the real way to play a rogue
# Nov 18 2002 at 9:16 PM Rating: Decent
ok just so you know if your a rogue you will always be grouping...always....and youll always get buffs str ect...if your good it means you can 1..pull..need ac...2 controll where aggro goes..this is possible 90% of the time...of course some tanks are so uber youll never get aggro..but if not you want aggro...you want to give it to the right person..meaning the ma whoever that might be...sometimes just a shammy standing close to get aggro when you hide..str and dex are great but in the 60 groups youll always be maxed...always...so you can and need ac..and you should normally use proc weapons..thats why you have hide...to lose aggro when you want...rogues not take damage..bah..anyone that sais that has no clue...you should be taking damage ..deciding where the aggro goes and pulling..of course you need non aggro weapons for that time when you just cant lose aggro cause your group sucks...but what ya gonna do..as long as you get str dex above 200 then go ac all the way..its easy to take no damage ..even with proc weapons..its harder to take some damage and decide where the aggro will be..

Does anyone here really play a rogur
# Oct 13 2002 at 9:38 AM Rating: Decent
I keep on seeing complaints about this items AC.If you really play a rogue you would knpw AC means CRAP to this class its all about stats .If your a rog in your party and you start getting hit then something has gone wrong or your useing a proc weap with high agg proc (which a good rog would not use anyway but man ive seen it a lot) .Either way it spells RUN !!! My point is this rogs are damage dealers not takers (leave that to the meat shields) and if your getting hit on a regular basis either your group sux and its time to shout for a new group or you are playing the class wrong and its time to make a tank for yourself.AC means nothing to rogs just stats and effects lerarn that and your on your way to lvl 60

the idea is that its not *too* difficult to max your stats with items and buffs, so its nice to have items that improve the stats that dont have a max, such as AC, resists, attk, etc

this item is GAAYY, not worth the time... as with just about every other rogue item here... PoA = sucks for us rogues

never played a rogue before have ya? or reached double digits in age for that matter for your proficient misuse of the word "gay"

just to clear a few things up- 9 str and 9 dex on a neck item is pretty uber. granted there is much better with luclin/PoP but not every single rogue has an elemental guild.

as for every other rogue item, the belt has 41% haste. consider that for the rogues who have replaced their epics with weapons with better ratios.
please

Rogues need str and dex, ac is important but so is evading and not getting hit. This has a nice bump to some important stats. higher str makes the BS/dmg numbers go up..but hey its only for the neck, make up the ac elsewhere.

One thing to remember before you bash this item, as well as other PoA items. Do you remember when Plane of Air was released? Now, think about when spider fur collars were released.....point made?

By the time you can get this item you will be wearing at least a spider fur collar. No one is going to trade that for this item. Calling an Item PoS is all relative. As was said of above, if you could get this in Lguk at lvl 40 it would be very nice. By the time ur in ur 50s though, well it is a PoS.
junk

sentry chocker is better. 9ac rocks this crap
Not nice
# Jun 02 2001 at 6:23 AM Rating: Default
Bah, PoA once again proves that the PoS acronym is more accurate. This would be decent loot dropping in Lower Guk or something but a Plane of Air quest? You must be kidding.

I *hope* this was amongst the upgraded items, I could get *much* better with far less effort from SoV. Heck, as one fella pointed out, the Ulthork Collar is an improvement in AC and HP. And, frankly, those are the biggies. (Not to ignore the nine strength but at 5AC with no saves? Nah.)

cheers

wow this is nice i like the ac str dex and hp on a necklace. im not a rogue but this wouldnt be bad for my warrior and heck rogues arent that different from warriors.

I'll second that for my Paladin. This is not a bad neck item at all!
RE: Nice
# Feb 16 2001 at 1:13 PM Rating: Default
I think the point is that 'not bad' isn't a glowing review for a PoA item. Personally, I doubt my Rogue would swap out his Ulthork Collar for it. (7AC and 30HP) I definitely take a Crystalline neckpiece at 12AC over the stats as well. (The stats are nice but hardly insane.) Perhaps some resists could liven the item up a bit.

Nosferatu maybe you missed it, It's rogue only sorry no paladin using this.

I dont think he missed anything. I think he was just admiring the item and would like a similar neck piece for his char.
