Scars of VeliousIve killed over a hundred of these so far. Heres what ive gotten, besides the numerous gems I've found. I've also gotten 2 bracers, 4 Greaves, 2 vambraces, 2 boots, 1 gauntlet, 1 helmet. Yet no BP. Hopefully get the BP soon as Im twinking a N00b warrior with this armor (sold the extras)

Great armor for Dark Elf Shadow Knights. We struggle with low STR and STA. The few negative dex modifiers I can live with. I still proc with my Vampiric Embrace and my sword.
With the Iksar Pariah Mask I am down to 4 in CHA. Great for my fear spells. They last longer. I have to undress though when I sell and buy/sell at vendors, but I can live with that. Plus I look kewl. Check out the fashion tables

Being a noob with a twinked warrior that my lvl60 friend hooked up, I guess it would be awhile till my level 9 Ogre could obtain this Crustacean stuff I already have. Long live the twinks!

I killed about 50 othmirs, got a full et of crustacean armors, a half yellow bubble of exp at 57 in 2 days playing cool. and I am again dubious not kos.

I have killed probably close to 30 or 40 of these and all I've seen is that I started at indifferent and now I'm dubious to the point of not being able to buy from them, but not KOS yet.

Most of the othmirs dont give a hard faction hit. I was indiff to the otters when i first came to CS. I saw someone killing the chief and they looked like they could use a hand. Turns out after healing them and attempting to snare the chief, once he was killed, i took a tremendous hit from indiff to KoS instantly. however with other chars i have killed many and barely taken a faction hit. if you stick to warriors, shamans, and collectors, your faction should be fixable by killing ulthorks, but if you take a hit from the chief it is likely that this hit is irreversable.

Yes by all means try to attack the Othmir at with a group of mid to high 40s. This is what it'll appear like on your screen,
You slash an othmir warrior for 75 points of damag
an Othmir slashes YOU for 123
and they'll get about 19 more hits in before you can swing, they are SURROUNDED by shammys with speed buffs, sow, celerity, stat buffs up the *** and the rest are warriors pretty much, if you camp the shell guys your okay, but don't dream about attacking one of the little shell cities

i pull the warriors right from around the cheif without hassle. then again, im using harmony and it helps, need to get me just a pair of the leggings then ill stop the slaughter 8D
just imagine how many hit points this would give a level 60 ogre...
at 60 1 stamina is around 7 hit points or so...
15 stamina would turn into 105 hit points...not bad... Too bad the AC isnt the greatest.
Not to mention, you can probably get some nice Negative Charisma with this stuff =)

Yes just imagine, I'm not going to be critical but you do realize that AC is supreme above all else for melee classes, forget about getting more Hp with this focus on AC LOTS OF IT.
Oh yea, I defenitely agree. I certainly hope a lvl 60 ogre warrior isn't wearing crustacean =/. He should be in Kael/SS/Thurg at the very least. This armor is great though, for SK's and lower level warriors.

to get the Crustacean Shell Armor off the Othmir? I mean, what lvl group would it take to camp the Othmir and get some of the armor? I'm thinking about getting a 47 druid, 47 cleric, 55 chanter, and myself (40 warrior) to go set up camp there for a while. Is that enough to camp the Othmir?
If so, could i get directions to Cobalt Scar? None of us have been, and we're not sure how to get there. Thanks for any help I can get.

I soloed them at 50 as a druid. They hit pretty hard and its difficult to get them singled out but with some creative harmony and a watchful eye you can take them. For nearly any group you must get them singled out. Having a 55 chanter should solve most of your problems there. I have a full suit of this sitting on a twink and i think it gives 45 str and 83 stam (including the shield). Also gives negative 10 dex and tons of negative charisma. I was offered 10k for the suit the other day. With a full suit of crusty, you really only need to worry about dex and AC. It also looks pretty nifty and not too many people have it. Another thing, you cannot lower any of your charactaristics below 1 except for mana, hp, and resists. This gear is not the best out there but it is fairly easy to get. You shouldnt expect othmir's to drop cobalt-like armor.
I'd rather not have another race ticked off at me, is it possible to actually do the quest?

I think i got these guys really high from getting ulthork armor so what the hey.. be kinda hard to pull though. I've got the wyverns to dubious (claws of veeshan) so I think best bet would be harmo a camp, pull an outside warrior up there so more othmir don't jump in, and kill near the cliff side away from the othmir.
I bet this faction is easy to fix and doesn't go down that fast once kindly. Any walrus or ulthork raises it for one thing and there are tons in east wastes.
If the current SoV faction trends hold true, then killing anything will lower it's faction VERY fast, and raise other factions pretty slow. If you don't care about the Othmir faction, then by all means slaughter them, but if you want to be able to do any type of quests for them, you would probably be better off not killing them due to the severe faction hits.
