I won this the other night on my 65bst and my only response is this weapon rocks. i use this wepon for primary and hand of honer in offhand. There were indead monks and bsts bidding on this item but in the end the man with the most points walked away with it and that was me =D

<~bst... uses his dkp's on this,, i'll roll against yall monks or whateva,, i don't really think this is a class specific weapon.. both classes could benefit from it /shrug...
This still drop?

I've done XTC about 7 times recently and not seen this drop once.

Anyone know if this still drops?

And about Mnk vs Bst for this...

If you monks want this, more power to you, just dont be mad when the beastlord decides to spend his raid points on Caen's =)

Yes this weapon still drops. He dropped it for us last night (11/19/03) along with the shiny trinket of speed and the smith hammer.

One thing I think all of you are missing in your debates on whether this should go to a monk or a beastlord. The zone drops a few beastlord-only weapons, and some monk/beastlord weapons. There are NO monk-only ones that I'm aware of. So there should be some preference towards monks on the ones they can wield, even without considering the fact that there are 3-4 times as many monks as beastlords on most/all servers.
RE: This still drop?
# May 26 2003 at 1:00 AM Rating: Good
Well, you should also be patient with all the Beastlords out there who want to hog the h2h weapons. After all, h2h is the ONLY weapon skill they can get that will go to 250. All Monk weapon skills get that high, so they have a wider variety of weapons available to them. There won't be many(any) Beastlords contesting a Monk for an uber 1hb.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 15 2003 at 12:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ... are clearly retarded. Plenty of items and armor have either all/all or hp/mana bonuses usable by DIFFERENT classes. And are you here to loot the item now? Quit trying to speak for a community.

# Mar 15 2003 at 9:09 AM Rating: Default
This weapon is great for either monks and bstlords. The damage/delay ratio makes it better for a monk to use but the buffs make it better for a bstlord to use. Either way it's not a class-specific weapon. Once more this is a weapon designed around the roleplay abilities of the player.

i know im just the dude that carries the bags, but seems to me that all high end weapons like this that are monk / bst have +HP/MANA to suit either class therefor this is best for both classes? so what if a monk cant use the mana and so what if a bst cant deal 9687 dps? BOTH classes deserve a shot at any weapon like this simply because it is uber.

bst whines - but a monk cant use the mana / wis on it its for bst

monk whines - bst is ghey and they are for buffs only

so what? the primary stats would what? goto waste?
AC: +15 Str: +15 Sta: +10 Dex: +10 Magic Resist: +15 HP: +100 ??

i think dennis leary said it best when he said SHUT THE FUSmiley: yikesK UP! and that applies very well to all you who complain that a weapon tailored for two similar classes is just going to waste on the oppisite class

I play a monk, and I've passed on this thing twice... There's comparable monk weapons out there, attainable by any guild that can do XTC. The 15 wis/100 mana wouldn't hurt me, but why deny it to a class that actually uses those things as primary stats? If you would actually fight over this with your own guildy BL's then all I can tell you is... Grow up loot *****, you shouldn't even be in the position to see this.

Edit: Found it...

Couldn't find the freaking edit button.. On the same note as my below post, I'd ask that when that nice weap drops that has absolutely no wisdom, no mana *Cough* FoN for instance *Cough* the BL's use that same reasoning.. There's better stuff out there for you, and why deny us poor monks something that we could use?

