Phinny Progression Server - Omens Just Launched

Crimson Potion DID NOT WORK

70 Rogue - Mostly Time Geared (Jagged Timeforge Blade + Jagged Blade of Ice +Tunat Aug), Dodge 3, roughly 10.5k life Buffed
70 Pally - Time / Tacvi / Muramite Armor Geared
68 Necro - Time Geared
68 BL - Time / Tacvi / Muramite Armor Geared
67 Shammy --- Alt - Roughly Elemental Planes equivalent gear - got to 50% because 3 of us were mezzed at that point.

Other than that, all geared players were above 90% and was a super easy fight, nothing risky

Maybe a 1minute fight?
Wasn't long at all, most of the time spent was 2+ mezzed. I would still bring 4chars who can take a hit as you will probably have times where 2 are locked down and you will be beat upon.

Fighting Galdorin, pvp style
# Dec 05 2007 at 5:12 AM Rating: Decent
Coming from a pvp server, this mob's ability of mezzing players was an easy shoot down. For a few plat each in PoK in the building near the PoT stone, the poison vendor will sell crimson potions. These give reckless health, which is a 50hp heal followed by 3 minutes of taking 2hp damage per tick. That damage will wake you up from mez once every 6 seconds. Spend a few plat and give a couple to everyone in the party.. I promise you that the 2hp damage wont break your healer on mana!
So Much Fun

Did this fight today with 75 SK - 75 Druid - 63 Rogue . .Kinda....

Seems the spells are not limited to 70 . .but 75 since they all landed on me with infusion.

Also after the rogue died i started attacking random unsuspecting people in the zone who i didnt know, so inadvertantly i picked up a 75 monk and shaman. The mob ended up dieing, but you may want to warn the zone before you attempt this mob solo or duo.

This is really not a raid encounter.

he's in the bar to your right when you exit the room with the magus. Calidnus Corkpopper is in the same room
Silence Proc is AE
# Jul 23 2006 at 8:36 PM Rating: Decent
Just did him fairly easily with 2 groups. Only unexpected thing as the Silence / 1500dd was going off as an AE, not single target. It was hitting multiple people in both groups at one time.

Perhaps a bug. Not a big difference. Potions and LoH saved some lives.
Did him today with 5 people
# Jun 03 2006 at 12:44 AM Rating: Decent
Did him today with me, (70 rogue-elemental/dodh mission geared) 70 sk (tacvi geared) 70 necro (tacvi geared) 70 bst (time geared) and 70 cleric (10k mana pool). One person boxed sk and bst, another boxed necro and cleric, and i played rogue. We just had the bst tank when the sk got charmed/mezzed and pretty much just bounced aggro around. Killed him pretty easily in about 3 or 4 minutes. No problems, he is easily one-groupable if you have a decent group.

The Big Party
# Jul 31 2005 at 10:07 AM Rating: Decent
We took the Bard with two groups and a lvl 70 tank. It was an exciting party as someone above promised. The soul binder is in the room above the bar. Use him, you will need it. I took a dive 8 times and the fight lasted a good 10 minutes or so. Suggest using the resist veterans reward...but that only helps briefly. Well I'm headed out to check on the Marsingers. Good Luck to you.

Galdorin fight
# Jan 20 2005 at 10:18 AM Rating: Decent
Took him down recently for my Rogue 1.5.

I handed in, and he mezzed me. Then a few seconds later he charmed the MA. Thankfully, when charmed, PC's do very little damage. The warrior MA and the Paladin SA spent the rest of the fight either charmed or mezzed.

Reccomendations, have 3 tanks, all able to pull aggro on the spot. No casters can sit during this, or you get flattened. It's a hectic, crazy fight. Healers keep your groups up. Chase him down, hopefully one of your three tanks is holding him in one spot, and beat him to death.

Fun fight, was a total change of pace from normal xp grinds and boss fights :)

Thanks for a good time SoE!

First Attempt had 7 people - 1 Necro, 1Bst, 1Warrior, 1Cleric, 1Rogue, 1Paladin 1shammy and some other poor sapp. It was short and sweet he wore aur ***** out. This bish mezzes which crimson potions/breath of tunare do not help with they are as best as I could tell unresistable. He charms causing any pets to attack group members and members to attack each other and he summons if you tick him off just right. On the first attempt after about 3minutes of beating us senseless he mezzed the entire group off one by one and cleared aggro which repopped him in the center of the room at 100%!!!

Second attempt we called in the cavalry. We had 15 in all. There was no particular class that i felt had an advantage over him but i recommend at least two high dps groups preferably rogues or rangers reason being that casters have low hp's and tend to pull aggro with there nukes etc, they went down pretty fast. Sk's would also be a good choice. You want to burn this bard down ASAP because the minute he clears aggro you are back to square one. The fact that he charms, mezzes and summons lenghthens the fight considerably. I did not notice any exceptional health regen for him. I recommend no pets and suggest having someone in range of the groups to be upstairs and periodically come smack everyone who is mezzed and run out. I also recommend a bash as opposed to the paladin stun the stun seemed to just **** him off whereas the bash seemed to actually interupt his mez/charm attempts.
As his targets are mezzed off he summons the next person on his list smacks them around a bit and then mezzes them. Also keep him surrounded and keep him in one place if at all possible cause he tends to run around a bit.

None of us were elemental/time geared just decent oow stuff. A good 2 groups who knows thier classes avg lvl 68ish should be able to lay him out without much trouble.
Loot Level

After he is killed does anyone know if the Rogue must be level 65+ to loot the agreement? I read somewhere that some items cannot be looted in 2.0 quest until you are of that level.

In addition to the Canticle of Captivation and Galdorin's Alluring Lullaby as Ventanni mentioned, he also uses Deafening Tritone.

We did him with 13 this evening. Only people ele+ geared were one of the tanks and a ranger. He summons and his DPS is fairly low, as stated by others. Does not ramp, does not flurry. Highest hit on me (70 cleric, no defensive AAs) was 776. Highest hit on our MT (70 war with 2250 AC and nearly all defensive AAs) was 506 but was not using defensive disc for fight.

Rotated a few tanks to keep his attention while the others got charmed. Good idea to have healers for the casters/healers when he sends his charmed folks after them.

He casts a spell called Abysmal Replenishment. It is an AoE PC targeted spell similar to Chorus of Marr. The spell icon looks like the Guard line of spell icons. This guy is a bard and holds a lute. He is wood elf however is smaller than normal wood elfs. He also sings in riddles alot aswell.

*Edit* - I noticed after a recent patch that the song he plays no longer lands on Player characters.

There were complaints about the effect because it was overwriting KEI. Think they fixed it.

His song hasn't taken off my KEI that I've noticed, but when I was a younger chanter (several months ago) practicing tradeskills in Abysmal his song used to take off my Clarity all the time, and annoy the living @#$% out of me. It also forces you to dance. Just one more reason why he should die. :oP
