FYI, Not the same as brownie hair. The brownies drop both and if you are looking for strands, then make sure it's not plain brownie hair.
and multiple strands can drop from a mob.

Any Brownie model in Steam Factory works. Not just the listed ones.
Also drops off of "a chief mechanic" and "a Cogswheel brownie" as well as "a trickster" so it seems any brownie has the possibility of dropping this.
