This effect is not permanent. It is right click with random duration lasting on average about 5 min and can not be used indoors. The effect is speed, lev, invis, and see invis. The speed level is about the same as sow, even when used with a drum, instrument modifiers do not work with this BP.
They upped the ac of this bp when they redid all of the Kael and Skyshrine armors.
The effect is a right click.. as thus.. its not so great.. only use that it is good for is to run through a zone that your traveling through that you can't sing selos in, this lets you buff before you zone in and lets you zoom through with just better than sow speed, with lev and invis too.. so you don't want to do something to break your invis or it drops your speed as well.
This Item does not have a Perm effect it is right clickable. It hits the whole group and lasts for about 5 min or so. It is faster than SOC with just a MM drum
Permanent effect? That's odd. Don't get me wrong, it's a sweet BP. But it's got to be irritating to have to take off your BP just to be seen by other players.
Why is bard BP 4 ac less than cleric, SK and pally BP and only 2 more than chain class BP? Our tanking skills are too uber and need to be brought down a little or something? How bout some consistency...
All defensive skills maxed...any questions about why we need good AC gear? Bards dodge more hits than clerics do, but that's about it for the armored classes...ask the next 58-60 bard you see in an exp grinding group trying to do crowd control on three critters whether s/he thinks bard armor is too uber...I can tell you their answer. =)

It would be nice to have if it's only a PERMANENT SELF for the Pet classes reason and the PERMANENT GROUP for if you're in DEEP trouble and need a small speed boost (Song of travel slower than Accelerando). And one more thing, I wonder if inviz wears off if you attack? that would suck a bit especially if you have to zone to regain it...
There is an easy way to get the effect to work whenever you want it to at minimal effort. It can also be found on the page for Robe of the Whistling Fists (can't remember the name of whoever posted it; thanks though). Ok, here is what to do:
1. Make a hotkey for the BP on #10, or whatever you don't use much on your main hotkey page (must be main page) 2. Go to Options, then Keyboard, scroll over until you see User Defined 10 (or whatever number you picked) 3. Right click on that to select the second slot, then hit the right arrow key (left works too)
Now, what did that do? Every time you hit right (or left) you will do the effect on the BP! So just hit right to do effect, and no more clicking. Its an easy way to raise skill in sense heading, or other skills like that. Try it and see.
Slight problem with that is that this song effect conatins lev and invis components. Accidentally hitting right will result in your toppling out of the sky, possibly to your death if you have gone too high. Bad idea with this item.
Kael is not technically the "hardest", it's the hardest to get components for since the armor pieces drop in the tougher areas of the Temple of Veeshan.
All plate classes have the same quest- get a plate BP from random droppers on CoV faction in ToV, and turn it in with 3 flawless diamonds to your quest guy in Kael.
The effect on the breastplate is neither permanent nor bard song length. It is a random duration lasting at most around 5 minutes from what I've seen so far.
Actually a permanent effect on this BP would be bad. If it were, then you wouldn't be able to wear it if you had pet classes in your group sence that song casts group invis.
But sence it is a clickable effect how long is the duration? Please don't tell me its a 3 tick effect like the song is. That monk robe with the war song is and the poor monk have to keep clicking on their robe but at least thats just during a fight where yer clicking on kick and such anyway. That would be alot of clicks if you were guna be running across say WC.
this is going to rock on my bard! Selo's Song of travel with a PERMANENT effect will kick some butt! But I wonder if Selo's Accelerando could stack with this, then I would be faster than lightning!
