16th Anniversary: Pub Crawl  

Just ran this with my two boxes: 105 Cleric and 105 Mage. Here's a few things I found along the way.

I choose to make Faydwer Schnapps for the drinking contest. Sent my foraging druid out to LFay for a couple stacks of Sylvan Berries, and then to Steamfont for a stack of Steamfont Spring Water.

To talk to Brasse, I had to drink until I was near max drunk and then hand her a stack of Ogre Swill. She gave me back 5 of them and then gave me the quest. Remember to say "worthy" to ask for a dwarf disguise if you are hated in Kaladim. (Evil cleric is, human mage was fine)

For the drinking contest, I was already drunk and read the notes that I just had to get Tsann more drunk. I gave him drinks without drinking myself. Ended up giving him the whole stack of Faydwer Schnapps, then said "win". He sent me to the boyfriend. Un-equipped my weapon and shield, and fought the guy. He's no higher level than anyone else in Kaladim, guess 40-50s? Easy fight.

To port to Abyssmal, hailed the Magus and she said as a friend of Brasse I know what she likes. Gave her the stack of Elven Wine, and she gave it all right back. But she was suddenly drunk and would port my group.

Caught up with the bard in Abyssmal, and I was still drunk enough I just had to hail him for the handle. Didn't need the Brasse's Brew, so I wasted 10.5p each buying them. (They sell back for 9p and change, probably better just to get drunk on cheap stuff before you hail him.) Had my hotkeys ready. When he started singing I had my cleric sing along. He smiled at me after each verse, and gave me the port stein after all 6 were done. Waited another few minutes for him to sing again and did the same for my mage.

Went to Feerott and swam to the bottom under the bridge. Both chars got the message "You are covered with aweful, (sic) rotten-smelling muck." The quest did not update. But we had the max-ogre faction buff. Went in to Oggok and found Leelouu. She's not in the room shown on the map. She's around the corner to the SSE of the point on the map. Hailed her and she called her bouncers. They are also zone-level (40-50s?) and an easy fight, except that they trade health if one takes more damage than the other. Lousy cleric DPS is fun. Sent in the mage pet and he one-shot them. After fighting Leelouu, she gave both chars the stein piece. (Although the mage never got the handle or the lid, he didn't need them.) After the fight, all the steps including the swim in the muck step were completed.

Ran to Butcherblock and gave Lessein the pieces. He replied "Here ya go. No need to repair the thing, I keep several of them around just for this sort of thing. She breaks them all the time." Note as this is a group quest, only one set had to be turned in and both chars got credit.

Returned to Brasse, tried to give her the stein, and she gave it back saying "Have a few and catch up..." again. Sigh. Another stack of drink to get the cleric good and toasted again. Now she takes the Stein and both chars get the rewards: 400pp and 8-9 AA's worth of xp at 105. Lockout timer is 6 hours from time of request.

This quests difficulty lies in the pre-farming. Not too bad if you are a high level foraging class... sux for everyone else. If your forage is capped at 50 -- the rest time to forage again is ridiculously long especially since you often find nothing or not what you are after.

Not only that, but the items you need are semi-rare, the spawns that drop them can be semi-rare, the spawn does not drop the item every time AND you high level players fighting over gray cons spawns in open zones.......

Yea. This is a one and done quest. It is WAY too much trouble to repeat.

What is needed is either increased spawn rates, 100% drop rates or perhaps a special NPC that shows up at Anniversary time.

The "Rare Imports" vendor will sell these component items for a premium (say 250 to 500 plat each) (Emerald Orange, Sylvan Berries, Skunk Glands....) and/or sell the quest items for a high premium (say 1K to 1.5K) (Emerald Orange Schnapps, Skunk Ale....).

for this step i gave him no alcohol at all. I was still drunk from the start of the quest, and i said win to him and got the update right away. So it might just be random

To obtain the bonus item you must sing along with the bard Galdorin in Abysmal Sea. About every 5 minutes, he begins strumming his lute and sings:
Player must repeat each verse in turn -- target Galdorin and /say what he says as he says it. You cannot just spam six lines of text at him. One verse at a time ~! Easiest to just make six hotkeys. You only have a window of a couple seconds for each verse.

