Powerful, but dead nonetheless.

I have been spending time exploring an ancient tomb of one of my ancestors. I had heard rumors of a dagger that had once belonged to one of my ancestors that had been broken and the pieces scattered. I had also heard that the tomb had been overrun with a group of Sarnaks who call themselves the Kly.

I found two pieces of the dagger, and a hammer that looks to be suitable to forge the pieces back together with when I saw a larger Kly who seemed to be giving orders to his minions. I questioned one of the lesser Kly who informed me (through the shrieks brought on by my questioning) that this was the Kly Overseer. I decided to rid this tomb of the wicked Overseer. I began by destroying all of his minions that were lurking nearby. I knew that if I didn't I would quickly be overrun. With his lackeys destroyed I stepped into the Overseer's room. I longed to taste his flesh. With a smile I ordered my skeltal minion to destroy this abomination to my people. I saw the Overseer begin casting a spell and braced myself for its effects. Imagine my surprise and, yes, horror when my skeletal pet stopped in his tracks, and turned back toward me. The Overseer was grinning now and ordering my own pet to destroy me. I quickly began creating an escape portal and escaped with my life very near its end. I vowed revenge.

After stealing some health from a brutish apelike creature, I again ventured down to face the Overseer. As I entered his room, he again smiled, but this time I did not summon a companion, but faced him alone. I immediately cast a spell that caused the vines growing in the cavern to entwine his feet. Immobilized he began to panic and cast spells at me in return. As he cast, I felt his magical energies wash over me. I quickly tied a bond that drew his health into me. It was enough to counteract all the damage his magic was doing. I also called upon the forces of darkness to slow his movements. Finally I cast a spell that caused his blood to furiously boil within his body. I sat and watched with glee as he screamed and screamed and finally died. Several other Overseers have taken his place, and I have used this tactic to destroy them all.

Soon, I know that this tomb will again belong to my people.

By my hand..

Are you sure that he does not proc ice shred anymore? I hunt with a group of friends in the LOW 30's. and we could take this brute if all he does is allure pet. If anyone else can confirm his proc, that would be nice.

He procs Allure now, AND a direct damage. Sorry, don't recall what it was called or the damage, but it was considerably less damage than the 700 stated here. I'm thinking it was a magic based dd+stun, but dont remember for sure.

Yes he does not proc anymore but he’s not that easy. We had a 40 monk 42 cleric and me 40 warrior are first try at him we got an *** kicking. Second try we got him on his own we had all are CR, FR, MR, AC and HP buffs up, cleric was FM and revenge was ours. The worst thing about him is he can charm (I’m not sure if that’s new or not) and has a 10 second stun but they are easily resisted with 90+ MR.
not too bad
# Sep 25 2001 at 11:51 AM Rating: Default
we took him a number of times with a 54 dru and 53 war. his nukes never went over 200 on me but he casts a stun that is unbeliveable. once hit u cant move for id say 10-15 seconds, witch is a long time in a fight against him. if the healer is stunned then u have problems.
Necro pet going on strike?

I was in this dungeon earlier tonight, trying to get the pieces for the Viscereal Dagger. One of the Kly I had killed dropped some Crescent Fighting Gloves (was a random kly in the 3-statues room on the third floor, not the Overseer), so I invited a level 39 monk to drop down and get them. Naturally, his invis potion crapped out on him at the false wall where the sarcophogus is pulled out near the church, so I went through to help him get to the exit behind the Kly's room. Cleared out all the kly up to the large dining room, and pulled the Kly Overseer. I was fighting him in the dining room there, with my pet whacking away at him, while I was trying to support it. About 10 seconds into the fight, I tried to give my pet a command (/pet report health, I believe), and I received the message saying that I didn't have a pet! However, the pet was still standing there whacking away on the Overseer. I probably could have dispatched him, but he decided to come over and beat on me personally, and the stupid rogue pet just stood there. Thank Cazic for Bond of Death! It took me a little longer to realize that my pet was a lost cause, and that without him I didn't stand much of a chance against the Overseer, so I feigned, and the Overseer ran back over to attack the pet. Apparently the Overseer thought he was in trouble, because he gated (a VERY fast gate, I swear it only took him 1 second to cast!), and some other Kly wandered into the room and started attacking the pet. Since the pet was one of the tougher summons, and had some pretty nice haste from the pet buff, he sent that Kly packing, and chased him back towards the water. Somewhere during all this, the monk stood up from his feign and high-tailed it to the exit. Fortunately, that dining room was still empty, so I had the chance to stand up and memorize Gather Shadows and Gate. I stood invisible until I was finally able to Gate the hell out of there!

