Just to confirm the drop rate on this one, I spent about three hours in the Inner Mine/Pit of Doom area and saw one drop. I spent four hours around the entrance and the turtles/crocs area and also saw one drop.

Hail Elder Nezzen Tru'tak
Elder Nezzen Tru'tak says 'I'm old, older than one might care to guees. I;m going to tell you a short tale; a tale of the powerful and chaotic dragon Vergalid. It has been centuries since Vergalid invided the mines and flusehd out the remianing giant inhabitants there. We believed that Vergalid came to possess an ancient [tablet] during this intrusion.'
You say 'what tablet'
Elder Nezzen Tru'tak says 'From what we know, the tablet had been engraved with the thoughts of the all-powerful Dyn'leth himself. We realized this when we recovered a [tattered document] from Dyn'leth's late scribe Entel'Razu.'
You say 'what tattered document'
Elder Nezzen Tru'tak says 'The document spoke of a hidden triggering mechanism within the chasms of the mines which are now under Vergalid's control. If you happen to come across the tablet, I would advise you to return it to me immediately. If the tablet falls into the hands of the Dyn'leth's minions, we may never know what secrets are contained within the etchings.'

You have been assigned the task 'The ancient tablet.'
Objective instructions:
Locate the ancient tablet Nezzen seeks. 0/1 Zone Vergalid Mines
return ancient tablet to Elder Nezzen Tru'tak 0/1 Zone The Steppes

Hak`Leth's Ancient Tablet is the tablet he is looking for.

A Twittering Mound also drops this. It is pretty rare. I would guess the rate is around 1/20.

I would agree - fairly common off the entrance mobs (VM).
[not as common as Serric's tabard piece, but much more common than the Shard, or Chairn that drop there as well]
