Either Verant severely beat the drop rate with the nerf Truncheon (switching from the bat for something more damaging) or tribunal's broken. ;)
We were in Umbral for 6 hours today and got 1 (as in a single) item to drop, one of the druid-only bracers. We moved twice and were killing everything in sight, so it's not as if it was just our location or pulls.
Ok let's go over this one more time. Silver Plated Leggings (ranger wearable). Yes rangers CAN wear plate, just consider they plate they can wear to be "light" plate (or hence plated, not full).
actually this does follow a pattern... only the classes that can use 2 hand weapons can use this... bards and rogues cant use 2h weapons but rangers can...
It's just another situation of when they forgot BARDS are the fourth plate-class fighter...AGAIN.
(for those who don't know, each time a new set of plate armor came out, like lambent/planar/singing steel/thurgadin+, Bards always received either chainmail items or plate with chainmail AC; sometimes it takes weeks before the items are corrected and Bards can wear the right stuff).
Oh, and as for "recommended", I hear that if you equip it before that level you don't get the full AC of the item.
All the Umbral armor seems to be below the Velious quest armor, and on par with most of the planar armor. For those like me that can't do long raids very often this gives a nice alternative to hunt with 1 or 2 groups for a few hours and get some nice upgrades.

CHEERS to Verant.....even though Diablo blows imho compared to EQ, they had the right idea with minimum levels to use certain items. Verant finally figured out how to neutralize twinking. While I do twink, honestly, the game might be better off without it, IF Verant keeps up the good work on good risk/reward newbie quests for decent gear.