Why onn earth anyone would pass this item up is beyond me. Look at the stats, its uber. Yea a beastlord would use the wis/mana, but why should it only go to them. If monk uses it he uses cause its got a sick dmg/dly, if beastlord uses it he uses it cause its got a sick dmg/dly, o and they get 15wis and 100mana also. Anyone who would loot this item for the 15wis is crazy, me playing a beast and monk think that its great wep for any class. But if you like giveing stuff to beastlords thats you.

as this seems to be a very touchy subject, i just want to say one thing. look at it from a strictly roleplaying view, and it seems to be suited for a BST. Why? Effect: Claw of the Khati Sha. Do the Shar Vahl BST quest and what are you? A Khati Sha recruit, with BST only "Khati Sha Claws" and Cloak. It appears Khati Sha is a Shar Vahl term for beastlord. I would think it weird if you saw other classes using proc names from different classes. Also, look at the other procs in this same scheme...Khati Sha is a 150dd, Claw of the Beast, 50dd, claw of the hunter 25dd. To me, they all seem like beastlord descriptions. Not monk. But nonetheless, this is a good weapon for both monks and beastlords, and if both are in a group that drops it, both should have the equal opportunity to spend as many saved up raid points, or roll, or however the guild handles the drop, on it. Its a good H2H weap. monk or beast

Roleplaying, sure and understand what you are saying. But think of it this way, with your approach, the Monks would be limited on alot of really good weapons just because they carry a focus effect not related to their race/class. Just my Smiley: twocents

I feel that this would be an extremely nice weapon for a beastlord or monk.

Besides, anyone Guild Capable of taking down this mob most likely has a point system in place. Which is really the best way to do things. The person who would help the guild the most gets the item.

Dont say who should get an item over someone else. The only way I could see someone saying that for an item is if it was a high damage piercer, then of course it would go to the best use in the hands of a rogue :P

I really thought the whole debate on which class can use is kinda beat. Obviously all Beastlords are gonna say Beastlords and all Monks are gonna say Monks.

actually as a Bst i said nothing of the sort....
I said its "equally" as good for either class and should be either rolled on, or at least give the Bst a fair chance at it in whatever manner, be it points or?
Instead of like most idiots here that for some reason seem to think that a Monk should just automatically get it, overlooking the Bst completely....."Thats" BS....
This weapon in the paws of a good Bst is every bit as good as it would be if given to a Monk.

so this should goto my 60wizard becuase i can instantly kill you with MB in a duel? christ get a clue! yep you got a pet... your pets not going to be doing the dmg... most of the time pets arnt even allowed on high end raids... if your going to go by logic of who should get this by damage the monks going to win vs you every time... but but but you can slow the monk and win in a duel!... when the hell on a raid are you going to slow your own monk thats doing damage? what are you mental? now your going to bring up that wall that i dont know the class... my alts - 60enchanter 60wizard 58cleric 57shaman 52beastlord 44rogue and 36warrior. all of which upto the beastlord have gone on raids to ssra to kill the creator and many other placeses as well. what will happen is this will like the other guy said end up going to a monk. it just happens that way if your in a system where loot is given out by the guild leaders.

"Monks are killer...they deal out a more damage than any other pure Melee... "
one word - ROGUE

"yet another bonehead that doesnt know jack about a Beastlord... "
appearently you dont know jack about any of the other classes. maybe you should learn

yes Rogues deal outb the most damage only from behind the mobs ... if facing a mob who would finish it off first ... the monk ... this is regardless of hp and ac etc ..... roguyes are onyl good at DMG Dealing because they are hitting from behind amob ... BS for a couple of hundred and no ripostes at all and hardly any dodges they will out damage any melee class ... give same situation .... much equal u will see who wins

A few things that I have to take issue with... Firstly, I find it highly suspect that any guild able to kill XtC is going to have people rolling on *any* major loot.

Secondly, yippee yippee for you and your discipline, but allow me to use that same point against you. A monk gets the same discipline, albeit by a different name, as you do. They have double attack, which you don't. To me, this makes this weapon more useful for a Monk during disciplines. Besides, the discipline lasts what, 12 seconds? 15? Every half hour or so? Explain to me how this is even a relevant point, please.

Thirdly, and I'm sorry, your pet doesn't outdamage any of your melees. He doesn't outdamage the Rogues, he doesn't outdamage the Rangers, and he doesn't outdamage the Monks. If he does, your guild's melees are in dire need of upgrades. Maybe something better than fine steel.

