Sparkle not a guide
# Nov 07 2003 at 5:55 PM Rating: Decent
I dont have this spell but I have Bear Hide boots that give a focus effect of 20% extra duration on beneficial spells. My boots sparkle on almost every spell even though it does not actually increase the duration of most of them, for example they sparkle when I cast shield of fire which is definately NOT a beneficial spell and the shield of fire lasts no longer than usual. So what I am saying is that IMHO just because your focus item sparkles it does not necessarily mean the spell has been enhanced.
wont work?

golden ear stud works on root (heard on pc side this was patched) but doesnt work on enchanter's choke spell, any thoughts on this? choke is a DOT.
RE: wont work?

from the data shown above, burning affliction only affects spells from the conjuration area. for example, the poison bolt necro spell would be affected, but the choke spell wouldnt because it is in the alteration area. it doesnt really matter whether ot not its a DOT, as long as its in the conjuration area it will be affected by this.

Name of spell & misc info
# Dec 01 2002 at 10:39 AM Rating: Decent
Just an FYI. The *scroll* for this spell is named Phantasmal Protection, and is level 58. When I scribed it into my spellbook, the name changed to Transom's Phantasmal Protection.

Does not appear to require any component!

Dropped off both Rhag 1 & Rhag 2. But PC Vendors in the Bazaar seem to sell it fairly frequently.

The small but noticeable mana regen; the component free casting, and the fact that it stacks with most HP buffs (not PotC or PotG) make this a nice spell indeed. :)

I have nightmares about Moss Snakes that can cast a level 58 rare-drop mage spell.

Works for Tash
# Sep 03 2002 at 2:36 PM Rating: Default
I can confirm that restriction 5 is not correct. My Golden Ear Stud "sparkles" whenever I tash a mob with my lvl 11 chanter. Tash has no HP reduction as far as I know -- only lowers a mob's MR.

My two Golden Stud Earrings will sparkle when using Root, so I confirm it as well.

it says only damage dealing spells like DoT spells right, well.... it says when i cast root, your hollowed bone bracers sparcle or whatever so that must mean it works for DoT's amd spells like root.

it says:5: Restriction: Only applies to 'Hit Points (HP)' spells

HUH? It goes off when I root stuff. And it DOES seem to make my root last longer.

Could be an oversight seeing as how druid/ranger, and necro roots all have a damage component.

You just get to ride in because it is probably coded as cleric root causes hp dam of *0*...

Just a thought...

This thing isn't sold on vendors. They're on crack. How much do you think it is worth, tho, on the open market?

This is a Velious song, where can it be bought?
RE: Location?
# Apr 15 2002 at 12:37 PM Rating: Decent
The gnomes in Iceclad sell this spell. Loc is 4500, 1500. I don't recall it being very expensive, under 10 plat I think. The gnomes there sell all the level 34 velious spells.

Until level 39 this song actually gives the same amount of mana regen as the level 32 mana song, so you might as well use it :) Plus you can work on your stringed intruments skill during downtime with this one.
