This task follows Nedsin's previous task, "Find Your Allies".
You say, 'Hail, Nedsin Tabbels' Nedsin Tabbels says 'Thank you for finding these items from my [friends]. I'll just have to fend for myself here now.' You say, 'Your friends?' Nedsin Tabbels says, 'Yes, slaves like me. Although you found some items from them, there are others that could still use your [assistance].' You say, 'How can I offer my assistance?' Nedsin Tabbels says 'They may have been under the thrall of Korascian Prime for so long that their minds may have been broken by now. If this is the case, please put them out of their misery.' You have been assigned the task 'Whom Frogs Destroy'. Nedsin Tabbels has asked you to locate and rescue five prisoners that are around Korascian Prime. If they resist your aid, put them out of their misery. Rescue 5 thralls from Korascian Prime 0/5 (Korascian Warrens) Several thralls can be found in the lair of the giant frog, Korascian Prime (in the caverns northwest of Nedsin's location). A successful hail will result in: a Korascian thrall says 'You have saved me! Thank you kind adventurer.' An unsuccessful attempt will result in: You say, 'Hail, a Korascian thrall' a Korascian thrall says 'Save me? You are the one that will need saving now!' a Korascian thrall says, 'Enough is enough, you will not take me!' ...And the thrall will attack, hitting for a max ~3,500. Be advised: Upon hailing a thrall, nearby mobs will attack you. The hail seems to enlarge the aggro range of mobs. What a backwards way to fix a quest. They turned a rescue quest into a kill quest.

In their update to shorten the SoD progression, they finally fixed the thralls. If you hail it, and it attacks, you still get credit for "freeing" it after it dies. They will still sometimes not attack and despawn. Also to note is that they shortened the spawn time on the Thralls dramatically.
IF they want people to buy GOLD why not just drop the requirement of these supposed "Solo" quests. You can't find anybody in game that will actually group to do this type of stuff anymore. Been trying to get a group for days and all I hear are "I had my friends lvl 100 walk me through that" or people offering to sell me their help. Guess I am going back to silver as the only reason I wanted GOLD was for a better merc. Been trying to do this with my 82 Mage and the trash just hits too hard for pet to tank. J1 cleric merc and myself casting heals can't keep the pet up and I have max defense/offense AA's for my pet. Seems like these quests hsould have the weak con enemies or just get removed all together..

You are trying to go from J1 mercs straight to J5 at 82 solo and wonder why you are having problems. May be possible for you at 85, but would likely still benefit greatly from doing the progression and getting leveled up and higher mercs in the process. I started at 80 got the first level or 2 and then didn't get the J4 until 85. Haven't tried to go back for the J5 yet, but I assume that it will be MUCH easier for me than when I tried it originally at 82/83. Yes the solo part of this theme sucks as I will have to do each quest for each of my toons, but given that once I have J5 mercs, I won't have to worry about merc progression ever again (except the merc AA's of course).
lol this a hard quest, not only due you have the mobs you hail will some times attack but their is a fast respawn and need to keep clear the area.
Alwasy needed a group at low level unless you can level and clear that area your self molo.
you have a couple of choices;
help others - What i did was level up and i kept finding peeps asking for help on the lower quests and i join them

If you have a monk, use your Echo line to mez the thrall before hailing it on another character. If it's successful, it'll poof, if it agro's, it'll stay and forget you after a minute or two.

Easy way to do this if you are doing for lower level alts who can't take the hits is this:
First, clear the room.
Next, engage mob with your main or send pet, whatever. While that is happening, run up with your alt and hail during fight. The Thrall will either pop (update task) or your main or his/her pet then kills it. Saves a lot of time from Call Hero and deaths if stuff is not timed correctly.

