For anyone else who saw the 10+ year-old argument below and was curious: Darkpaw Games do not seem to have a public repository of patch notes that far back, but according to Allakhazam's archive, /rewind was introduced in the March 23, 2004 patch.

Stuck!?!

A lot of players (especially the larger classes - trolls, ogres, barbs etc) have been getting stuck in the tents in Paludial Caverns. The only solutions are to camp out and back in, or cast this spell.

Or, read the instrustins for the game, and use the /rewind command, works rather well

I didn't know there were instructions.

And when he posted that /rewind wasn't in the game yet.

pvp

definately a pain when you're in tight quarters and you have tons of barbarians in the way. I especially like it in pvp. It makes it harder for people to see me, and if I'm on a short I can see him much better. =)

It's rather useful in PvP as well, for obvious reasons.
Question
# Aug 21 2003 at 12:30 PM Rating: Decent
And the difference between this spell and Diminution is.....?
RE: Question
# Nov 13 2003 at 3:43 PM Rating: Decent
Diminution does the whole group - Shrink is for a single target within your present group.
whats advantage?

sorry entered before i got done. where is the advantage to being small the mobs still hit the same amout & just as hard,"since on the subject" where is the advantage to being large you get no extra damage added to your attacks. just curios?

Untill you have been a Troll who is on the run and the only thing thats stopping you from getting killed and zoning is a door way. You wont beable to understand what its like to have a sore forhead.
Horses
# Apr 21 2003 at 2:14 PM Rating: Excellent
People with horses beg for shrink because when they are gnome-sized the horse's head doesn't get in the way.

When raiding in places like The Hole, Plane of Hate, Plane of Innovation, it makes it much easier for everyone to move around if everyone is double-shrunk (about 1/3-1/2 normal size). Now you can fit 2x-3x as many people around the mobs to kill them faster, plus everyone is less likely to be stepping all over each other.

On smaller mobs, this will increase your DPS as more melee are able to "reach" the mob. Or, you can look at it as the melee will spend less time running around trying to get close enough to reach the mob (even on larger mobs with a larger melee radius).

Generally, you won't want to shrink the MA, SA, enchanters, or any line of sight casters (wizards and mages using bolt spells, rangers using their bows). Everyone else should be shrunk as tiny as possible (beastlords and shaman can do the honors).

Usually Shrink is for raids; you cast it on the larger people so the area is less congested. You can also use it to help people get to places where they normally couldn't (ie, shrink an ogre so he can get through a small doorway).
