I don't get it

How come a lvl 50 mob can destroy a lvl 63 necro? I mean named mobs that are lvl 50 or 55 or 58 or whatever, easily need an uber group or 2 to defeat! Makes no sense. EQ should make them lvl 90 or 100 if that's how powerful they are!!! But, when you go and list a mob in your game at lvl 50-58 or whatever, then a solo character that is 3 to 5 or more lvls ahead of said mob should be able to easily wipe up! WTF???????

I have to agree with you about the whole level thing if you are about 3 levels higher than a mob is "supposed" to be then soloing that mob should not be a problem. Social game or not they need to have the levels reflect what the mobs power really is.

Because EQ is a SOCIAL game and not ment to be soloed. Also it means he would be camped by every lvl 65 Beastlord Necro and mage for everything he drops. We fought him the other night with 9 people. first thing he did was cast Feeble mind on us, no one could cast a spell. It was then just a matter of him preparing the stew for us. Just to quite him..
wiped

we tried it with a 61 chanter and 2 groups of high 50's and got wiped quickly. good strategy though is for chanter to make a pet out of the woodelf dude at the top of the mines. he hits quad 200's and fast. this helps to clear out the 20 or so dudes in front of the room so you have a good space of time before repops
pain the the arse.

Radiant Cure AA planar ability will remove the feeblemind curse. It apparently lasts like 2 hours from what a friend said. The shammy used her AA points afterward to get radiant cure and it wiped the feeblemind easily.
61 shammy and cleric, 60 warrior, 57 ranger, 59 and 63 wizz.
Me and a few folks tried taking him down. no Enchanter in the group but all of us were able to pull the mobs single once I lulled the groups of three's with wake of tranquility. Some of the mobs seemed to HT for around 400 -700 points at a crack but not too bad as long as you were prepared for it.
The mobs single pulling were easy and once you clear all of them the taskmaster becomes targettable and attacks. he dropped easy, once he drops the overlord aggros. He conned even to the 57 ranger and he has a huge knockback ("a lavabolt flings you across the room and does 300points of damage to you"), he also enrages and rampages as well. feeblemind was a pain and because of it I couldnt get the heals off in time. take a good sized force with you. The room respawn rate isnt too fast, I would say around 10 minutes or so but I Did not time it. we ended up evaccing and we rezzed the MT who was our only casualty.

#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 18 2003 at 6:34 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) sure not hard at all, he only took 2 lvl 65 and 4 friends too kill easy peasy.

We fought him, and he despawned through wall. It's a rough fight for a single group. He casts feeblemind, which makes casting heals very difficult for those that have mana after his lacky dijunctions you.
umm..

When i explored this place and found him I couldnt target him. How do you know his level?

This guy will take a raid force, first of all you can't target him til you kill the 20 or so mobs in the room first. Then you kill the taskmassterr which we did with two groups that just happened to meet at his room and decide to turn into a small raid party. Once you kill the taskmaster he comes out and attacks. First thing he did was cast feeblemind which is a combo dot and also makes you fizzle just about every spell you try to cast. Then he starts casting another aoe knockback and fire. Actually twelve people can handle this guy if they are prepared and set the casters up in the right position, we had no idea what to expect. Feeblemind seems to last forever, I managed to evac 3 in my group and after cr's and rezzes we split up and 2 hours later I had a friend kill me in arena to get rid of the damn curse :p Our avg. lvls were 60 and our puller the whole time for this room was our nutty 56 chanter who had no problem doing mezzes. Most mobs you pull do a HT then are basically the normal variety for the zone, Taskmaster dropped nothing and as You know we didn't kill the big guy but he drops a Flowing Thought One ring.
