark Lady changed to a Dead Dark Lady. It wilted :( I had received the wilt message about 5 - 10 times and not 2 min after the last wilt message I found the last piece. 2 min too late. So pick the flower up last please.
Step 4 - Goblin Gardner
Now that you know what to look for you will need a container to put it in. This comes from a triggered named called Goblin Gardner who spawned for us back out in the hallway once we started killing mobs in the garden. Does not show on track so don't bother. I would bet he was up when we walked into the garden but we just didnt walk all the way around the hallway circling the garden to see him. His lvl vvaries per the average lvl of your group. Pure melee, doesnt summon, IS root/snare/slow/cripable with low resists. Hit for 1200ish. Intended to be a range fight I assume. I kited him down after group wiped. Looted the Pot. Was able to invis pull him to group past mobs btw.
Step 5 - Maste Courier
The courier is a random spawn in the garden. Not sure if he had a PH or was just triggered because when we saw him he was roaming. But from what I cna tell he will spawn in the garden and stay there. Is a horse model if that helps. Same exact info as Gardner. Just hit a lil harder. Range fight him to make life easier and loot the Fertilizer.
Step 6 - Combining and Finishing
This is where we got when we realized that the flower died. I assume you just combine them in the container and return it to the mission giver. This would be a fast 1 hour tops mission if you get luck on the courier spawn as long as you know what you are doing.
Just a FYI on zone info. Most mobs are mized melee/caster who like to CH/Gate. Most run at low health so lay down the snare. Not many see invis but don't get careless. Only certain horses and drakes saw invis. The dervs and giants never did. And on another note....The container and Fertilizer are MAGIC LORE. Not no drop...not no rent. SO..Gonna try to reform group tonight and try again. Should be able to just run in and loot the fower ground spawn and go back to camp. I will post what happens hehe.

I went back tonight. Already had the Pot and Fertilizer. So Group zoned in to Thundercrest...I alone invised and ran to garden and looted flower. Gardner was up in hallway already BTW. Looted flower...combined...ran back to zone and we ported back to Lavastorm. This time the female mission giver gave the mission not the male so I imagine its random or maybe resets after patches or something of that effect. ANYWAYS...received my 31 crystals and token for doin a 7 min mission! hehe
Goddamn I love sony. After the patch last night or whenever it was they nerfed the **** outta this mission. First change...trippled the amount of see invis mobs. Second change, named are now visable on track...which is cool and all but on to number Three: Named now summon and can quad for 1800....YAY...After doing this mission before I laid down the strat and went in to pull...had my kiting songs up. BAM summoned hit me fr 1800 , 1400 , 800 , 1300 in one quad. Not alot fo HP but its still a crock. This was the only mission we were able to complete. I guess its back to not having a mission I know how to do. Seems sony only caters to the needs of the Uber Time and higher guilds. WTF
I'm not even elemental flagged and I can tank the gardner without any issues. 8560hp/1733ac unbuffed. Saying that you have to be time flagged to do these missions is exaggerating a tad.
Should also mention that the gardner flurries as well.
The mob lvl range in this zone is determined by the average lvl of your group...when we did this guy with toons from 65 - 68 the goblin and courier were lvl 68. They were hitting for 1300 and arent mezzable...BUT are snare/rootable...doesnt summon..is slowable...and has low resists...so after my group wiped I kited him....was pie....the courier is the same way.
