And Dain said let there be LIGHT!!

just got this today, and after 55 levels of seeing in human vision, the Vision improvements alone are worth the raid points i spent on it, however, the 30 ac, 20 mr, 5 to all other resists, and Customisable is NICE. Now all i gotta do is figure out how to Customise it )

Rogue speant 10pts today on brell so it wouldn't rot. There is a armorer right near where the king spawns who will customize for you if faction is not dstroyed.
# Oct 23 2002 at 6:36 AM Rating: Default
so the odd question is.. what type of graphica does it have? standard plate?
RE: graphics
# Dec 03 2002 at 10:31 AM Rating: Decent
It has no graphic when it's first dropped. But it can be customized (from any NPC that can customize hats).
RE: graphics
# Jan 17 2003 at 8:52 PM Rating: Decent
what npcs can customize graphics?
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 16 2002 at 1:13 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This isn't naggy... This is a dain kill... there will be a poiint system as pointed out..
RE: Rolling = shit
# Nov 03 2002 at 2:04 PM Rating: Decent
This won't go to the most greedy player cause the most greedy player won't want it. People kill dain for the belt not the helm, this helm is crap, it doesn't have hp or sta, it will most likely goto some lucky newbie or alt. No one really wants to waste their points on something like this.
# May 28 2002 at 10:27 PM Rating: Good
Now I remember why I detest coming here.... Lets make something very clear;

If you are capable of getting this item, you are already in a guild that has a point system. You dont all just /ran 1000 to see who gets it. Its either a point system or reward, and usually the former. Put down the stupid debates, thats how it works.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 22 2002 at 12:08 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Could you imagine what would happen if they were desciding on who wins roll and then someone walked up and looted it?
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 19 2002 at 8:43 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) God I want this helm, ultra and see invis forever, sick ac, nice resists.

Don't hold me to this, but if you go into Skyshrine up to the large room with the armor-quest wyverns (on the way to Yelinak), you'll see a large wyvern just as you enter. He's 58+ (RTM at 56). If you go up to him and work the conversation, he'll give you a list of helms you can hand to him. I believe I remember the Frostreaver's crown among them. I'd imagine if your faction is good enough to do the SS armor quests that you could receive the custom graphics (I'm max ally, so I can't say for sure how high it has to be).
RE: rangers
# Jul 25 2001 at 12:21 PM Rating: Good
Sorry for the interruption here but uh... No, you don't know a whole heckuva lot about Monks.
"monks have a TON of all/all low weight high ac items in velious." My friend, what are you smoking and where can I aquire some? I WISH we had a wide selection of low weight high AC items. But we don't. They're a very, very vast minority when it comes to items. Many of these items are only available to the elite as well for that matter. I'm a 55 Monk, I'm not in Afterlife or Forsaken Realm (the two uberest guilds on the Mithaniel Marr server for those of you who don't know) and these are the guilds that get loot like that. It's not something you see every Monk and his little brother Jimmy sporting around Freeport.
So don't dare say that a Ranger is more deserving than a Monk or Rogue for this item. It just plain isn't so. Look at your upscale AC items and look at ours. The AC just isn't there. Same for Rogues, bless their black little thieving hearts. I'd venture to say you should be allowed to roll, as should everyone that would genuinely use this crown. But you take no priority as a Ranger.

Boy, Anti, you sure have come long way since this post. :)

Good to see you got yourself some of those high AC fancy items that you always wanted. Dark Bane too... my how you grew!

Hugs to the craziest monk on Mith Marr.

Fancy seeing you post here, Massa:) now, if only you'd have said paladins should have priority on this (sarcasm...paladins get shafted, IMO:) ).

