I know the blood is a reward for the quest, but is it used for anything else other than just to mark your progress through your tasks?
This is part of the augment quest for Bloody Kithicor for the side of Light. Clicking on the reward item here will give you links to follow to the complete augment and all the quests

Task "Shadows of Kithicor" from Diennic Lightheart. You will need to acquire the faction necklace (Army of Light Pendant) from Scout Talendien and equip it before he will talk to you to get this task.
Steps of the tasks are ...
Hail Volen (Armsmaster Volen in same camp)
Locate the Tarith's Maul Regiment (where Saleb the Ogre is on map)
Locate the Feerott Longblades Regiment (only camp to the NW of that)
Locate Lanys T'Vyl's headquarters camp
Kill Obliteration Sentinels (5 they are located around the camps above)
Present your report to Diennic Lightheart (back to camp with Kibrek)
You also receive 45 Chronobines, Faction with Silla Herald (the supplier), Experience and Blood of the Informed.
