...but not so good for the effort anymore

especially for a warrior with ornate.

Kizraks vambraces have only 4 less ac, 4(correct?) less stamina, and only 15 less hits.
Bazaar buyable, augment upgradable to 100hps with LDoN.

Not to mention the plate arms that can be purchased with AP from the North Ro camp which have VERY similar stats.

indeed you are correct.

the AC and full resists very nicely balance out the 25 hard HP... nothin an aug from GoD or LDoN HP aug cant help balance out if ur still concerned.

I'd be damn glad to get these for any of my characters, including the warrior, necro, pally, druid, rogue, or enchanter. All of them need the AC and the stats. Tanks do lose aggro on occasion.

I really wish EQ would not make so many items no-drop, I would love to see some of these items floating around(like I could afford it). Just a few, not all. It would really save SO many hours of keyboard bashing :-)

There is already more than enough farming of items to sell in EQ. The reason the majority of the high end stuff is NO DROP is to give a reason for getting 65. If I could buy gear for a level 1 that was just as good as gear that a level 65 was wearing why would I spend that kind of time and effort to get to 65 and get the gear. In my opinion a much better idea would be to make much more stuff NO DROP & LORE to prevent people from buying their way to the top.

Just my thoughts..

#Nyshraak, Posted: Oct 22 2001 at 4:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Anyone who actually gets to ToV in the first place is going to realise that AC and saves are #1, Int or whatever second. These Pauldrons are for *ALL* classes, not just melees. Anyh shaman who passes these up when given a chance to roll (although I doubt these would be rolled for...) is a moron, or needs to go back to level 30 or 40 when the tanks could taunt in time and the spells didn't do enough to kill you in one shot.

These are warrior shoulders all the way, sorry guys. I'm a shaman but I wouldn't let myself take these from a warrior, thats just silly. all / all means I could, but not should. Oh well, a year from now; who knows?

I agree. I'm a shaman, too, and these would be uber for me, but if I want melees to not covet stuff(fat chance) with mana and wisdom/int on them and try to hog all the good loot in the game, I can't play it the other way and feel bad if they get stuff that has NO mana/wis/int on it. I'd love these, but pass on them anyway even if they were awarded to me.

Heh, they should rename these to Viik's Pauldrons of Lead. Quite heavy, and good resistances. ;-)
Too bad Superman didn't have these when he went up against Kryptonite

Yeah, heavy and size tiny. This makes them 60 pounds and about the density of what? Lead? Uranium? Plutonium? Ok, I know tiny just means it's all races, but seems silly when you look at it.

But with +15 Str they make up for their weight.
#Fantabulous, Posted: Aug 24 2001 at 10:01 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Got a pair of these on Prexus. They aren't too bad. I've seen better though. I just keep 'em in the bank. Too bad they are no drop - was gonna trade em for some Gnome sammiches.......
#Raejin, Posted: Aug 24 2001 at 12:13 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Definately a monk item =)
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 24 2001 at 1:13 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Nope certainly didn't have to be said....
#Yoshihuru, Posted: Aug 26 2001 at 7:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) No. I'm gonna have to say that it was just never funny. Yeah. Not at all.
#Demeo, Posted: Aug 23 2001 at 6:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) odds are 90% of the people playing everquest right now will never see ToV much less get to Vulak, dont expect to ever get a pair of these.
#Flamma, Posted: Aug 23 2001 at 10:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why are you guys so negative about this extremely rare gear?? Of course no one really expects to get this stuff, but its still awesome that some people do.
#Poxxed, Posted: Aug 24 2001 at 9:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) why are you such an idiot? Who cares how negative they are? its not yer buisness why he is so negative.
#wolfran, Posted: Aug 24 2001 at 1:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Right back at ya, Poxxed.
#Adema, Posted: Aug 23 2001 at 5:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) man if this wasnt so heavy i would love one for my monkey
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 28 2001 at 10:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Even with ten weight, I'm sure most monks would still love to use this. Look.
#Raravis, Posted: Aug 26 2001 at 4:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) again, who cares.
#Raravis, Posted: Aug 24 2001 at 9:52 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) We honestly care....(NOT)
#Mubbens, Posted: Aug 23 2001 at 5:37 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Egad those are some nice shoulder pads! I would kill (the mob, of course) for those!!!
