Be very careful on this mission to find and loot every single corpse. As an enchanter I just spent 3 hours soloing this mission, and while I only lost 2 charmed pets ( they poof immediately if they die while charmed ), it would appear one of them had the drop I needed to win. I cleared the entire zone except for the korlach himself - had over 20 skins, 6 tongues, but only 3 guts - which leads me to believe only 4 spawn with the event. Talk about gettin' the shaft. That is really lame.

This group task is the third in a series of four (plus a raid) and begins with Widdlethorpe Gemfinder in the Stoneroot Falls at approximate location -65, -1200.
You say, 'Hail, Widdlethorpe Gemfinder' Widdlethorpe Gemfinder says 'Just as I expected. You were able to take control of a Korlach with the power of this coral. We need to [move forward] with our research.' You say, 'Move forward?' Widdlethorpe Gemfinder says 'We need to learn as much as we can about the creatures in the Korlach's lair. By exploring the lair we can gain valuable knowledge of the Korlach. Do you want to [explore the lair] again _____?' You say, 'I will explore the lair.' You have been assigned the task 'Discovering the Secret'. The direction to the entry to your instanced zone(s) have been marked on your compass. Find an entrance to the Korlach's Lair 0/1 (Stoneroot Falls) To learn more about the Korlach's Lair you need to examine the creatures that inhabit the area. You need to enter the lair and collect a few samples from the different creatures that roam the lair. Collect a few samples of witheran skin 0/4 (Lair of the Korlach) Collect a few samples of Basilisk tongues 0/4 (Lair of the Korlach) Collect a few samples of the witheran feeder gut 0/4 (Lair of the Korlach) These items drop with decent frequency from mobs in the zone. Make sure to loot all corpses because mobs in the instance do not respawn. Once you've collected all 12 items, the dark mystical chest in the Basilisk cavern can be opened. It contains one item of loot (listed below). The witheran skin and guts drop of the normal witherans. The basilisk drops were 1 on 1 for us (only 4 kills needed).
You can try bypassing the first room (where you zone in) but there's normally see invis mobs in the middle, and you'll have to (partly) clear this cave.
I always clear the next tunnel, because it's only a few mobs and there might be a trap in there.
The second room can be bypassed, but you'll have to at least kill the see invis mobs in there. I recommend pulling this room to the entrance.
After the see invis mobs are dead, you can invis up till the second tunnel, and clear from there.
There are multiple traps (or one that goes of a lot) in the 3rd room (the one with the left and right exit).
Take the right exit, kill the basilisks, loot the chest, evac out and do the turn ins.
Took our group (DoN/Time/Uqua geared Pal,Cle,Sha,Nec,Dru,Ran) about 1.5 hours to finish.

completed entire event last week, then while most of group received gear on their cursor, others did not, and have never done the event, and was not zoning.