#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 15 2001 at 12:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think that it is axiomatic that casters are the most selfish people in the game. I'm not saying that ALL casters are that way but most that I see and hear are.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 03 2001 at 2:41 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Oh come on please, lets not get stupid here. This crown rules, and is awesome for just about anyone. Arguing on a message board about who this item is best for, is lame. We ALL know its best for High Elf Clerics, anyways.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 11 2001 at 8:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think it's better for gnome clerics =)

#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 08 2001 at 5:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You can ***** the helm, I'd personally like to have one, Even if the Effect was True North...I'll take 30 ac and 20 magic resistance anyday.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 29 2001 at 8:46 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You are thinking of True North, not True Sight.

got helm today and truesight is ultravision + see invis

its nice to finally be able to see!
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 28 2001 at 10:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) especially from a monkey's point of view, having more then double the AC of my current helm... messa like
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 22 2001 at 10:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) hmmm, since its no drop and people just let newbs that get to thurg loot the royal frosted....mabey ill get lucky one day and get to loot this....i might sit around and see what all no drop stuff i could get :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 27 2001 at 12:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) >>>>people just let newbs that get to thurg loot the royal frosted....mabey ill get lucky one day and get to loot this....
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 10 2001 at 8:27 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think he was joking..
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 02 2001 at 6:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) newbies in thurgadin? not likely, unless they get a higher level escort, but then, what would be the point? Except I guess to loot no drop armor, but I rarely ever see Icewell Keep raids going on, it's kind of a gimp zone to fight in and the Dain's lewt is nice, but hardly worthy of a bloody level 70 NPC.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 26 2001 at 12:36 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'm thinkin this will be worn by monks the most.. There's probably a better Warrior only head item.
# Feb 20 2001 at 3:46 PM Rating: Default
monks have a TON of all/all low weight high ac items in velious.

this item is best for Rangers.

#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 01 2001 at 10:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) pass the bong this way, please
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 02 2001 at 6:32 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Heh, Jeskola is 100% correct, and you monks are whiney little bastards. If rangers could get over 200 defense, then you could talk, but til then kiss my 1010 ac ranger butt, thx :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 26 2001 at 4:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah, best for monks, would really be good for any class, though, even casters. At least I know you would see my necro running around with this on. :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 26 2001 at 8:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Jeez that would be an amazing waste on a necro.
What it does is...
# Jan 25 2001 at 10:11 PM Rating: Default
What True sight does is it makes you Always face True north. the duaration is 45 minutes. its really usfull for walking in a strait line north.

RE: What it does is...
# Jan 25 2001 at 10:16 PM Rating: Default
HAHAHAHA... thats true north....My chanter has the spell but has only used it once after he bought it.It sits in the back of the spell book now gathering dust
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 24 2001 at 11:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ... what does it do?
RE: Truesight?
# Jan 25 2001 at 3:56 AM Rating: Default
I would think it is see invis. Maybe a combo of see invis and infravision/ultravision. Would be my educated guess
RE: Truesight?
# Jan 25 2001 at 6:16 AM Rating: Excellent
Yep, see invis and ultravision according to spdat.eff
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 25 2001 at 5:43 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Wizards have a spell called PLAINSIGHT that fits what you are talking about, but never heard it called TRUESIGHT.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 25 2001 at 12:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 25 2001 at 1:13 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Im looking at the +30 ac. Nice. Of course you must be a super elitist, in a big "Uber" guild to even think about owning it, so for us mere humans it is a pipe dream
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 25 2001 at 3:13 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I can see the fights now Warriors saying thay should get it due to AC and SV Magic and casters wanting it for the SV magic
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 25 2001 at 1:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why would a caster need sv magic more than a warrior?

Why would a caster want/need a high MR? Due to the fact that a spell that would take 1/3 to 1/2 life from a warrior will kill a caster. Resist gear isn't class specific, we all want to resist/partial resist those big nasties. But yes, I could see everyone rolling for this... =)
RE: Truesight?
# Jan 26 2001 at 3:19 AM Rating: Default
Anyone capable of killing dain does not roll on item, i assure you.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 09 2002 at 2:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) any time anyone says the words "roll" he says something about big guilds nto rolling on items. We get the picture thanks, move on ;)
RE: Truesight?
# Feb 21 2002 at 2:19 AM Rating: Default
I agree with the above, your forsaken realms, and not to leave last Afterlife's can kill Dain, well let me assure you that they already have it down who will loot what, depending on who raids most often and needs what... and that is what makes them uber, not like the everyday LoIO booty looters rollin on copper amulets =P
