Situationally, it has 2 real nice uses:
I switch out to this just before I hit rampage. Then back to regular weapon.
Riposting mobs are another example of when to break out the tusk.
It has it's uses.

i have this wep on my 70 ranger and 65 war and my wars max crit seems to be 1k exact no buffs and my 70 ranger hits 1580 crits all the time self buffs a little over 2k attack just wanted to post that for people who thinks it only does 1100ish crits very nice wep imo its a great and i mean great wep on a pvp server

ya this with haste is very nice for slays i think my top slay with vanq undead 3 was 13991 i can't wait to get the new annihilate undead aa

70 Sk on rathe server, 45% haste from Fabled Cloak of Flames and chanter haste, plus add a stun/proc aug for extra 200 damage, with the damage bonus (71)= kicking some serious butt. You definately deal out a lot of damage with this thing though dps may not be as nice as some others, but the higher delay gives chance to proc more if you were able to find a nice aug for it. Avg hits for me 550-750, crits were 1100 and up.
I am also a level 70 SK and love mine as well. With a good mini-raid going with gobs of buffs and auras up I was seeing 1221 crits very often, and with the Speed of the Knight AA it often would run along the lines of:

Effects not considered, this thing is at least near, if not right on par with the 1.5 epic considering the damage bonus would probably more or less make up for the .027 ratio difference.
A stun/dd aug is definately a good idea for this weapon.

71 SK and just got my 1.5. 61/35 with a 47 dmg bonus. With crit aa's up to Veterans Fury (TSS) 1/3 I am getting crits that max at 1056. with a 100 dmg weapon i would sure hope the numbers would be much higer than what you guys are posting.
68 berserker with this getting 707 max hit with shaman buffs, max crit with discipline so far is 1960. i love this weapon, i just got the 1.5, 50 dmg 30 delay i havn't realy done any dps parsing with the 2 weapons yet but this is a great weapon and i still use it a lot
If you are using it over youe 1.5, you are losing a lot of dps.

70 guildy with Vanquish Undead 3 is getting 13K slays with this. If you don't believe me, find a paladin with one.
I got a crit of 1118, while fighting the Fabled Tantor the 2nd time we kilt it. usual rounds were from 300s to 600s at 1500 Atk. Best 2h dmg numbers i have seen by far (usually use pal 1.5 or Fang of Feratha).

Don't let the flashy high hits fool you though.
DPS-wise, its not that great. It barely beats the Edge of Envelopment. The paladin epic will out-dps it.

course the nightsbane will outdamage it, its 20 delay faster... Cant compare an epic 2.0 that takes a ton of effort from a ton of people to get to a weapon like this that an sk/druid box team got for my berserker. Alla's comparative efficiency clearly shows that its alot more powerful than an edge of envelopment as well. great weapon that is far too easy to obtain and also is very nostalgic to alot of people. i remember when my warrior had a tantors tusk years ago and felt like the king of the world lol

I never said best DPS, i said best (BIGGEST*) numbers. I check efficiency rates and parse with yalp. I use Feratha for 2h dps most times, and 1.5 for dual lifetaps when soloing, or when i need the healmod.
I re-iterate, with 100/60 and paladin slay/vanquish undead AA, these are the best (ie: BIGGEST) numbers I have seen in a weap so far in game. BIGGER Max Crits means BIGGER Max Slays for pallies. BIGGEST Max Slay = BEST Max Slay, and prettiest for our "I love me" screenies.
Hope this clarifies things for Kalysta and any others who may be confused.

seen a link in game for it tonight, im a lvl 70 warrior, the damage bonus on this is actually 71 not 70 at lvl 70... i know its not that much of a difference but just figgured i would let ya know bout the mistake on item info above.
The ONLY flaw with this weapon is the 60 delay.. It can be cut down drammatically with Miraculous Visions/36% haste item/chanty haste. But other than that this weapon is awesome. Got today and max hit so far (a crippling blow) was 1,937. I am not kidding, am telling the truth. I don't know if high-end 2handers hit for that hard but all I know is that this weapon is a dream for what little effort it took to get. I took him out with a 70 war (me), 70 druid, 70 cleric, 70 mage, 70 ench, and a 70 bl. You don't have to have high end gear or anything. Just make sure you have a well-balanced group and a lot of dps. Max hit I saw (i do NOT have good defensive aa's as of now) was 1,500 from him. A good weapon, an easy mob.