Next on the list... I'd like to know on what raids pets are a complete necessity. Barring the aforementioned Rak fight, I can't think of a single instance. Sure, pets can be useful for some extra damage, but they're far from a necessity. And during some fights, they're anywhere from useless to detrimental. I also fail to see what the Glowing Mithril Ulak has to do with your pet anyway. Does your pet proc more because you have it? Does he hit harder, or faster? Nope. Your pet couldn't give a good G-d damn what you're wielding. Therefore, your pet is irrelevant.

Lastly, this whole "who kills who in a duel" thing is pointless. Like the previous poster mentioned, duels mean less than nothing on a blue server. If you were to bring up your "with this weapon I could kill a monk in a duel easy" reasoning, you're going to get laughed at. A lot. For quite a while. Even from people that aren't in your guild. Or your server. Maybe even from someone on the street that doesn't play EQ, but knows someone that read about your comment on another server's message board. Seriously, that's not a point, that's a joke.

Putting all the above aside, however, I'll say the following. This weapon would be killer for either a Monk or a Beastlord. However, it might be more useful in the hands of the class that melees more effectively, and Beastlord melee is secondary to Beastlord pets/spells.

obviously you know ziltch about a Beastlord.....a beastlords spells are all but useless...for Damage, a Beastlord is mainly Melee....anyone that plays a Fizzlelord as a caster is an idiot...
the spells are mostly for minor to medium dam and slowing/debuffing...
then between fights you help buff a little

Ive never said a Bst can outdamage a Monk without his pet which is exactly why this is just as good for bst as a Monk, and any bst in a Raid should have equal opertunity to get it..
the world does NOT revolve around a Monk....

The Bst can use EVERY stat on the weapon Wis+15
Mana+100 would be a complete waste on a Monk all others would be equal...

Yes yippie for me i have basically the same disc as the Monk, and yes the Monk has double attack(actually i think TRIPLE attack to be exact) but i DO GET double attack with 1 more yellow Bub at lvl61 with 2AA points.. so what? that all the more reason a bst should at least get the CHANCE to get such a good weapon.....Most monks i see spend about as much time FD & or pulling as they do Meleeing...

and you yourself just admitted "I'll say the following. This weapon would be killer for either a Monk or a Beastlord" so why shouldnt a bst have an equal chance at such a good and rather rare weapon then? instead of just automatically being passed over? Bst get very very little as it is as far as loot, there is hardly anything decent a bst can wear to improve stats....the best items by far for a bst to improve are weapons that give good stats, and to be automatically passed over when you can use the weapon just as much and actually use EVERY stat on the weapon is absurd.

any guild worth a copper will want ALL thier Melees with the highest dam output possible, not JUST the Monk which with few exceptions usually spends LESS time meleeing that the Bst would anyway....

Heh my pet quads for 68 bash/stuns for 26 has a 142DD +stun proc that usually procs no less than 6-8 times per min and has a permanent 85% haste, plus once i get to 50% health he /shields me and takes 50% of the dam and has at least 3500HP unbuffed....Yeah, "And during some fights, they're anywhere from useless to detrimental" somehow i dont think so....he he.....

a Beastlord with high AGI & Dex fighting along side his pet, which is WHY we are called a BEASTLORD,with a pair of good weapons such as the GMU & his offhand Epic, will outdamage any Monk.

With the /pethold I have 100% control over my pet, teh pet is NEVER detrimental on any raid ive ever seen, and puts out approx 60DPS, i currently put out about 55-58DPS with weapons/spells/etc, with soon Double Attack which will raise my DPS, and hopefully better weapons someday (since fortunately im in a guild that wont automatically just hand a killer Mnk/Bst weapon to the Monk) thats at least a good possibility, which will also raise my DPS.....right now im at about 120DPS
or well over 7K per min plus slows & debuffs...

