Boxed with 6 65's: DRU ENC WIZ MAG CLE SK

Spin-stun is annoying, for sure, the tank loses aggro. So whoever is 2nd on hate list has to be able to survive until tank recovers. Sitting and standing quick stops the spin but not the stun.

He's a cleric, supposedly, but we didn't see any CH attempts.

He appears to have about 326k HPs, which would put him below the 400k+ of the other tower bosses.

Damage by group members:

Wiz 94k
Mag 86k
Dru 67k
SK 62k
Enc 17k (was out of range for part of fight, until I noticed.)

Did not attempt to charm a giant, as this boss dispells.

Cleared the 4 potential adds on the boss's platform to avoid risk. They can all be pulled singly.

He can be killed by a level 76 cleric but it takes time to down him : ward of reprisal + Vow of Victory + Mark of the Blameless + And Yaulp
During the fight, always have a Promised Renewal on you, in order to be healed when he stuns you.
Had the ring, the Greatstaff, and the parchment.

A few months back I was in a group that completely pet tanked this guy and made me wander if he was soloable by 76+ Mages. During the attempted solo my parser decided not to read everything correctley, but I had to gate when he was at 13% anyway (12k+ mana mages it would be an easy fight, my Gift of Mana AA line never went off during this battle and I almost did it with only 9k mana). So I went back with a cleric and we both parsed it to confirm everything.

Max pet defensives for my level at 76, the pet was never in any danger of death with the cleric and myself never dropping below 80% mana. In fact, the cleric had 94% mana after the last heal of the battle (using nothing but complete heals). So, as far as raid encounter, not anymore, but it was a fun fight.

He parsed in at 222,568 HP for the 10:31 fight which means (assuming 200k hp) he regens 215 hp every 6 seconds. Seems rather high, but he is a raid encounter, so I went with it. His minimum hit was 187 (bash), max hit was 797, and he averaged out at 321. His DPS was just over 174. I was unable to land my malosinatia, but towards the end of the battle had no issues nuking, and he only resisted one of my clicky nukes so Im going to say his resists are moderate to high. He rarely landed any of his spells on me, with only 317 magic resist, so not much of an issue.

Quick rundown

Min Hit - 187
Max Hit - 797
Avg hit - 321
DPS - 174
HP - 200,000

High AC mob with moderate to high resists. His spells will be resisted most the time with 300+ magic resist.

Yeah, I think a well geared and AA'd 76 mage could kill him pretty easily. I'm 81 now 1400 AA, 17k HP, 19k Mana unbuffed and I pretty much stomped a mudhole in this guy. Didn't have to use any special abilities or anything. I could go full burn and kill him fast before going OOM or let the pet do most of the damage and end the fight with like 60% mana.

The hardest tower boss to solo at 81 has been Kuanbyr Hailstorm because he has the 3 named bugs guarding him. But even he was not that bad at 81. At 76 it would be a tough fight though. You would probably need to Companion of Necessity to split off 1-2 of the bug guards to kill them before taking on all 4 at once.

Cheers,

As lvl 75 Archon Battle Cleric since the begining myself I would advise any reading that post to consider this. Auffie summons , stuns, can't root him, potions are nothing if you have high stats waste of time poping one, Clerics are not malee and cant do the damage , slow, snare , so in essence even with our new awesome pop spell and others we have I don't put to much faith in the post given we also have taken Auffie many times and I have 75 bard hyrda and have seen many malee solo tank him yet had healer in grp and was long fights for them . Auffie is malee damage high ac and magic resist. One of my RL motto's "Seeing Is Beleiving" .

I've seen Clerics solo this and many other mobs, and duo Seru with a 75 mage. If you know what you're doing, soloing raid mobs is cake.

Thanks for the added info. The orginal posting I responded to was result of question's sent to me being cleric about this post origianlly. When doing a background check on one that posted he list as lvl 70 not 75 as some said. Some clerics went down and I would say not bad at playing the class and wanted to know why, lesson leaned for some, check if possible before hand not after lol. Also as most they don't bother to list their stats as part of the posting of what they have so other's who read them can make a better assessment of their standing before undertaking a task. Their are many who post falsely or incorrectly for ego sake nothing more. I (4) box alot using a varity of char's which includes 75 bst which is also guild MT , 74 bst, 75 mage, 75 bard, 75 cleric, 73 chanter 65 necro to name some. Bst are in top 100 listings of our class on the server , bard is still in progress in need of aas and running just 200 hp below top 100 on our server. Mage and cleric are also well geared better than avg. family guild players. And in response to many raid mobs are now soloable by clerics at 75 yes depending on exp and stats. But fact still remains Cleris are healing ,caster class not malee , so all malee rest assured we can't take your place, or at least not at the moment lol. For those with lvl, less stats , we have in the past and seen others and we have taken down mob's simply based on awesome team work and player's. HUGS to all EQ'ers see you in game:)

