I have camped the prince 20 times with a 20-30 min pop time: no drops. I have gotten 12 Bone dice and 3 shields and 1 bracer. So my question is...how rare is this cursed cloak?
i have killed him 4 times, 1 bracer, 1 shield, 1 cloak. No dice, or other junk... now i wanna kill the king for the crown, naginata, and al the forlorn junk that drops here+ a full suit of cold iron! I wanna try and obtain and sell my warrens style set =) or make a twink with it! I am 24, but with my buddy i could do it easy
I killed him about ten times while levelling, cloak dropped three times, bracer once, shield once. I think drop rates increased in this zone, it seems you can't kill the smith without tripping over the hammer these days.
Was strolling through North Karana and entered the bridge leading to South Karana. Went upstairs and was asking the merchant up there if I could view his wares. Well, He told me that he had this great cloak that just came. I ask him if I could see it. He reached under the stairs behind him and came up with the Cloak of the Forlorn......."24 Platinum for you, dear sir", he toldme. Wow.....SOLD
AHHHHHHHHH this really costs that much??? I lost one of these to the drowned citizens in FP yesterday... and I was like, 'oh well, how good could it be?'. Someone please slap me... -_-;;
Since I'm fairly certain you're referring to the trivial loot code: Yes. You could still get the drop. You'd most certainly need one or two people with you. Best, actually, would be to have a higher level person pull him from the midst of his bodyguards, so you could kill him without worrying about his buddies.
Well, that is entirely up to the seller/buyer.. i say it is, there isnt many objects that add int for your back. when i got this for 100, it was only -1 wis, +1 int, +1 MR, +5 mana. Then when i looked at it not too long ago, it was a whopping 3 int. click on pricing data, see how many people have one and how many people sold one. I think that not too many people will sell this unless they are in dire need of cash. if so, i think you could sell it for up to 1k.
1k? Are you nuts, you can buy it off me for 1k. This item is garbage and should not be on any int - based caster even if its is +3 int. This is a good item for like a level 2 necro. Also AC of 2, thats not very helpful in the grand scheme of things. Goodluck in your journeys!
My master got one...i dont remember how. He asked me if i wanted it, i said yes, and he gave it to me. he found out he made a mistake and now he keeps trying to find ways to pry it off my back. Its a great item, and i know it is obtainable, but just as obtainable as <insert one piece of cold iron>.
if you have invis and can get past the two skeleton guards(conned gtm lvl 16 ENC) you should be able to make it. Azzur of the Dreadful hat is the real threat to making it in. I died with invis vs. undead because i feared the guards, only to find out he saw me first and killed me. My advice, cast invis and get close enough to con the guards to the newbie area. Then run for it if its ok.
You dont even need invis the aggro radius on theses guards is almost non existant. I run past them with a level 11 wizard that is kos and they do nothing. The guards are level 10 but fight like 50 BTW, but they will not aggro if u run past them.
It's not the skele guards you have to worry about... I run my newbie Erudite Cleric past them with NO problem. It's Azzar Habbib and his pet (he's a SK) who has a huge aggro radius (he spawns in the archway OVER the skele guards and if he is even slightly out of his normal place he will aggro anyone between the ridge in the newbie area to the archway.) He's not a pleasant chap, HT'd my 12 cleric down by 3 bubbles, nuked me once then sent his pet after me to finish me off, didn't even make it to the zone. Best thing is to hope Azzar is busy elsewhere.

Whats it for then? Hmmmm all corroded stuff is quest releated and I knwo this is quest related cause according to it monks can use the shield. I am gonna send the item today.
It would be a fairly tortous route, but probably. You'd either need a TP to Toxxulia, or else need to go to Qeynos, cut through the catecombs to the docks, take the boat to Erudin... uh, from there I don't know. I think you'd need invis. Actually, invising through Qeynos works too. But then apparently you go to Paineel (where they'll probably actually like you) and go to the Warrens.
Porting to toxx would be the easier way, then walk south into Paineel. You will probably be 'threatening' or 'dubious' depending on what god you worship, but killing a few Kobolds in Warrens will get you to dubious at least. Unfortunately it seems to take a hell of a lot of kills to get to indiff as a DE, but if you've got the time....