"Sure, pets can be useful for some extra damage"

60+DPS +stuns, + /sheilding me take 50% of my dam, without taking ANY mana from Clerics for heals or Rezs, is actually bit more than just "some extra damage" :)

a Beastlords pet is never irrelevent, thats like saying a Monks kicks are irrelevent does a Monk weilding the GMU get better kicks?
to take a bst pet out of the equation would be the same as taking a Monks Kicks, A Rangers Bow, and a Rogues Backstab....It what makes THAT char what it is....
MY PET IS ME, thats at least half of my char...

and i Melee just fine thank you.

Dude you need to get over your high AGI/Dex because they are both pretty much useless.

Yes monks get triple attack at 60.

And yes this is nice for a beastlord.

But keep in mind that without pet hold AA many Bsts don't get to bring a pet into an area where the AEs are going off because Kitty cat (in your case) like to run off and find a fight, then all of a sudden your raid is getting wiped.
Also while we're discussing /pet hold command I've personally witnessed a bst pet even with pet hold AA run off and attack THO and there wasn't a thing that the bst could do to stop it. So even then you might not get to bring your pet, so in a raid situation you lose 70% of your DPS.

Hmm i gotta agree with Catpurr and Fathersuperior here.
Neither "Spott" or "Elitemonk" have the slightest idea of what they are talking about.

I take my pet everywhere with NP whatsoever, have never once had him run off and attack anything ever.
Also I have my Agi & Dex maxed and its far from "Useless"
and my pet certainly doesnt do even close to "70% of my DPS" LOL.
He does a solid 60+DPS and is relentless and takes no mana from anyone but me.
My pet does maybe 30% of my overall DPS as long as im meleeing and casting.

Beastlords have 100% control over their pets

never had /pet hold, fail for me ever...take my pet every where with NP whatsoever...

even WITHOUT my pet im now doing up to 160-180 DPS as long as the Mob isnt really highly cold resistant..

and No but high AGI and Dex are FAR from useless...
Im now fully buffed at 305+ AGI/Dex also have CA3& LR5...."because" of my high AGI i can actually tank halfway decently...I get missed ALOT for those 500-750+ hits in POP.

Plus when my 2 lifetap procs of 75 each go off ALOT "Because" of my high DEX it helps quite a bit i easily get 6-10 procs a Min 450-750 extra HPs coming my way and taken OFF the Mob....

IF i dont have my pet which is very rare, i might lose maybe 30-40% of DPS, NOT 70%....
My pet does from 55-90 DPS depending on buffs & procs etc...

run off and attack THO and there wasn't a thing that the bst could do to stop it.

Sure there was, its called /pet go away
pet instantly is gone...

Then of course if you have "Suspended Minion" you simply bring up your second FULLY BUFFED and ready to go /pet hold and your ready to rock.....DOH!

I think it depends on how you play, BST that does more spellcasting then melee could benefit from this as much as monk, just in different ways. Monk would indeed do more damage though, i agree.
RE: Better for a BST
# Jul 13 2002 at 5:59 PM Rating: Decent
I feel it is better suited for a Monk. I can also elaborate on this by saying that a monk will do more damage with this in either slot than a beastlord would. This is due to to the fact that beastlords need their pet for damage and lack double attack.

# Dec 09 2002 at 12:18 PM Rating: Default
Your a idiot that has obviously never played a beastlord at all. To say this weapon wouldn't be good for someone who can use all of the stats is insane. I myself have a lvl 42 and climbing Beastlord on the Drinal server and when i'm fighting be it solo or in a group I'm constantly casting as well be it dots or renuking as i'm fighting, this in turn adds to my damage output even when my weapons aren't proccing for me. So to say a Bst that plays the char the way i do couldn't make good use of this weapon show that you know absolutly nothing. Be fore you say a weapon isn't any good for a class try playing the class.
Best primary for a monk imo
# Jun 16 2002 at 3:26 PM Rating: Default
I think this is the best monk weapon in the game for primary. 150dd proc (from what I heard hard to resist), 17 DMG on primary (that's HUGE), 20 delay so it's very fast, and stats to ensure that it's the best monk one hander I've seen (100hp is always a plus). Put primal in offhand for proc, switch to something like fist of acrylia or Gharn's rock of smashing (if you're lucky enough to have gotten one before vulak went awol) and you got some massive dmg, massive.

