Much easier to combine in Thurgidan IMO. Items u need are in same zone making it easier.

Much better to use the Guild Hall... if yer guilded. The stat buff helps alot and since GH makes yer buff seems not ticking down yah can do all em combine with full buff on

I still dont see a post on what forge is needed to do the combine, ive tried in PoK and in the guild hall , neither forges work, guess im headed to thurg to see if it works there

Never mind, it works in a regular forge, i was only using 1 piece of velium instead of two lol

Way to get to 222
# Aug 01 2004 at 9:38 AM Rating: Default
I just wanted to let all know that in under 6hrs I managed to go from 188 to 199 using thease, and I had to do a 2 1/2hr Velium farm in CC during that time. Im pritty sure that neer the end. I got the hell lvl treatment. I had 20 combines w/ no skillup. That was not par @ all for how I was goin. So I stopped as soon as I realized I was stuck on a hell spot, and will be going back later.I am a Kittie beastlord. So you know my Int sux. I have my Str @ 224 currently wile smithing. I will be adding to that total VERY soon. As far as Im concerned this is the ONLY way yo skill up @ this lvl. I was stuck w/ no idea whre to go next to get some points rolling and smoeone showed me thease little sweet things. Hope this helps you out.

Are you sure about that? The trivial is defined as the highest level to which you can skill up using a recipe. You can reach 222 skill making EVB; hence, the trivial is 222. If you attempt to combine it when your skill is already 222 or higher, you will get a message that you can no longer advance your skill with this combine; you don't get this message when combining at skill 221. This has been confirmed by countless people across all servers.

Are you sure you remembered to put the Enchant Velium scroll in the forge? Most cases of misreported trivials turn out to be the person forgetting the scroll and making normal velium bits instead, which are WAY lower in trivial.

This is a skill-restricted combine: Minimum skill to attempt is 165 (including geerlok; 158 + 5% can attempt). The trivial has been repeatedly confirmed as 222.

This makes a great smithing skillup route. Quite cheap if you farm your own velium and make your own tempers, and it compares favorably to the new LDoN skillup routes if you need to buy the velium or tempers.

Since the result is no-drop, though, you can't sell them back for any cash. The result is also lore, which leads to a nice trick. Don't destroy your first success; instead, keep it. As you make more, your successes will give the message that you can't have duplicate Lore items, but you'll still get skillups, and you'll save yourself a few clicks to destroy your successes too! :)

After you get to 220 with this recipe, use the first part of the aid grimel quest to skill up to 227 if you are so inclined.

If you farm your own velium, you eventually get very good at it. I would say that farming velium has become a greater source of income than all my other tradeskills combined =).

I agree with you about a very good source of income. I venture to Velks all the time on my 66 Shaman to get the Guilded Brooch, SCHW, the wristband, silks and all the velium I can hold. The velium tends to sell the same night on my trader at a nice price of 55 to 70pp a piece, brick or block. Not to mention if I choose to sell the hand wraps or wrists for 3500 to 6k each. Velium is profitable in more ways than 1 in Velks.
Question on this recipe
# Jan 07 2004 at 8:44 AM Rating: Default

I have a question on this recipe. Do you use the spell to enchant the velium bits, or do you actually put the spell scroll into the forge?

You actually put the spell scroll into the forge.

Thanks very much for the quick reply.

Another question. Does the scroll get consumed on the combine?

Yes, the scroll is consumed on combine. You need a new scroll for each attempt.
