By all means, let's give up 4 12/29 piercers for a 21/45 (23/45 if your target doesn't resist) 2HS. As someone already pointed out, it's not very hard to get a BABS (24/39). Why even bother with this thing? Personally, I have 4 mining picks... my Beastlords are each dual wielding 2 of them. :) Not easy to find a piercer a ton better than 12/29 withut busting your butt or spending a ton of plat.
Actually its slightly different... First check mobs magic resist... if it fails weapon hits as 23/45 plus level related damage bonus, if the mob saves against magic the sword hits as 21/45 plus level related damage bonus for weapon.
um i'd keep the sturdy grimling picks, only problem with them is lack of bein able to hit magic stuff but that won't affect u much just carry a few other weapons with u
and there are much better 2hs out there that don't cost much tkx to Luclin
I got this item for my low level warrior.. and it dosent have a Damage bonus to it... maybe because im so low. But there isnt a recommended lvl on it (if u know what im talking about). Well just wanted to warn ya, and check if ne one else had some information on this.
Pretty sure that damage bonus doesn't show up till you hit a certain level, also if you are a class that doesn't get a damage bonus, as your main might be, not sure what you are so can't say for certain, you will see damage bonus of zero regardless of your level, hope that help
Actually damage bonuses for the classes that get them usually show up on weapons around lvl 30, and get higher as you go, not 51 :P And the higher the delay, the higher the damage bonuses are. At one lvl, diff weapons will appear with diff bonuses based on their delay.
Damage bouns for warriors starts at level 28 and goes up one point every 3 levels for one hand slash..for 2 hand slash it is dependendant on weapon delay for instance at level 36 my warriors weighted axe at 45 dam 150 delay had a 45 damage bouns..
The Grimmlings I have killed in Hollowshade, Grim Forest and Tenebrous have ranged low 20s to mid 30s. Maybe not Newbie quest, but not entirely tough. Was fighting them with 42 to 45 Shaman and I could easily take 3 at a time in all 3 zones. Funny thing is though that this Weapon is still not as good as the Common Dropped BABS from Runnyeye. 24/39
But perhaps BANE means against a different type of classification of creature... maybe they only use the word bane for race/classes/groups of NPCS.
Since NPCs that can only be hit by magic can really be of all shapes, sizes and genres, perhaps it works the same, giving +2DMG when fighting wisps, ghouls and other undeads, and Lydl Mastat =P
Magic Damage means that if the critter fails its resist Vs. magic check, it becomes a 23damage / 45 delay weapon - for that one hit - and the critter gets a chance to save Vs magic on each hit.
Bane means:
if you have a 10dam/30 delay +2 Bane:undead weapon, the weapon will be 10/30 for everything you fight that isnt undead. it will be 12/30 for anything that is undead, no resistance check given.
