I bought these for 2.1k for a great deal on povar, i have to say... my mana increased by about 1/8th of a blue bub... thats a LOAD of mana, difference between 1 more root or another dot to end a mobs life. I feel alot of people like the focus effect on GEBS... thats why they get them. I say ppl can wait an extra 3 seconds for their little buffs
These boots are better, trust me. All of my druid friends have recommended these to me, and I'm saving up to get them. Even though the GEBs give 9 Int&Wis, the 35 mana makes up for it on the coldains. GET THESE, they are awesome.
Yeah, these are without a doubt better than GEBS but GEBS are more expensive for some reason(who, among the people that would wear either of these, wouldn't drop one wis/int and 2 AC for 35 mana?).
I find it wierd that you can buy these for less than GEBS.

I think many people like the GEB graphics and perhaps they are just better known (though I doubt that) so I would have to say its a fashion thing and yes there are people in everquest more concerned with looks than stats, call it roleplaying i guess.
To those of you wondering about these vs. gebs. Here's the breakdown for mana and int.
You get 12 points of mana for every point of int/wis up to 200. For every point of int/wis over 200 you get 6 points of mana. I don't know the mana formula's for those below level 50 but I think this will help.
So all in all, these boots give more mana for me (level 53 magi).

Actually, I don't know what the INT formula for mana is, but WIS casters use the following formula regardless of level :
(( WIS / 5 ) + 2 ) * LVL
So ... in short, 1pt of wis = .2 mana, so at level 50, 1 wis = 10 mana, at level 60 1 wis = 12 mana, etc, etc.

GEB's would give 9 int/9wis to ur drood or pure caster or whoever u have wearin em...but the 35mana prolly makes CSB better, thats coming from a GEB drood hehe, altho geb's match my druid well for looks anyway but these boots aren't bad @ all

I saw these auctioned in EC the other day, so I sent a tell to the seller asking how much she was selling them for. She said she'd go as low as 2.5k.. I gave her 1.7k and a velium sapphire necklace for these bad boys. :) The extra mana is always nice to have, and they look a lot better than GEBs would have looked on me. So I am a happy druid. :)

When it comes to caster boots, there are the people who think GEBs are superior and people who think Coldain Skin Boots are superior.
As far as look goes, I'm all for Coldain Skin Boots which show as a darker version of the leather boots. It's just my opinion that it looks better as a druid than being all leather, with maybe some runed mithril bracers, and then suddenly giant gold metal boots. Depending on how the seller feels about the boots him or herself, they'll sell anywhere from 3k-5k. I bought them for 2.5k because I was lucky, and the seller was very nice. Those who wear GEBs tell you GEBs are better because of the +1 to whichever stat or those couple extra points of ac, but those who know, sell Coldain Skin Boots for more than GEBs, which are available from a few different sellers everyday whereas you're lucky to see Coldain Skin Boots auctioned, at all.
Of course, I might be completely bias because I chose to wear CSBs instead of GEBs. :)

I did quest with amiable and it didnt work, got up to kindly and it did. So kindly is minimum faction. Hope that helps.

People on the Vazaelle server are still selling them for 5.5K and up. When some one wants to sell me a pair for 4.5K on Vazaelle I will buy them; until then I can do with out.

These are way better than Efreeti... 1 point of wis does not equal 35 mana =P. Combine these witht he gloves and the PKT (pearl kedge totem 18wis hand held) and you got yerself a winnign combo. Got all resists over 100 now =)

i have already started farming the dwarf that drops the head for the quest with some friends on our server. at first we just all wanted to get a pair but they sell for so much we just go and kill the huntsman/scribe and got us some boots and gloves.

According to Eq`Lizer, these were found in Kael Drakkel, I would be interested in finding out where these really come from.

They do come from Kael Drakkel (as a drop), and they also are a quest reward from there (on King Tormax faction).

also consider this if you just discovered these boots that will fetch a nice bit of loot in trade or enough pp to overweight your common player wouldnt you try and keepthe dro a secret so you and your guild could farm some up
These could be famred for major profit. Since the boots are tradeable, they can be done again and again. Those that chose giant factions over dwarf will make a hefty amount or be a master trader. If this happens, the cost of Eboots will plummet.

WOW these are better than Golden Efreeti Boots. GEBs are 9 int, 9 wis, 5 ac.
These are -1 int, -1 wis, but +35 mana. which in total is gonna be more mana than the 9 int or wis from GEBs. Also these can be worn by Iksar, so they are even better.

i would have to say they are both about equals.
if you're a tradeskiller and want max int/wis for that, and/or would benefit from enhancement haste 2, gebs edge these out.
if you're not going to be casting any buffs that are lower than level 45 spells, and aren't interested in tradeskilling, and are a good caster (dont need the extra AC at all), or already just happen to have 247 wis/int without footwear, these are better because you will get more mana from them.
if you're a combination of these two, you can argue with yourself over which is better =)

for twinks, these are much better than eboots.

2ac and 1wis/int is better than 35 mana if you havent hit 255 at higher levels
Dang..I was thinking the same thing. If these boots become popular, the cost of eboots will drop. I can see the auctions now..Eboots for sale, 500pp.
