I snagged one of these today. Confirmed that the drachnid was wielding the weapon instead of the usual slasher most have equipped. I grabbed the 68.1 instance and just kept killing respawn until I spotted the boomstick. Guesstimate it took maybe 17-20 clears of all the spiders.
Actually got two of these today when I did 68.1 from the 25 drachnids I had to kill. Both from 1st gate area mobs. To answer the question below, the 2nd one I got came from a respawned drachnid.
just wonderin... coz i kinda like the exp given by these spiders... not too tough for my group.... considering its all necro hehehe.... is it possible for these to show up on respawned mobs?
I have a 64 warrior. Got her grouped with a 74 and a 73 so that average is a bit over 70. I tried to get mission with the warrior but Kelliad did not give it.
Is there a minimum level to get the missions? Or is it faction (Kelliad was dub)? Or do I need a full group?
Yes, there's a minimum level for this mission; I *believe* it's 65, but might be 68 (considering end reward is a Lvl 68 spell/discipline).
Also, the problem may have been the others grouped with you. I've Shrouded down in a few mission arcs in order to make it easier to 3-box them (I don't have a tank Class; just a 67 DRU, 75 CLR, and 75 ENC; so you can imagine the trouble I have taking hits, since I have to use my ENC <who is the only toon with max defensive AAs> as the main tank). Next time, try Shrouding the other two to within 5 levels of your lowest character; then, get the mission, un-Shroud, and enter it.
This thing is dangerous lolol. It whispers to my druid and makes him do things. It makes him think he can tank. http://eq.magelo.com/profile/1259984
My peoples and I affectionately call it "the ugly stick". I highly highly recommend this weapon for all who can use it. Yes, it can drop in 68.1 and .3, only from drachnids in a City of Xill instance.
The numbers- 71 druid with imp. dmg 5 plus aa fury line up to Destructive Fury 3, as well as a 40% haste aug. He's also got both Healing Adept and Gift lines up to Mastery3 respectively, and an imp. healing 5 aug, which is important as he has a Deepsky Stone in the staff's aug slot. Dex is capped at 345. Str is at 330, but almost always has a Dire or Wunshi on, making it 420 or so. Usually when he's fighting he's got some form of casted haste or another on him, so he's swinging like a madman.
With no procs going off, he averages about 60pts a hit. The procs do go off though, and often. The weapon proc by itself (Rend) hits for the full 855pts, on trash and named alike, with a very occasional partial resist delivering about 2/3rds of that. It CAN be resisted completely, but very very rarely in my druid's experience. When Fury kicks in, it crits for a max of 1962pts. Not bad for a mana-free blast. =)
The lifetap aug (Deepsky Stone) by itself delivers a 125pt base lifetap, but with my druid's healing boosts gets that up to 180pts. On top of that, the lifetap proc is eligible for BOTH the Fury damage/crit boost as well as the healing/exceptional boosts. The highest I've seen it proc for is 800pts or so, and that all comes back as health. That double proc/crit/exceptional is rare though and I usually get about 320pts. Still very very nice.
Took 8 hours, but got it... maybe thats unusually high. War, cle, someone afk in guildhall in grp. Got mission, zoned in, looked around invis for spider with it equiped. Some see invis. Took couple minutes per mission. Rince repeat. Eazy zoneout if you get agro. Must have done it about 100 times before spider at city entrance had it. Zoned cleric in, pacify, pulled it, beat it down. Nice graphic.
Yes, it is possible to repeatedly get this mission in search of this awesome weapon. I 3 boxed the mission, leaving 2 characters in guild hall fully buffed in standby while i searched the zones with a lvl 75 wizard using eye of tallon. You can either get the 68.1 or 68.3 mission from Kelliad. Using the wizard, I ran to Meldrik, Hailed, then said " I am ready" (made hot keys) to zone in. Once in, lev'd and phase walked to the left wall in front area. Cast eye of tallon, and sent it forth, scouting. You can search mobs in front of the gate or behind it, but the one I found was on the pair of spiders (68.1 mission) near the hive entrance. Took me over 150 missions, but was well worth it. My warrior has around 690 aa, needless to say this stick proc's big-time for me for 855, and when it crit blasts', lands 1710 damage (sweet!), added enraging blow aug to it. This stick is ultra rare in my opinion. For people not in big raiding guilds getting the uber sweet weapons, this one is achievable with a group of friends if you just want to xp grind. Good luck to those seeking to get one.
The stats on this are still the same except for HP 145, Mana 145, Endurnace 145, SVfire+5, SVDis+12, SVCold+8, SVMagic+8, SVPoi+12with a recommended lvl of 68
I have been using it for quite a while and while it may not proc a lot during ordinary groups it does proc a lot during extended fights on Boss style mobs :)
Actually, click on the lucy link, it already had it's hp/mana upgraded at the cost of the killer saves it had... oh well, an acceptable change in my book, but that was done well before this patch, so maybe they modified it further, but doubtful.
Unless I am mistaken, you will see the mob holding the weapon. The one time it dropped for us it was showing. That was the whole reason I pulled that mob to be killed hehe.
Was doin the A rogues trust mission tonight With the A team & this baby droped off a spider outside the wall.. Proc went off the first time I hit a mob with it. Sweet S/V on it also it looks like a bat with spikes on it
"a bat with spikes on it", by this do you mean the wooden club with spikes? or do you mean the ultra cool brawl stick remniscent of velious days? I know what I hope it is. /grin

EDIT: nm, just looked at lucy entry, and I am fairly certain that it is my beloved velium brawl stick graphic for which I had always hoped they would make a one hander... /CHEERS
I picked one of these up about a week ago, the proc is rediculous. I proc about 2-3 times per battle on avg and about 5-7 times maxed. it contantly does 855 dmg and have only seen it do less once.