Solo'd this guy after hitting 75 as a Cleric. Been wanting to try this guy for a month or so, but decided to wait for new spells and I gotta say I prolly couldn't have done it without Vow of Valor and Promised Renewal. Vindi is next on my list, can't wait to own him just like I own'd this guy.

did this with my guild awhile back...it was getting later into the night and most had signed off but we still had like 20 willing to go - 2 clerics and 2 droods (MORE than enough healing power). but, as we got closer and closer to him, clerics left or went LD, and the other druid went LD. so here we are, right before engage with only one druid for heals and only 13 people total. by NO means were we an uber guild - we had three tanks, fully buffed all fit into the 8-8.5k range. we had one chanter and two necros, which was a big plus. i handed the chanter a load of peridots so he could chaincast ruin on whatever tank was up. i had the necros dumping the chanter/druid if they needed it. i told the first tank to go into defensive and rush while the druid healed and chanter ruined. after def. wore off second war would come and take aggro from other war (previous died if needed be) and we took off from there. we went through 3 def tanks and still another bit after that. so fight was pretty long ~11 min i think i remember. we only lost 1 or 2 tanks that couldn't lose aggro fast enough. guild practically crapped their pants when we beat him with just druid healing and me and another paladin for patches. was loads of fun and quite the rush, to tell the truth.

Got one of these last week. I usually just wear it when I'm tanking, cause it has 100 hp and 15 sta, which is nice. Very nice for Sro, EF, and BB adventures, or anywhere else when youre against undead. I usually proc like mad with this thing. Especially if youre using Ward of Nife, and have Slay undead, and are using Deny undead. You become an undead machine. Anyway, this thing is pretty quick, nice if you have SoV on.

To kill this mob all you need is a ranger, war and cleric.

The ranger harmonises all the way up to the top platform, taking at least the cleric with him. If needs be, the war and any others you wish to bring can train up to the top and have the cleric rez them.

Once taking Auliffe on, have the war tank him without pushing him to any adds, and keep the cleric and ranger at the point they ported to the platform and therefore out of agro range.

The cleric runs in to heal, and back out to reduce damage on him from spells.

The ranger just keeps hitting archery.

Yesterday me (65 ranger), 65 war, and 65 cleric killed him in about 20-25 minutes (so bring a book!). I was only self buffed and had no haste so today's attempt should be faster.

LOL!! The AE spell he does is funny to watch.....We took him down with 21 peeps, raid average of 64, it was easy. He dropped two Ornate Leather Tunic Patterns, a Glyphed Rune Word, and an Unadorned Symbol of Torden. Nothing uber.

Auliffe is located in a central circle surrounded at the edges by other mobs. Single pull them to clear them out to prevent adds during the fight. They have a fairly long respawn time, so once cleared, they won't pose a problem.

Auliffe himself is a straight forward fight if you remember a few simple things. If you get hit by his spin stun, sit down and stand up to remove the spin effect. Keep him in the center of the room, and you never have to worry about anyone being launched off the edge. Using DMF or Levitate on the groups before engaging Auliffe is a good idea as well, just as a precaution.

There's no reason why two solid groups shouldn't be able to take this guy down given enough time and if they are paying attention to what they are doing. A raid force of three groups or more should have no problems at all.
Mage Charm Assist
# Feb 12 2004 at 6:23 PM Rating: Decent
This guy is cake, done him many times with just 2 groups. Have 2 mages with Call of the Arch Mage charm 2 elementals and then 2 healers in each group, and 2 MTs and whatever else you wanna throw in the mix and watch this guy fall down like a chump with the MT absorbing the hits and getting healed and 2 big-*** charmed pets just pounding on he mob. He falls in like 3-4 minutes tops. The area that the fight takes place in is so big that if the charm breaks, there is PLENTY of room to re-snare and re-charm the mob. Make sure to haste your charmed pet with BO5 just after the MT calls for assist or you'll be a chopped up mage and your whole group will be stew!!

#zweiusn, Posted: Jan 12 2004 at 11:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well, my guild and a few others pretty much took this guy down the other night. We did it with 10 people total. Our tank had 11k hp and we had two clerics and a druid. fight lasted about 4-5mins. Reason i say almost got him, is because at 15% our tank went LD, along with me, due to server issues, and we wiped 3%. Yeah, pretty gay. I think someone was watching at SOE and was like, " OMG! they are gonna kill him 10 people!." and then Yoink! they pulled the plug. Atleast you know you can do it now.

done this guy lots of times with 2 pickup groups. Pretty much, if you got a bard, you win. I think the AE lands once or twice the entire fight as long as the magic resists are over 400. Just like Icestorm, this fight is all about resists. The easiest tower boss

I'm gonna have to disagree on that easiest tower boss statement. Auliffe's procs aren't just frontal and if you get enough of your peeps launched off the platform because of failed resist checks, it's curtains for your raid. Auliffe makes Eindride look like a piker by comparison IMO.
