Bakrishal is located in the caves next to a Beastlord guildmaster named Bordag.

You say, 'Hail, Bakrishal'

Bakrishal says 'Whats do yuz wants? Yuz come to mez to lern bout speshul armorz? If'n yuz ar a Beastlord, yuz kan lern to kraft yur own armor, yuz just needz da recipe. Ar yuz a [Beastlord]?'

You say, 'I am a Beastlord'

Bakrishal says 'Mez tink dat yuz were. Letz begin yur traineeng. Da furst ting dat yuz needz to do is gather da itemz dat will be uzed in da krafteeng of da armor and den yuz can kraft dem in dis majikal assembly kit.'

You'll receive an Assembly Kit of Scale.

You say, 'What armor?'

Bakrishal says 'Da itemz you will needz to gather will be all ober da Feerrott. Dese itemz will be hard for yuz to gather, dey come from some of da meanest tings in da Feerrott. Once yuz are redy to begin, tell mez da piece dat yuz wantz to kraft and mez will give yuz da recipez dat yuz will need when making da armor. I have recipez for [Caps], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Boots], [Leggings], [Gloves] and [Tunics].'

You say, 'What tunics?'

Bakrishal says 'Da tunic is a gud piece to have, it protektz yuz from all da beatingz dat you get if you fight in da Feerrott. If yuz want to kraft a tunic, yuz need to gather one yellow lizard scale, two pristine lizard scales, one long lizard tail, and two black spider silks, and kraft dem into dis here majikal assembly kit to get yur tunic material. Den yuz take dat material to a loom wit dis pattern to make da tunic.'

You will receive a Breastplate Pattern of Scale.

Fungus drops off both lizardmen and spiders/spiderlings. Lizard scales and talons seem to drop equally off any lizard on either side of the river, whether in a camp or not.

After you gather the items you need for each piece, you combine them in the kit to get the appropriate material. When you've done that, place the material in a sewing kit along with the pattern that Murak gave you for that piece. This is a no-fail, Tailoring combine and will result in the finished piece of armor.

Yellow Scales aren't rare now

Well having just played a session from level 3 to level 7 (7 hours thirty minutes) and completing this newbie armour set...

I picked up in total 13 yellow lizard scales. There were also some for sale at the traders both in Oggok and in the Feerott itself.

Admittedly I was simply circuiting the four lizardman camps on the east side of the river trying to avoid the marsh bears.

The hardest to get item was the pristine lizard talons. I also only managed to come across one tree snake in all that time so cannot as yet complete the final task.

That said I am not even going to use the breastplate the ruthless armour is far superior to this and much easier to get hold of.

I had a very hard time finding tree snakes for this quest, at least in the Feerott. But: there were LOADS of them in the Southern Desert of Ro, close to the Wayfarer Camp... at least before the Desert of Ro/Oasis of Marr revamp. Maybe you should give it a try...

I can confirm the rarity of the yellow scale drops have just completed my second complete set of beastlord armor. One for my beastlord and then finishing my neice's set as a 6 year old's patience is long exhausted before a yellow scale drops.

In total, a month's effort, By contrast, the Warrior's was done in just over an hour.

My new address is care of the local mental institute where I can often be found drooling in the corner and attacking anything in yellow.
Drop rate for Yellow Lizard Scale is a showstopper for this

The Ogre beastlord newbie quests would be great... if it was actually possible to get the drops =/

The problem is the Yellow Lizard Scale -- even for a 'rare' drop in a newbie armor quest these are stupid rare. Problem is, these aren't supposed to be the 'rare' item -- you need one for every piece.

Being a bit of a ********* (and just to make sure it wasn't a bad streak with the RNG), I hunted these drops until level nine. In that time I killed 111 lizardman broodlings, 45 foragers, 48 scouts, 42 mystics, 7 watchers and 7 warriors and numerous other newbie mobs. I collected enough drops to make complete sets of ALL three other Ogre classes: Shaman, Warrior and Shadowknight.

The number of Yellow Lizard Scales I looted: just one. :( That works out to the same effort to make 1 complete set of BST armor as 24 complete sets of other class armor. Yikes.

My conclusion is that the drop rate (or perhaps the recipes) are bugged, and I've sent the bug info to Sony. Meanwhile, I suggest you avoid these quests unless you are even more masochistic than I am.

Very good post swarren.

Sounds like I have my work cut out for me on my newbie ogre bst.

I'm curious though -

a. what does the armor graphic look like, and

b. what color is it?

The icon seems to hint that it looks like plate. If so - that would more than make up for the lousy stats - I could just augment lousy stats later if I *really* wanted to keep the armor.

But having an ogre bst in plate - that would be a very scary-looking toon indeed.

If it doesn't look like plate, is there any armor with a plate graphic that an ogre beastlord could wear? I can't afford good stats, so I'm more concerned with awesome graphics instead - may sound dumb but that's how it is.

Thanks in advance for the reply!

Just thought I'd update real quick for folks who didn't know -

a. The armor has a leather graphic, even though the picture shows a plate breastplate.

b. The color is a dark, reddish-brown.

I'm going to assume that the other pieces have the same tint and leather grpahic.

I personally decided to stick with my tree weave, as AC and STR is more important to me than wisdom and a little extra hp and mana.