if your not 58 yet, you still get stats and such.. you can even equip it. BUT! what it does is lower the damage according to your lvl; so at lvl one you might get 5 damage from this 17dmg weapon, it wont reach its full potential damage till 58.......plz dont speak if you dont know; for instance BP or tunics that are 51 or so on reccomended..their AC goes down according to your level and it rises as you gain lvls.....

no it's not...things that don't let you equip until you're a certain level say "required" not "recommended". this would indeed give you a scaled down version of the stats if you were less than the recommended level of 58

Hate to let you in on this but often the level of a mob is not what makes him Difficult. For Example, one group can take Emporer in Seblis who is 60. You need a raid to take Faydedar (lil water Dragon for druid epic). Also seeing this mob is in Ssra Temple you have to do a LOT to get to him and he probably has multiple Guards.

recommended level of 58 means that until you are level 58, it will not proc and you will not recieve the added stats on the weapon, or the proper damage/delay ratio. This is verants way of stopping twinking. If your under level 58 and loot this item, it would in effect be worse than fine steel.. closer to on par with a rusty sword.. until you ding to 58 and the stats and proc kick in. I have had many of the new items on my twinks and found they had to level before it was of any use to weild it.

Umm you can't twink with No Drop Weapons.

Sure you can, drag the twink-to-be corpse around until you find you some nice no-drop stuff. Rez that body and bada bing bada boom.

unless it has been changed you are able to equip items that are recomended under lvl but with a restriction to the stats until you reach the lvl.

now please explain to me how you think a dmg 17 del 20 1 handed weapon is even close to comparison to FS even without the added bonus stats.
# Jan 28 2002 at 1:35 AM Rating: Default
No, it means you can't even equip it until 58.. Much like a Club of the Ice Ocean, not equippable until 51

Restricted level of 58 does not mean someone under 58 can't use it. Like others before said, it means you do not get bonus stats, or something of the sort. I believe it is set up as a ratio or something, so the lower you are under 58, the worse it is. Nevertheless, this weapon even wielded by a level 1 would be far beyond fine steel. The damage probably wouldn't go under 10, the delay might not even decrease, the 15 stats and save wouldn't go below 10, the 10 stats not below 6, and the health and mana not lower than maybe 60. The last 2-3 things I said are just educated guesses from what I have observed in other people using "recommended level" items at a lower-than-recommended level, but I do KNOW that anyone that can loot this may use it, no matter the recommended level.

It would actually suck, and "Required Level 58" means until your lvl 58 you cant use the item
"Reccomended Level 58" means you don't get full stats and you dont get the proc, in fact most of the time the stats are pure crap until your within 5 levels of the reccomended.....
i use this in primary and golden hilted ulak in secondary and it's a pretty sweet combo, i just picked up a new 2hb, staff of flowing water, the PoP thing, its sweet, so if your guild can get this i suggest giving it to a beastlord because they have a higher h2h skill cap
recommende level?

That'll be hard work... particularly due to the "lore" aspect.

This weapon is on par with the difficulty of this mob. We have tried to kill the Creator a few times now and we barely make a dent in his HP. His AE not only does a fair bit of damage, but also lowers everyones Attack and AC by something like 300-400 points. He is far harder to kill than anything in NToV, Tunare, Yelinak, etc.... So far, that is.... We just need to find the correct strategy. =)

if he lowers attack that puts the bst in use as he/she has attack buffs
not saying this means the bst deserves this more than the monk should go to whoever has the points or however guild decides to do that it looks great for both tho i know next to squat about monks i play a bst i say whoever gets it should be gratsed and everyone who put up for it and doesnt get it better luck next time
