Ok, Back when I was a level 13 Ranger, I decided I needed money, like everyone else in the game. First crush was to hard, then the Throne Room made me die every 5 seconds. I just was sitting on a hill, when a sign said Orc Trainer hits you for 12 points of damage. First I conned it, a high white. I hit it about 50 times and it died, I looted the corpse and I saw Shiny Brass Shield... I decided, since there was only about 10 people in the zone, to pull mules from different account over, and hand them the shield. I got 6 shields out of 10 drops, which filters into 3/5. I know I'm going to get 20 posts saying "quit lieing, how old are you, 12?"
Actually I am 12, and us kids these days are stupids, quit saying were stupid, because we are actually smarter than you 20+ people who are losing brain cells...thanks.

Camped him for five hours before shield dropped, worth it? I think so, Wife mad at me for staying out all night in crush with the guys and takes it off me for herself lol, so in i go again no one camped there, slap him about and bingo there it is, first time. As for lvl 16's nearly dying, did ya go naked and attack with a feather? i'm lvl 16 and he hardly scratched me, not sayin it isn't true just damn strange

Concur! I waxed him good 3-4 times last night with my Level 15 Ranger. He never took more than 1/4 of my hitpoints. Only dropped the shield once though. Adita on Bristlebane

every once in a while i head up to trainer hill and try y luck for the shield. Well lately ive been at L16 and hes been green to me and almost killing me. before he would ot even get me down to half health and that was when i was even to him! just be careful he hits a hell of a laot harder now

I agree he hits now for about 20-27 dmg depending on lv He used to hit for about 12(like a cent)

I sat on trainer hill for 5 hours killing him over
and over, it wasnt untill my lvl 20 buddy who was
there to keep me company killed him due to my poor health and got the shield (which he kindly let me have - thankyou)May only be a coincidence but prehaps he is more likely to drop if you are of a high enough level not to get the exp.Corker

I think so to because I am a druid lv 12 and one time he conned red(I was so scared I didn't even pull him)I think he ranges from 10-16 or around tthat area

The Hill is camped all day 24 hours all the time and they get pissed if you hunt on the hill. I even see lvl 20+ camp for the sheild
As a 19 cleric, I camped this guy for about an hour and a half. I think I killed him about 13 times, and he only dropped the shield once. The reason for this is that this a very nice shield to be dropped off a level 12 or 13 monster. The drop rate of the shield is now 1/20. If you want the shield just buy one. It really pissed me off.

I agree, if u want the shield try to buy it if u got the money. I make the long trip from Highpass Hold to Crushbone and camped him for an hour, killed him 6 times that night in turns with a pally who was looking for the famous shield either, and no shield for none of us. I return next day and camped him for an hour, 5 times killed, no shield either. Finally, on the third day, after an awful discussion with some newbies camping the place, 45 mins and 3 kills this damn mob drop the shield. Including the trip i spend 4 hour and a half, and could be more if the first night i dont find a nice pally that allows me to share with him the camp (he was already there when i appear) and if the newbies of the discussion on the third night didnt wanted to exchange their camp for SOW and BUFF.
I killed him twice and got the shield. Although, I was in a group, and the paladin won the roll, so he got it. I guess we were lucky.

The shield must be a completely random drop. I've talked to people that have killed the trainer 5 times and gotten the shield 5 times(they sold it the moment they got it) It doesn't happen very often because, like I said, the shield is completely random.

Camped this guy for 2 hours today(much to the despair of about 300 parties heading up the hill) and this guy dropped it twice.Strangely satisfying.

im 14 right now the trainer is easy and i hate campng hm because he doesnt evr drop the shield almost have fun people prepare to wait
Three lvl 9 players. Warrior, Druid and Enchanter and we held the hill for an hour and he dropped the shield twice. Some players are so selfish though and do not know the meaning of the word share. If you are ever camping a controllable area like this then why run everyone else off. The more people there the more controllable the area is and take turns when the trainer comes up. I mean there is only one mob that drops that shield and the XP there at lvl 9 was awesome. We all lvled to 10 in that hour.

my level 8 rogue got currious about the hill and wondered up to see this guy and die. then on the recovery trip (stealth) i pickpocketed got a shield and hid again then left it was easy.

It was early so the nobody was there and the trainer was waiting...Needless to say I killed him and there it was. I shouted for sum1 to come and get a Free SBS as they r lore items and i could not pick it up. So i wasnt the only one to get lucky today. =)

what? slavers do not have a chance to drop this shield at all. Its the trainer who drops it, period. nobody in the entire game drops it but him.

the trainer has a 1/6 drop rate on the sheild, that means if he dont dropit for 7 hours, then he gonna drop it like, 3 or 4 times in a row...
trust me, i camped him for 24 housr, and the exp was good, i was 15, and i got 4 bubbles from him, and the occasional warlord that spawned by the castle corner of the hill.