Successfully repeating a line results in an emote from Galdorin:
Galdorin Visigothe smiles at you.

Once you have sung all six lines successfully:
Galdorin Visigothe says 'Well, it's nice to know someone appreciates my work!'
At this point, the Drunkard's Stein appears on your cursor.

If you mess up the timing, wait around for 5 minutes and he'll sing his song again.

It is possible to add a perpetual chain of people into the task so they can do their own singing and get the bonus. Add, sing, drop, next!

We were some of the players that helped write the task. We also completed it tonight and did not receive the bonus stein. There are parts of it that seem bugged. We didn't get the update for the bridge in Feerott until the turn in at the end..

ok, I didn't save hails and info
after Hanamaf Darkfoam tells you to talk to Tsann, he wants you to buy him alcohol he says..
but if you get drunk as a skunk and hail him and he says you need to talk with Dwantin Casilla,

Dwantin is spoiling for a fight.. put away weapons , must beat him hand to hand. when he gets to 20% or so, he yields, and gives up the stein lid, then tells you to go to the Queen of Thorns, which is the boat in Abysmal Sea..
on update task it says talk to Magus Tira (who is the BB Magus)

If you hail Tira not drunk, she wants alcohol too, but if you hail her while drunk, she says Alrightfine! and you get the next update. then it's off to abysmal sea to talk with Galadinus Corkpopper.

Galadinus tells you to talk with the bard.. (personally I have a deepseated hatred for Galdorian Visigoth so at this point I'm hoping I get to kick his butt.) but darn it all, still drunk on hail, he just gave up the handle.
Then you are sent to the Feerot to roll around in the muck under the bridge with a troll.
the next four steps all showed up on my quest at this point.

Brasse says 'I'm way ahead of you. Have a few and catch up, then we can talk.'
- Made myself drunk on a stack of Minotaur hero's brew I had lying around

You say, 'Hail, Brasse'
Brasse says 'I'm not nearly drunk enough to talk to you. Find me a drink that I like and maybe we'll chat.'

On handing in a drink she does not like:
Brasse says 'Really? I can't stand that stuff.'

On handing her a drink she does like, in my case, Ogre Swill, bought from Brewmaster Berina:
Brasse says 'Ah, now that hits the spot!'

After handing her a stack of Ogre Swill, responded to hail: -
You say, 'Hail, Brasse'
Brasse says 'Burp! Well, helloooo! If you ain't here to hand me a drink, then...burp! you must be here to help me find out what happened to my best [stein].'
You say, 'What happened to your best stein?'
Brasse says 'It's my bestest drinking tool. I'm not sure I can make it through the night without it. I must have left it somewhere last night. I remember starting in Pub Kal, but not much after that. You should [help me] find it. Then again, hick!, you may not be [worthy] of entering Pub Kal.'
You say, 'I am worthy, I can drink you under the table'
Brasse says 'Let's fix that. I have a few spare shirts and a lot of extra beard hair.'
<receive nothing>
You say, 'I will help you help me'
Brasse says 'Wonderful, I knew I could count on you.'

You say, 'I am worthy, I can drink you under the table'
Receive "Dwarf Disguise" - Lore, NoTrade, Quest
Brasse says 'This will make you look much better.'
Brasse says 'Let's fix that. I have a few spare shirts and a lot of extra beard hair.'

Right-clicking the disguise in PoK carries the yellow emote text:
"You should save this for when you are in Kaladim."

Edit:
The disguise clicks properly in Kaladim and disguises you as a dwarf. I could not buy drinks there so I gated to PoK to buy some stacks.
The illusion faded on zone, but with the task up, I can get a replacement disguise by saying "worthy" to Brasse again.
