Just got these last night after being invited to join a raid and kill Venril Sathir. It was nice because I didn't expect any bard drops, we went in to get piece for Wizard epic. Fight was tough, first go around we were underpowered, second time was much easier. No enchanter so my slow (Largo's) ended up being the only one that landed and same with debuffer (Occlusion). Group was pretty high end for the most part, a lot of 60 plus people, I was one of the younger ones. The drop was a complete surprise so I was pretty happy!!
I doubt if I will use the effect very much at 57, but you just never know when it will come in handy. They look nice, and have good stats and AC, and I am very happy to have them. And not having had to pay for them is a nice change.

I think I am going to take my lvl 40 ranger to 50 and then start some new classes to see about a class I would take to lvl 55 maybe more. But I will not have any PURE CASTERS! I dont like them. I like to melee with songs/spells. But I dont like pure casters.. They are awseome to group with, but I have to have a tank/melee... Help me out =P
these boots are good only cause of the stats you wont need the proc after lvl 38 casue you can dot and snare after that you wont use that proc to often the stats are nice though. Also since the greaves and the boots have a click effect do you need to have instrument equped like the boots the levi song you need the wind instrument so with the boots since its a click effect do you have to use the instrument
Well maybe the effect maybe uselss to you after 38, but they still work good for me at 58-Their great as an escape if your rooted or snared, theyve saved me a few times in ME. Granted they are resisted alot, and will continue to be resisted more often; having them save me once is proof enough that their not a uselss proc.
first, greaves are Leg slot, not boots... and no you don't need an instrument equipped to use and armor clicked effect, such as the boots or these greaves
Well i have a question i have not tried it yet... But the new graphics on fear song the AE one are cool. But thte greaves fear graphics are different. Are the greaves target or AE, anybody know?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spell cast on you: Your mind snaps in terror. Spell cast on someone: Soandso flees in terror. Spell fades: You are no longer terrified.
This data contains an error, where it says "Song requires a Horn [sic]". Although using a horn while playing fear will (well... supposedly) give a more favorable resist check, the song does not actually _require_ a horn to be equipped in order to play.
The 4 second activation time on the greaves is so close to the 3 second time on Screech that there really is no effective difference, once you take into consideration stopping the song with another keypress. Also, there's no such thing as a missed note on an item activation. If you have these pants, there is never a need to mem Screech. It would probably slow down your twist rather than speed anything up. But it does take some getting used to, since the only way to abort the activation is to duck, whereas a song can be aborted at any time by pressing any song key. Ever feared in the lev tunnel in Chardok by accident? Bad things, man... BAD things.
The nice thing about the boots are the 5 min group lev, as opposed to having to resing it constantly. Next question ).... Do the greaves apply a lasting fear? If so, these would Rock !! Otherwise, if the ''cast time'' is longer than normal song26, i would not want to chance a break in fear twist, even to free up a spell slot. Anyone have the info?
No Idea on the spawn rate, however if I understand how things are on FFA servers (I play on Karana where we have set VS on a rotation). Then this guy lives for about 5 mins after he spawns. Hope your guild is able to mobilize that quickly.

venrill sathir drops these well dam he has a hard **** and need many organized groups to take his sorry *** down , guess i wont get my ss greavers after all
Song 21 is the funnest thing to play... Gathers newbies in a group on kelethin and plays song everyone ends up in different areas an occasional glitch makes the fall to there death but all in fun
Summon food, while being mildly handy, was a fairly useless proc. Fear is a bard staple for anyone who solos (yes bards solo, it's quite fun actually) and I'm guessing the new fear off these is a right click proc that should last a little longer than the typical bard song, based on the fact that the boots cast levitate song but it lasts longer than the levitate song even if it is a lot shorter duration than any similar spells from other classes. The AC and stats are also perfect for bards, I'd take armor class AND stats over any cheeseball proc like the breastplate proc that we all laugh at although fear could prove a lot more useful than summon food depending on cast time and duration.

I don't Know but I must Say that these are some Nice Greaves My Bard likes to fight and AC is Important to me these are AC 24 thats Great for a peice of Leg armor and it's one of the Few Peices of Singing Steel that Has Stat increases who Cares about its Effect look at its Stats +8 to STR DEX CHA and AGI is pretty Damn good In my Book
Hello all you beloved music makers, I currently have 8 characters on 7th Hammer and I've really taken a liking to the bard occupation. I've got a few of my chars into the 40's now which gives me the chance to make some decent money and get some good drops and quests. I twink my other chars, whether you agree with this philosophy or not, because I'm very sick of playing chars until they are at least lvl 15 and can do some of the things they were truly made for. I have SS boots, and I like the ac on the greaves but I agree the effect is a waste. My question to all of you is what armor besides SS and lambent should a good twister be looking for? And to those of you thinking of starting another or a first time char, honestly think about a bard. They are really quite fun and can do most everything. You can most always find a group because everyone wants your talents. Taluri (surname undecided) lvl 22 bard... The bard who loves to make groups laugh by playing song 21 while we're all in the Kelethin bank.

I agree it sucks pretty bad and I feel bad for all you composers out there, but hey ya get to still hope for something better from big ol Trak.
yes, summon food, 1 at a time.. not cornucopia, it seems being able to summon an entire stack at a time was entirely too over powering for something off a weekly spawn that isn't exactly easy to take down... on top of this.. don't bards also get forage? if it's anywhere near a woodelf warriors skill level(49 or 50 I believe) then they'll have more than enough food *sigh*
damn, i thought that druids got the shaft with Chloroplast...but SUMMON FOOD?!?! i'm not gunna say another word about the ES BP again, Veriant might decide druids are too much like bards and need a ***** effect.
