This task begins with Ylatra the Vassal in the Korascian Warrens. She is located in the chasm just east of the clearing with Nedsin Tabbel on the western side of the zone. You must have completed Nedsin's three tasks before she'll speak with you further.

It is also recommended you request Ylatra's task "Champions No More" in addition to this one, as the two have steps which overlap.

Without Nedsin's tasks:

You say, 'Hail, Ylatra the Vassal'

Ylatra the Vassal says 'You need to prove your dedication to our cause before I can discuss such matters with you.'

After having completed Nedsin's tasks:

You say, 'Hail, Ylatra the Vassal'

Ylatra the Vassal says 'Hello, _____. I see you've met one of my former compatriots. Nedsin meant well, but he's more of a burden on me than an aid. You've at least proved that you don't jump at shadows. Do you think you can [prove] you're worth trusting?'

You say, 'I can prove it'

Ylatra the Vassal says 'You can help in one of two ways. One will [harm] the effectiveness of Murdunk's army, and one will [humiliate] him in the eyes of his god. Which would you prefer?'

You say, 'How can we harm them?'

Ylatra the Vassal says 'You probably noticed, but food is particularly difficult to come by here. Murdunk's army needs a constant supply in order to operate effectively. If you can cut their [supply lines] that will greatly disrupt their plans.'

You say, 'Their supply lines?'

Ylatra the Vassal says 'The ogres are the most populous of the races in Murdunk's army, and I've observed the other ones tend to be relegated to the more menial tasks. This could create some [opportunities] for us to exploit.'

You say, 'Opportunities?'

Ylatra the Vassal says 'Seek out their weak links and destroy them. This will harm their effectiveness and force them to slow their offensive.'

You have been assigned the task 'Disrupt the Siege'.

An army runs on its stomach, and Murdunk's is no exception. By striking at the support staff, we can greatly reduce their overall effectiveness.

Kill 1 of their orc chefs 0/1 (Korascian Warrens)

(The mob you want is a Rallosian messcook.)

Kill 2 of the catapult operators 0/2 (Korascian Warrens)

Kill 2 shocktroopers 0/2 (Korascian Warrens)

Kill 3 marauders 0/3 (Korascian Warrens)

Kill 3 scouts 0/3 (Korascian Warrens)

All of these mob types are found in the army outside the Rathe Council Chambers.

Upon your last kill:

Your faction standing with Toskirakk Slaves has been adjusted by 28.
Your faction standing with Toskirakk Slavers has been adjusted by -28.
Your faction standing with Mitius, Herald of Change has been adjusted by 29.

This completes the task.

Bard pulling Shocktroopers
# Sep 12 2012 at 10:41 AM Rating: Decent
The shocktroopers portion of this quest is a good opportunity for bards to practice their pulling techniques. As an 81 bard, I was able to single pull the shocktroopers without clearing any other mobs, albeit with various deaths and do-overs trying to get it right. Here is what finally worked for me:

Set up camp in the safe area north of the messcook area and south of the catapult area, on the east side near the boulder. Position bard to the south of the pit full of goblins and shocktroopers on the west side, just out of agro range of the goblins (large agro range). Pop your eye of zomm from the singing steel helm and use it to pacify all of the shocktroopers, then quickly tag the front goblin. Run the goblins south through the messcook area and fade. Make your way back to the pit and tag one of the shocktroopers, causing all of them and any remaining bystanders to agro. Run them south through the messcook area and fade. At this point, what you have accomplished is putting most of the goblins on a different schedule from the shocktroopers, as regards walking back to the pit. Run back to camp and target the shocktrooper who is farthest behind in walking back to the pit. Mez him and immediately fade. If your timing is right, all the other mobs should now head back to the pit and out of agro range and you can single tag the mezzed shocktrooper.

Rinse and repeat for your 4 shocktroopers.

Maybe more experienced bards can share an easier method. My 3 box group of level 81's had to single pull or at most 2 pull in order to survive, so I needed to figure out this pull in order to finish the quest.
bard > monk

Easy quest, as long as no lame Rng is slumming in zone HS'ing everything in sight. Having a bard with you instead of a monk makes the pulls trivial at 85.

Soloing Disrupt the Siege

As an 85 necro I was able to solo this entire mission. It was very difficult but doable. You'll require the Death Peace 2 AA and the Encroaching Darkness AA. I would even say the Orb of Tishan from OMM is required to prevent any root or darkness resists. These Rallosians can pretty much take me down in a single round of combat.

The assault is made from two to three different camps. The first camp is in the hallway south of where Murdunk and the Discordian Agents are. There is a static Rallosian Provost spawn there and a wanderering provost.

Root rot the wanderer when he's standing in between the static provost spawn and the other static provost farther south down that hallway. Then, root rot the static provost.

Now you have a clear area to pull some of the other mobs from Murdunk's camp. You should be able to get the messcook and enough marauders for the quest. You can also get the names for the quest "Champions No More" when you do this. Basically darkness AA your target, run up the hallway and FD. Wait for aggro to clear and pick off your target solo.

Keep your mind out for the respawn rates of the two provosts that live in that hallway (the static and the wanderer) because if they pop you are basically dead.

The hardest part are the shocktroopers and the catapult operators. You do this from the 2nd camp area which is along a small band of safe area past the mobs in Murdunk's area but before the closest catapult to Murduk at where the forces arrayed outside the Rathe portal are. One side of the cave has a large rock, the other side has a fallen pillar. This is a safe area from any wanderers. Do your darkness and fd madness, starting with killing the rallosian soldier/scout standing near Catapult Morg Operator. Drag him into that safe band and root rot. Do the same for Morg. You have to be careful when you pull these guys, if you are standing too far away they turn around and run to the other Rallosians causing an even larger train. The catapult chief and the loader roam around, you can either wait for them to path away, or FD/Darkness pull.

You don't have to kill two different Catapult X Operators, you can kill the same one twice. This is probably the best option for a solo necromancer. The shocktroopers are probably the hardest because all the fodderlings aggro at the same time. You can try clearing out a few of them by FD pulling them into the safe band, but you probably will not be able to kill enough of them before they start to respawn. They are not permanently aggro linked, so if you can pull the shocktroopers out far enough using Encroaching Darkness and Death Peace, it can be done.

The final step are the Rallosian scouts. Their description says they are immune to runspeed changes but this has never happened to me. Soldiers and Scouts share spawn points, so to get Scouts to appear you have to kill Soldiers too. If you are lucky, you'll get a few scouts trying to get Catapult Operator Morg. If you are done in that area you can move to a third camp which is between the very first catapult (the one that does not have an operator) and the campfire with the giant spawn and the archers on the ledge overlooking. There is a wandering provost again which you should take out and then a few Rallosian soldier spawns within reach. That should get the last ones for you.

Good luck!

We were working on this last night.Got most of it done, but still need 3 shocktroopers and 5 marauders. The biggest problem we're having is after
the monk pulls and fd's, the rogue tags one after they start walking back.
But, many, many times, they walk back in groups, making it difficult to
pull singles and end up with more agro than we can handle.
The one shocktrooper and marauder that we did get, was a fluke, but I hope
we can get the rest tonight :)

What's the minimum level to get this and the other Warrens VoidE access tasks? I tried tonight with my 74 ranger but get a message saying she's too low.

But killing some of the goblins will spawn a scout. Pretty easy around the entrance of the Warrens.

Confirmed. Killing goblins anywhere in the zone can spawn a scout. I also noticed that scouts can also be ogres occasionally and they count toward this quest.