After I got back to my bind point near Cabilis, I scrolled back to see if I could figure out why my pet went rogue. I didn't see any strange messages, and didn't remember the Overseer casting any weird spells, either. I still have no idea why that pet went on strike in the middle of a fight with one of the toughest monsters in this dungeon.

A 45 Bard, 50 Ranger and 46 Cleric killed the Overseer last night nearly 15 times in a row like it was nothing. Those is not B.S. post. I was observing this. They killed him every single time he spawned like it was nothing. Resisted his stone spider spell over and over. Ranger was tanking and prolly lost as most as 2 bubs of health in the worst situations.

He is a crap PH for the mob "The Kly". He drops nothing. This site says he drops the crescent gloves but to be honest, random Kly's will drop different pieces of armor. I wouldn't camp him. He is a waste of time. You need to kill him only to get past him to the exit, but other than that he is a big waste of time. Dropped 8 FS daggers and some crap change.

The zone he is in Dalnir is a crap loot zone too. Lots of the drops are rare drops and you have to kill bunches of mobs to get anything. Its really only good for the Necro piercer quest there and a few other things. Don't waste your time with his zone or with him. Unless you really need to. Good luck!

Crap Loot? Hmm, aparently you haven't noticed all the monks running around with fighting batons? Or do they grow on trees on your server? There is a lot of descent loot here, and the experience is great.

yeah that's what he said...crap loot...fighting baton...fighting baton is crap loot..unless like he said you wanna camp the spawns for weeks just to get a decent ultrarare item...crescent is good stuff for 30ish lvl monks...waste of time
Be Prepared!
# Jul 16 2001 at 2:13 AM Rating: Default
If you're not prepared for this guy, he will kill you easily. You must have: Resist Magic, Resist Cold, Resist Fire, cleric hp buffs. My group tonight, a 47 monk, 53 druid, 52 necro, 51 chanter, 50 cleric, took him out the first time, as we were prepared. The 2nd time, however, we weren't so lucky. We had no hp or resistant buffs and we bit it fast!

Moral: be ready or prepare for death.

ice comet message is " XXXXX Was Rent my Massive Shards of Deadly ice"

so the spell he casts must be some slightly lower level wizard ice dd.

Went in yesterday with 39 Pally, 36 wiz, 40 Cleric, 40 Shaman, and 45 Druid (me) and we were slaughtered in no time flat. He conned BLUE to the 36 wiz! He hits very hard and is not to be tacken lightly. The cleric had 1200+ hp and it took 3 hits to kill him, not fun. Be warned, we are not an unexperienced group and were genuinely taken by surprise)
also get gloves

We took a group composed of 36 Rog, 30 Nec, 35 SK, 30 Enc, 32 Dru, and 35 Cle, and fought our way down to pay a visit to this guy. The first 3 times we killed him it was a bit of Russian Roullet(sp?) with that nasty DD outpacing our cleric a couple of times. However once we got it down, and our stuns started sticking (BTW not sure where they gets their information, but his spells were easily interuptable, and our tank took only average about 300 damage total per fight as long as stuns stuck. Not sure where this uninteruptable proc idea came from). Anyway was very enjoyable fight with only the OS and 4 or so others in his room it was quite easy to hold and pull from the rest of the floor. Our pet monk, who joined the fight late in the night replaceing the Nec, made it our with new crescent boots and gloves. Those combined with part of some quest for the Nec, a Sarnek Emblazend Tabard, a 2 Handed Practice Sword, and a plethora of FS made for a very enjoyable evening.
Ugly one

Yesterday i was with some friends of my Guild in Dalnir to get some monk armor for our monk. We fighted our way through all levels till we wiped out the dining room. We also cleaned the overseer room. Then there was only the Overseer. A Guildmate told us that the Overseer can cast a 1200dmg spell (maybe ice comet). So we decided not to melee him. We (51mage, 39wiz, 40shaman, 37shaman) placed us at the entrance to the overseer room at and my command we all started to nuke. After my first nuke i sent in my pet and before i could finish my 2nd nuke the Overseer was dead.
So if you want to kill him just make sure you have 2 or three good casters and blow him away. Dont try to melee him.

Worst miscon since DVinn
# Nov 01 2000 at 1:04 PM Rating: Default

This guy is a horrible miscon. He cons blue to me in the 40s and will absolutely tear me up even in a group of 3-5 with a cleric.

Should be about level 45 since he casts a huge damage DD.
