Has anyone noticed that the +1 stats +5 mana type of this item. Might this quest continue somehow, much like the investigator quest in qeynos and the shawl quest in velious. I suspect that this quest will continue when Luclin comes out.
These items rock for Vah Shir Bards. The Tunic is actually a little better than the current quested one in Shadewavers. As for the stats, they're perfect for PvP, and the fact that it's no-drop is great for Rallos Zek, which is where I play.
I'm hoping to start skilling up my blacksmithing with my bard so I can do these quests when the items from ToFS become available to him.
First of all it's my pic. Second of all I was estatic to have this and I'll tell you why. I play on RALLOS. Almost everyone on Rallos will take no drop ANYTHING with stats for general questing. We all have 2 sets of gear, everyday gear, and maximum stats gear. This is everyday wear. When you can have people take your gear it's a whole differant ball game. Now I admit there are better things out there. But this stuff gives a lvl 30 character a real chance to be outfited in no drop without the help of a group of 50's protecting him while he loots some rotting stuff from SS. I have a bracer that is much better than this, but it's not NO DROP and I could not easily or cheaply replace it. So when I am doing my genral moving around and grouping I wear my 9 pieces of NO DROP and only put on my best gear when I am not very likly to get jumped. You never know who wants what and who will pay what to get something. So stop staying stuff is crap because you friends guild has already twinked you out. Some of us actully play the game the way it is supposed to be played.
And if anyone has a problem with this . . . come to Rallos and you can beat an apology out of me. ;p
Just drop the "No Drop" tag and it would be a nice twink item for casters. That +5 mana and +1 STR are great for under level 5. But then Verant would be encouraging twinking.
Sorry folks, 1 CHA is not going to redeem this item. The amount of effort to get the dang thing is amazing.
I've attempted to do these quests with my lvl 27 bard and guess what? One of the Spiritlings is now Trivial. Yup. Can't complete it without sending either a lower twink or finding a group of the appropriate level to kill it.
AND you have to goto ToFS to complete it.
All that for 1AC and 1CHA?
Risk vs Reward.
A Jeweler will make you better items in a few minutes time, and for less.
Well I've finally tired of watching almost everyone bash every new piece of equipment that comes out. Are you ppl stupid or what this is a quest item you turkey's. So you can't drop your lvl 60 in ToFS and farmn this thing and make 500pp a drop. Having 100000pp in the bank isn't the point!!! The whole point behind EVERQUEST IS TO QUEST! Hence the word Quest being in the name. Amazing that huh?
Not to Raz ya Myst, but some of the lvl 60s you hate actually enjoy questing. That's one of the things you can do at the high end.
I attempted to do this with my low lvl bard and was flustered at one of the spiritlings that took me 15 minutes to kill solo and another that was trivial at that level. I like quests I can do alone. In short, this quest takes variable levels (20-27) and various zones, for a relatively low reward.
vendors peg out on good prices around 110 charisma (slightly less for amiable or better, slightly more for apprehensive vendors) and carrying an item around that only adds one charisma isn't really worth it since there are lots of charisma items in game such as:
faydark ringmail +2-5 cha per piece opalline? earrings from unrest +5 cha sp necklace from paw/SK +5cha medal of merit from surefall quest +5cha electrum/gold cat eye bracers from jewelcraft +4/+7 cha silver/platinum/velium cat eye necklace from jewelcraft +3/9/10 cha crude stein +10cha from oggok guards some sceptre +15cha from a neriak/oot quest drake hide legs +5cha from sol a tunic +5cha from vendor in qeynos halfling raider cap +10cha rivervale quest +10 cha cap from interim of raincaller quest
I'm racking my brain trying to think of a single class that would want this item. Given the chance to have this item or leather/silk bracer, I belive most everyone would choose the leather/silk bracer instead of the very low stat bonuses. AC 1 kinda kills this thing for usefullness at low levels.
Just my humble opinion, Meirril- druid of Fennin Ro
Actually I am someone who would want this. Yes I agree that this item is useless as battle armor but it has CHA, in fact all the Purified armor has CHA which is really helpful when I want to buy platinum bars and gems or sell off my loot. And seeing as how I don't know of a whole lot of CHA armor that I can get ahold of for free and without much trouble this becomes very valuable in my book.
That and the fact that it is no drop, the pains you ahve to go to get this item are a complete weaste of time imho. It's nice that verant puts new zones in but dear lord, make somethign worth or time to trek to that worthless continent(well, except the hole and the occasional coffin run). It seems that they want people to come to thses new zones to "take the load off" other zones, well this item, and most of the quests in this zone are not what is going to do it; not to mention the crap experience that the mob's give.
yah i totally agree what the hell is the point of even puting the crap in the game, no one in there right mind is really going to want this, and no one is ever going to buy it for any kind of cash so it dosnt improve the economy or anthing, seems like a big waste of time to me.
No-drop, lightweight, decent stats (except ac). Good for Rallos Zek lowbie monks. Probably going to be really good for beastmasters, since it has mana bonus.
Just because you think it sucks doesn't mean it sucks.
This bracer requires going to the Tower of Frozen Shadows...any monk that can complete this quest can just as easily plunk his butt in EC and pay 50pp for a vox bracer, a -much- better wristpeice than this.