Keivan was spot on. Having an enchanter/bard does work wonders but even then as some have stated there is about a 2 minute wait if the npc goes hostile. I have had some of the same stubborn npcs agro 4 times in a row. Very frustrating when you know respawns are around the corner and you just want to get it over with especially if your doing this for many characters. EDIT: You don't need to wipe agro from the mob after mezzing it. You can do the hail first and then if the mob doesn't disappear it would go hostile but since its mezzed it can't attack. That is when you would mem wipe it. Just a little easier this way then possibly having to mem wipe it twice.

I use my ranger, and Blusterbolt to clear aggro. It works very well, and I've walked lots of people through this task. When hailing the thrall's to Korascian Prime's left, since there are two very close together, I cast Harmony on one before hailing the other thrall to keep it from attacking too.

If you have access to an ench/bard do the following:
1- mez
2- Mem blur
3- Hail
if it doesn't go poof it means it will agro you if it wasn't mez other wise you will get updates
1- mez

Mem blur works wonders if hail fails...
I been relatively lucky with casting COH from the portal in ramp on the toon doing the hail. Run to mob, mage casts coh (timing is ultra critcal), drop invis, hail, and poof back to ramp.

One of the thralls near Prime spawned into a named, Shem Saldon. He will aggro if you are near him and hail another thrall.
Spawn Timer on Thralls is 20 minutes. There's only 5 of them. That must have sucked when this thing was camped. It isn't now.
Casters can bind in Warrens. Right next to Nedsin is a safe spot, not too far. It's a 2 minute timeout between hails anyways.
That advice on cast gate then hail is GOLDEN!! omgz was in a group for an hour died 4 times clearing, because I suck, then I do this invis - gate - hail thing, only die once. 1 r0ck.
So suppose you have a gate cast time of 3.8. Cast gate, count to 3 (1, 2, 3 no Monty Python business ><. the /h One of 3 things will happen:
1) Oh thank you blah blah blah, ok 1 down
2) Help me, you suck! or something, dunno I was gone like, bam
3) the mobs are 10 feet away and joo die (that only happened once, I saved him for last :-D
Now when you gate after a hostil Thrull. He resets and CAN become a happy obliging Thrull 2nd go round. And he will stil be there b/c you didn't kill him.

Nightmares Post got me thinking.
Okay, a few things to know about this one that will help a lot.
1) There is approximately a 2 minute time out on hails - once you hail successfully, you can't get another successful hail for roughly 2 minutes (bit less). The mobs just don't respond at all.
2) Nightmares observation about having someone else with agg making hails more successful appears to be dead on. However, pets (including proc pets) appear to qualify for this.
3) There is a lock out timer on this - 5 hours and some change.
4) there are 5 thralls - 4 in the room with the frogs / spiders, and 1 at the entrance
5) If you have the Expediant Recovery aa and a buddy with Call of the Wild, this takes less then 12 minutes to complete (for one person).

if your a caster bind somewhere safe in zone. cast gate and right before it goes off hail.

How can u bind here since it's not a city?
Casters can bind anywhere unless the zone is specifically flagged so that they cannot.

Found that if u have a mage you can run through this rather quickly as well...
Just set the mage in a safe spot and have him start casting coth. at about 2 seconds remaining u hail the Thrall. it either depops or you get clear of agro.

The keyword to starting this mission is actually "assistance" and NOT "help."
Taking some information from this thread I found a work around on this task. First off yes, FD works. If hail goes bad just FD, clear agro, wait a bit and try again till it works. However, if you have someone other than yourself pull, get agro, then you hail, you will get the update and the mob will de-spawn. I did this with a full group and had 100% success rate, may of been lucky but it worked for me.

So another group member hailed a thrall and took agro, after I hailed I got an update and he depopped. Another approach, hope it helps

If you are attacked by the thrall instead of it despawning, a quick mez and mem blur will reset the 'status' of it. Wait a few minutes, then hail again. Sometimes it will take 2 or 3 tries before you'll get the update. If you don't have a class that can do that monk/ench whatev... You'll just need to kill them.

also.... "the major bottleneck of tosk progression" took me less then an hour to do for two toons, this is cake, no bottleneck here
Respawn timer seemed to be about 20mins to me
